A smart lock that might finally work for my doors, been waiting for one like this

Day after day, I found more useful key lock can fit my door without modifying it. Thanks for your channel, most what I need is here. Have you seen the 3.0? Are you planning to upgrade it? If so, I’ll wait for your review.

Hi, glad you like the channel and find it useful. I have seen version 3.0 and would probably have purchased it for review, but since this video I have replaced the whole lock on my door with an Aqara A100 Zigbee smart lock, so it’s no longer possible to fit the Nuki lock, unfortunately. Here’s a link to the Aqara A100 review in case you’re interested; kzbin.info/www/bejne/nnnKm4iJaZeaoKM

@@homekitnews Thanks, I already saw it and was planning to get it. But unfortunately, I need to modify the door and there isn’t a lot Professionals around. So, the best solution for my situation is “Nuki” or “Linus” by “Yale”. I’m still seeing the pros and cons between them, although I found “Nuki” has a lot of features. Still need to read and see more videos. Unfortunately, most “Nuki” videos are not in English 🤷🏻♂️

Yes, locks like the A100 require a bit of work and skills to install. This is the original reason I used the Nuki, and I think it’s the best option for most people, especially if they are renting a home.

Thanks, I hope it answered any questions you might have had about the Nuki. It’s still serving me well over 18 month later.

great video regarding the keypad, does it need to be 6 digits or can i make it like 4 digits only ?

is the gears inside metal or plastic

Unfortunately there’s no way of telling without disassembling the outer section. Maybe Nuki can answer that better than me.

Hi there, I enjoy your shows very much. I just saw this product. The smart door lock called Nuki do you think it would be coming to North America in a different style? It really looked like a good lock Also, it works with HomeKit and that’s a great thing. The reason I’m asking you because you might hear more things than then I would thank you very much. Keep the good work on your shows. They’re really good. Thanks, Ken

Hi Ken, as far as I’m aware the Nuki lock isn’t sold in North America, mostly due it it specifically designed for Mortice locks with Eurocylinders, which isn’t that common where you are. However, two other companies will be releasing similar products soon. First is the SwitchBot Lock Pro, which will come in US and EU variants, and the Aqara U200 smart lock, which will work with both lock types. The former is coming out at the end of April, whilst the latter will be out at the end of May. Both have keypads, although SwitchBot offers it as an optional extra, whilst Aqara’s offering has the keypad as standard. I hope that’s of some help, but if you have further questions, feel free to ask.

How do you remove it?
@mick-tl5ui3 жыл бұрын
I have checked the installation guide and there is a clip you can push after the the battery housing is removed.

@@mick-tl5ui that’s correct, it’s quite easy.

But what about security? The key is inside and if it so extremely easy to assemble, it's just as easy to take off and just open the door or is it?
@homekitnews3 жыл бұрын
The assembly and key is on the inside of the door, not the outside.

Can you remotely unlock it using only HomePod mini as the HomeKit hub? (Without the need to buy the Nuki hub?)
@homekitnews3 жыл бұрын
Yes, you don’t need the Nuki gateway, as long as you only use HomeKit and have a Home hub by Apple. If you want to use the lock with the Nuki app remotely, then you need their gateway.

Thanks for the great review. It helped a lot. I have one question. After connecting the( lock, bridge, and keypad), Can I change the password for the keypad from anywhere in the world as long as both devices are connected to the internet?
@homekitnews2 жыл бұрын
Hi, as long as you have the Nuki Bridge (and it’s connected to your WiFi network), you can access all passcodes remotely. This is all done via the Nuki app of course, not HomeKit.

What about nuki 3.0 pro review)))

Hi, I would probably have done so, but shortly after they announced it, I had a totally different lock installed (the Aqara A100 Zigbee), so there’s no longer a door to test it with unfortunately.
