This is my absolute miracle drug. 25 years with migraines and I was given samples of this - then a prescription. I changed insurance and was denied and lost my mind - but my neurologist sent an expedited appeal which was granted and I am so grateful. It is the ONLY medication that works for me. I have tried EVERYTHING- please, if you’re considering it, DO IT. I am sensitive to all meds and have had terrible reaction to other migraine meds. This gives NO side effects for me. I take it and within one hour the migraine is GONE. And I’m talking about migraine with aura, blurred vision, nausea, intense pain that no matter what will NOT let up, constant crying. Whoever invented this medication should be praised. Thank you for reading my comment 😊

I started getting migraines in my 50's. My migraines would give signs of coming on by starting at the base of my neck and wrapping around to my left side above my ear and into my left eye. The pain would grow greater and cause vomiting and severe pain. I was given a sample pack of Nurtec to try and the results were amazing. Within 20 minutes of taking it, the pain was greatly reduced and within 30 minutes to an hour the pain was gone completely. Now, whenever I feel the migraine coming on. (which feels much different to me than a "normal" headache) I can prevent it from happening completely with one tablet of Nurtec. Nurtec is a game changer for me. I highly recommend trying it.

Nurtec is the best acute med I have tried so far. Triptans are usually pretty miserable for me and not very effective. Nurtec doesn’t result in any negative side effects that I know of. It certainly doesn’t always work every time, but it is a huge improvement over triptans for me. I just wish i could get more than 8 per month without having to ask for extra samples from my doctor.

Hi Julie! Right?! That’s a question on a lot of people’s minds. If you think about it: if people respond well to a short acting CGRP blocking pill like Nurtec or Ubrelvy for acute migraine treatment, should t that mean that they would also respond well to one of the long acting CGRP blocking antibody treatments for migraine prevention?

@@TheHeadacheChannel I asked my doctor, and he said that my good response to Nurtec might mean that Aimovig would help me. I have not tried it yet. However, if I recall correctly, most people go once a week for less than two months, then extend the times between IVs to eventually not needing them at all. Though I highly recommend trying the magnesium IVs, don't expect them, or any one thing, to be a cure all. I still need to be careful about avoiding certain food and activities, getting enough sleep, doing gentle exercise, drinking plenty of water, etc. . Tuesday March 22nd 2022 ! Here on the island I live on , you get two IM injections to the buttocks . They contain Decadron Scapolamine and Dopamine and in 10 minutes the migraine is gone ! In New York City I was Rx Cafargot and other meds and nothing worked ! The longest I’ve had a migraine was for 47 days and brain scans showed nothing ! I had to go to school from age 16 when the migraines started , all the way until I graduated college and it was devastating ! I couldn’t concentrate and I would throw up and I had to wear dark sunglasses and ear plugs because the light and loud noice was painful too But by the time I entered college the headaches only came several times a month and lasted only several days ! I’m retired now and moved out of the states and luckily the doctors here know what to do for migraines ! My question is why should I take Nortec and have to wait for two more painful hours when in ten minutes the pain is gone with the decadron scapolamine and dopamine injections ? And the best part is that then I’m pain free for up to 8 months ! Once I saw a Chiropractor and my migraine stopped immediately and did not come back for a year but when I went to see him again he had moved to Florida and with the second chiropractor the pain did not go away so I moved here to this island and they may not speak English very well but they sure as heck know their medicines ! Anyway thank you for sharing this information because at least I know it’s dangerous and takes too long to work ! ❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍♥️♥️♥️

Im picking up samples from my Dr. tomorrow. I hope it works for me. Ive tried many migraine meds and the only thing that works for me is Triptans. I currently take Rizatriptan when a migraine is coming on. I have chronic migraine. Less than 10 a month would be a good month for me. So since Amovig and Emgality did not work for me...does that mean the Nurtec will likely not work? Thank you, Jo in KC, Mo.

Why rimegepant ODT is more effective against Rimegepant Tablet
@TheSweetForever3 жыл бұрын
Probably because it takes less time to get into your body unlike a tablet that has to break down then can help you. ODT is broken down almost immediately. Just my thought.

Nurtec has no effect on my migraines. It is useless and gave me no relief at all. Happy for others that it helps but I wasn't one of the lucky one's.

Due to Whoopi Goldberg being a spokesperson for this product I will never take this.
