That little boy reminded me of how I was. I would act out Disney's Lion King and so many more Disney animals my family thought something was wrong with me. I ended up medicated and messed up long term from being medicated unnecessarily as such a young child. Let your kids imaginations grow and blossom. They will probably become artists or writers of some kind.

@@karleymumford1745 honestly same 🥺💖 I was actually held back in nursery from going to school for an extra year because I was too disruptive, by disruptive they meant I constantly embodied either animals or Disney characters and wouldn't sit and listen to say a story sometimes 😅😂 I'd just make my own up and do my own lil thing, but I wasn't stupid I was just creative and I got lost in my imagination more than some of the other kids in my class, nowadays sadly some young kids don't use their imaginations as much just with the phones and tablets doing it for them 😅 could do with lots of creative play instead but that's just my opinion 😅🥰

I think one of the biggest mistakes parents make is when they tell their child what they want them to do, and they add: OKAY ? That really shows no conviction on the parents part. It's almost like they're asking their child permission to punish them. Parents can be firm but kind to get their point across and show that they are the adults ! ! !

in my opinion, that ‘Okay?’ is more of a ‘Do you understand?’. But I completely agree that using more clear language for kids is super important; and I’ve never considered that perspective until now

That little super hero is such a sweetheart hes so cute, our neighbors kid had the same problem, he was aloud to dress up all the time and he did better at school wearing costumes because he felt confident and in his own skin he wasn’t. But we don’t have uniforms in my country to go to school in.

That's very wise. Keep learning. When I was pregnant 3 years ago, a lot of my prep centered around the birth (I had a home birth), and I didn't spend enough just studying parenting. So after she was born, I had to essentially cram, and I watched this show a lot. It's helped so much to prevent terrible behavior. So it's great that you are watching this now. Keep learning, reading books, talking to other parents. There is absolutely value in preparation.

The little boy in the super hero costumes isn't a problem. My family medicated me and treated me so different cause I would role play Disney characters (specifically the Lion King) I ended up on so many unhealthy medications and doctors would give me things they wouldn't even give a 40 year old man (I was 9 year old little girl) I think that whole experience in my life has led me to deal with so much more mental illness and depression than I could have been left with if they never medicated me.

Wow was this a different episode! That little super hero. Most episode’s are spoiled kids and “bad” parenting. This kid wants to save his baby sister! He’s amazing, but they can’t let it hold him back. It really hit home because a friend of mines daughter has Rett’s syndrome. She is 15. She’s on tube feeding, can’t speak or walk. Their life expectancies are very low. It’s a horrible disease because they seem normal up until about 18 months. Her daughter was crawling, walking, talking and eating. Then little by little she lost it all.

Ok I'm usually on board with Jo but telling the parents whose daughter was pulling her eyelashes out to just ignore it? Um no, that little girl needs therapy, sounds like she has some issues with anxiety. Trichotillomania doesn't just disappear because the parents think it's an obstinate behavior.
@itskaybe6348
@itskaybe6348 3 жыл бұрын
@ChyvsDreads I'm sorry you are still struggling with Trich. And while therapy alone probably isn't the answer I do not think that therapy wouldn't be helpful. I fully believe that everyone should go to therapy throughout their life to help them through difficult times. Even if that therapy was to help the kids deal with all the other changes going on after Jo gives her insight, she is stepping in and changing how their entire family system has been working.

HI Jo! You are B R I L L I A N T !!! I understand what you are helping these parents do, is taking back their Authority from their children, because the parents are paying the bills, keeping a roof over their children's head, food on the table, clothes on their backs, "Love", "The parents should be in control not the child, but some parents have given their control to their children and made their houses chaos and spoiled their blessings into little monsters, the parents are to busy in not wanting to say no and putting their foot down, as if the parents want to be their children's friend, some are even ready to throw in the towel when it comes to parenting, Jo is trying to help these parents to do what they need to do and stop feeling sorry for themselves, and set up some guidelines and stop the manipulations, and when to discipline and when to ignore some of what their children are doing, parents "Enough is Enough" parents need to spend more quality time with each child, and talk and not screaming and yelling, then they will see their children lose the attitude and have that loving home that is desperately wanted!!!😊 happy parenting❤❤❤

There are no easy answers to parenting. Some children respond to a firm hand some require an articulate voice. To assume that you know everything about child rearing is very immature. Do I know what this child needs, no. But to rule out something because you believe it is bad without contemplating the context of the situation let's me know you are very immature and veiw the world as black and white.

For everyone who says they should’ve hit him, we have a very similar case in our family and it became really bad that his parents started using corporal punishment, harshly even.. but it didn’t improve anything.. it only gotten worse because : he realized he got taste of the worst of it, that corporal punishments are ok, and the root of the problem still didn’t get fixed .. so NO.. BEATING do NOT solve anything talking and strict parenting cannot do ( yes you will see a quicker improvement, but quick doesn’t mean sustainable not lasting nor correct )

Goodness gracious you people in the comments are so harsh and pretty rude from what I’m reading... people all parent differently and they have the right to do so because it’s their child, now if they can’t make boundaries from who’s in charge and who’s the kid than that’s really their fault and they are doing it to themselves because they know they can put the foot down but most of these people it very obviously seems like they just don’t want to put up with the child crying/being sad for not getting what the child wants. They need to get over it and realize at the young age they aren’t able to be at the friend stage yet it’s still a parent child relationship age not a parent best friend & child best friend relation just yet otherwise if they see as a friend under the age of 14 the child will walk all over them

Probably abuse of some kind and sheer anger and fear behind these outbursts 🤔

My God ... Ms Frost, ..... Good parents are not easy to find ..... today! .... Most are too preoccupied with their own "other" , very busy, lives & personal problems! ....... Imagine, some parents have better relationships, with their too many .... house pets!

They are not that bad. How would you feel if someone said that they wish they never had you because you made one temper tantrum? The good of kids outweigh the bad. But I am glad you didnt have kids, you would be a horrible mother.

when I saw Jack battle against his mother Nikkie I pulled my Federation Starfleet Hand Phaser out then I activate the power then I set to stun then fire my Federation Starfleet Hand Phaser at Jack the phaser beam hits his back down million damage stunned after this he will stop attacking his mother. so he did. Nikkie didn't stop his son Jack I did. I said. Ms. Nikkie I have stunned your son Jack with my Federation Starfleet Hand Phaser extremely well I see you didn't stop your son I did. after this he will stop attacking you. Nikkie: thank you Captain Capps for stopping my son Jack. Me: no problem Ms. remember to be in our future 25th century 2400s it's alright. if they go too far it's not alright. Nikkie: you said it Captain. Me: of course.

Well, I couldn't watch this because I figured just by looking at the environment and the foods they eat, high processed foods, that once they get a handle on this major factor things should be more consistent for the parents. I know this because I have been there and done that.
