I’m in physical therapy but I love watching these kinds of videos to learn about nursing because we rely heavily on nurses for info on our patients in an acute setting where patient status changes so rapidly. You’re gonna be a fantastic nurse girl😊

If your schedule allows it and you have time I definitely recommend getting a job at a hospital just as PRN or part-time! I’m a CNA on a med-surg floor and I’ve learned so much already!! The experience is great and it will definitely prepare you even more for clinical! Best decision I ever made

Thank you! I had a CNA job for a while and quit. I’ve been thinking about getting a job when we move in January but my school tells us when we get accepted that their program is really really hard for those who work. So I’m hoping the school load will lighten up by quarter 5 in January 😅😭

Ashley Taylor I know you worked in a nursing home before and that’s great experience too but the hospital is a different world you learn so much more! I’m actually from Colorado and I work with other CNA’s that actually go to DCN or have graduated from DCN and they just work a few days a month PRN while in school so they can build their work schedule around their school schedule and if that month is particularly busy you don’t have to work!

omg i had to do all of those vsims and shadow health in nursing school even when there wasnt a pandemic haha! virtual clinicals suck but as a brand new nurse i will say you will learn mostly on the job especially if you go into a specialty! good luck girl :)

I will be doing Shadow Health simulation for majority of my 1st semester, so this video was super interesting and helpful in providing insight on how simulations work. I've heard a lot of people complain about having to do clinicals online, so I honestly was scared, but this video helped ease that fear. I was wondering if simulation is that bad, but I guess it is just time consuming and also being in an actual hospital setting is preferred by most students. Simulation is the next best thing, so it'll do for now. Also, for the papers you printed off, do you have to turn that in to your professor or do you just print it off for your own personal use? I have the MacBookair I just got it in January this year and I love it! It’s super helpful and convenient as a college student. Even more so with everything being online! 😅 the keyboard cover came with the laptop case and I got it from amazon!! I’ll try to find it all and put it in the description box of my next video 😊

I have friends at other schools who are all back in the hospitals for clinicals here in Colorado! I just feel like it’s more of a limited space problem for safety!
