Hey guys! To clarify, if you’re willing to make the time and monetary investment, I think split ergonomic keyboards are amazing and I would recommend them to anyone. I’m still gonna be using my Corne for almost everything. This is just a good alternative if you want something that is quick and easy to use, but still highly configurable. Hope you enjoyed it!

For real! It took me 3 hours to figure out Windows is layer 2 😣 (Nuphy doesn't say this anywhere in the docu, I had to look up Keychron 😅)

I'm very impressed that a well-built, hot swappable, programmable keyboard with wireless functionality is available so cheap nowadays. The compact layout of the Nuphy is also great and the programming is easy and quick. Unfortunately, it also has the classic limitations of a regular keyboard: not split, no tenting/tilting, row stagger, no column stagger, no thumb keys. I find the Corne to be too cognitively intimidating due to its scarcity of keys. Hopefully I will receive the Dygma Defy within a few weeks. I consider this keyboard to be the best available flat keyboard. Obviously it has a totally different price point than the Nuphy. Those who want to stick to the row staggered layout could consider the Dygma Raise. Excellent column staggered contoured keyboards are the Kinesis Advantage 360 and BastardKB Charybdis (with integrated trackball). Unfortunately, they also have their limitations, such as no wireless or difficult to program with wireless, and not hot-swappable. They are definitely not cheap, but can be good value.

Aww I got excited for another Neovim video, but I suppose a keyboard video will have to do. I’m happy with my Moonlander, though 😃

I had keyboard which Josean presents, but currently I'm using Keychron K11 Pro (Alice Layout) b/c it feels similar to Nuphy Air and has Alice layout.

That's a nice keyboard! I would love to try a split keyboard, but can't justify the $300+ expense. How much would it cost to build a Corne keyboard (including keycaps and all)?

I would like to use this keyboard with Ipad and make specific shortcuts - to write in polish and german easily at the same time. Is it possible to make it all work on IpadOS? Thanks in advance

Great vid, I always enjoy updates on your channel! I was wondering, why as a fan of customization tools to set-up a very personal workflow, you chose to go with mac, and not with some linux-based open-source laptop as tuxedo, system76 or framework? (big thanks to you for you nvim and tmux videos, I basically completely restructured my way of coding based on them)

With Linux, you tend to spend more time configuring your workspace than doing actual work---Mac offers the best of both worlds (app compatibility and UNIX tools).

dope! is it possible to program the backlighting to change colors (or light up specific hot keys for programs) when switching between programs? for example - If im using photoshop - blue, and illustrator Orange?

Is it not a step back after the custom Corne you are using? I'm in the middle of deciding wether to do the leap and invest my money and time to learn the split minimalist keyboard life. For example, this keyboard here uses the 'standard' staggered layout, which is often said to be quite unoptimal ergonomically.
@joseanmartinez11 ай бұрын
Hey! Yes personally I prefer using an ergonomic split and I would recommend it if you’re willing to make the time and monetary investment. This video is mainly to share a good option for people that just want to stick to something more traditional, but want to get into mechanical keyboards and be able to customize the layout as they like. If you’re thinking about making the leap to ergonomic splits, I think it’s definitely worth it!
