Staffing shortages at nursing homes has forced some facilities to think outside the box. A Minnesota nursing home is using a robot to help residents with memory problems and keep them active. Omar Villafranca shares more.

Can you imagine..... being unable to do things for yourself, family doesn't visit you, staff are too busy to care, and now this, from almost no human interaction to even less. Horrible that this is how we value human life in this country. And before you say anything, these things are a fact of life in a nursing home. Most days, any participation from care workers is the only contact they'll get. This is a very disturbing, though I'm sure lucrative trend. I'm glad my mom died before this started. NO one deserves this. I think it's CRAP.

This is happening because people will not fill this job. People will not fill this job because it is an underpaid and undervalued position. Pay people more and maybe we will want to work and this insanity wouldn't be playing out like this.

Exactly, nobody wants to work a job that is as underpaid as a CNA or PCT. They do so much. Even the people at stores like target or amazon get paid more. I will never work for these cruel institutions. Too bad the patients are the ones who suffer because it’s not their fault
