The worst part is proving the pain is all in your head yet it doesn’t go away
@Khorothis5 жыл бұрын
Absolutely the worst. It's real because you feel it but it's not real in the sense that there's no information value in the pain, which is its whole purpose. It's like long-term grief: feeling down for a while makes sense but at some point you have to realize, "make it real", that the person is dead and gone, and that it's old news. It's like trying to loosen a tense muscle in your brain. It's a skill onto itself.

Because I’m under 30 so many doctors just expected I was drug seeking and until I was 22 and finally presented with a butterfly rash they didn’t look into my severe pain. I was into a year of buying pills off the street before a doctor found the damage and gave me corrective back surgery. Took me 3 years to finally get out of the physical addiction and learn to live with the pain I have now. It’s so much easier to take a pill when it hurts but after a while one doesn’t do it anymore. Soon you’re eating 3 at a time until someone tells you to try snorting one. Pain is terrible, addiction is worse, both together is hell.

EVERY TIME I see House hit Wilson with his cane, i laugh. When he wants to be, House can be very brutal with his cane. He has a disability, but its almost as if the cane has given superpowers. He welds it for good and evil.

I mean moral implications aside, house was right to put the metaphorical mirror to his colleague’s face like that. They are there talking because a patient’s health is declining in their care and they need to solve it before she is dead. And she was too distracted to do her job, news flash of the girl dies in the hospital, separating her father does do anything to protect her! She is absolutely right in wanting to help prevent further trauma but she’s doing that at the cost of the girl’s physical health. And to then hypocritically accuse House of the very thing she is guilty of is saddening.

The idea that House would be tricked by placebo morphine is absurd. Anyone who’s taken or been given IV opioids, knows that however strong placebo can be, it doesn’t even scratch the surface. It’s like getting hit by a train of euphoria.

I have 20 screws and 2 rods from collarbone to bellybutton. Everyone gives me 💩 about my pain meds, and it’s always easy to dismiss until I lift my shirt up and say, “how about now?” A scar that runs the entire length of my back. If anyone thinks differently, 10 splintered vertebrae with screws and luck holding them together, never feel “Ok”. Nor does it ever get to a point where I can “block it out cuz it’s just all in my head” or whatever wiseass statement I’ve heard all too often.

Can someone explain to me why muscle death is so painful? I've read about it even on the House Wiki which describes exactly what House had and how they proceeded to fix it. I still don't understand what causes the extreme everlasting pain.
@dragonlogos13 жыл бұрын
Remember pain is the way the body tells us something is wrong. the nerves are the problem, not really the muscle, basically his body is constantly telling him his leg is damaged and it won’t turn off.
