This makes me want to post my kids process. 2 years ago I couldn’t even touch her. Constant meltdowns. Non verbal. She would hit herself non stop. Pull her hair . And the stimming was bad!! She was Always grunting and avoiding speech by directing me what she wanted by pulling my hand. It was getting so hard. I almost gave custody to my parents because I felt like I didn’t have the patience. I was raising her as a single parent most of the times and I was taking her to all the therapies I could get and nothing was working! After being with babies can’t wait for three years they passed her over to the school system for special education . And it was a whole 180! She began using her words being able to count to saying her ABCs. The grunting is gone. She stopped stimming by 80%! She has stopped hitting herself and now enjoys being hugged and kissed but she’s overactive sometimes and it still a work in progress but she’s done so much better now. From 3 hour meltdowns to the max 15 minute meltdowns. So if anyone here is discouraged please don’t give up. It’s hard but in the end it’s worth it . Keep up the good work I won’t lie I think your a better mom than I. You look so patient with your child. And i can see how much he loves you :).

@@anabarkova5991 yes I am :). Awe :(. My kid is 5 right now so she is already in the school system. They will usually send someone to your house depending on your kids needs. My kid was seen twice a week. They can help you with more services if you request them. My kid had poor motor skills so apart from speech she also received occupational to help her hold things well. Hopefully they can see your son soon. Only issue was I have been on an ABA waiting list for two years now.:/ but that’s no ones fault. I get those services are harder to get. Especially around these times everything is so delayed :/. Hopefully your son benefits from the program. Progress my be a little slow but don’t give up. My daughter is only 7 months old, but I see identical stim patterns in her as I see here in Dexter. The stiff arms out to the side, the little dance spasms, the way he seems to push away at you when you get close to his personal space. She's also not babbling at all yet, not even a single consonant. It's hard to stay optimistic in the process since it feels like my dreams are crashing down around me, and all it makes me want to do is commend you guys for being such great parents. Very strong people.

Hi, i'm curious how you and your daughter are both doing now? Was she diagnosed with autism? My now 2 year old (33 months) seems to show some of autism signs but then others she doesn't show. We're currently doing free speech therapy through the state until she turns 36 months and then she can continue at a school if she still qualifies.. but it's all so challenging. I don't know what's consider "normal" toddler behavior or something I need to be asking for more evaluations on.

Mummy Of 2... Yea look I have to agree with you here- she really is a wonderful mother, that's very clear in the videos and although I know sometimes people can often have themselves appear to be like this or that, and isn't a very accurate portrayal of how someone actually behaves etc, but here in this case, though, I do believe that what she's sharing with us is most likely a pretty accurate picture. It's just incredibly disappointing that there are people out there that have, and through their own actions, caused people to doubt what they see or hear, dropping the bar for all those whom actually have actual and genuine things to add, tell, etc, on parenting. I think alot of mums and dads could probably learn a thing or two from this wonder-mum!! I know I probably could, for sure. There's no loss when it comes to learning new parenting skills and methods as having as many little tricks, hacks or ideas only broadens your abilities as a mum or dad! So maybe one day try out for size, so,e of these whatever they are, if they don't work the way you'd hoped, is alright!. You can't have too much experience with being a parent it's just not possible.. there's no maybe, it is what it is, I suppose! Anyways, my own little one needs me to clean him up as we just had some lunch! P.s. hi all the way from Australia!! 😎😊😉😁

Already diagnosed privately but not accepted by nhs because isn't following NICE guidelines. He is still non verbal,no attempt to form any words, limited understanding, delayed in many areas. Dexter reminds me so much of my son. Coincidence i was gonna name him Dexter but jis dad wouldn't let me :) If he could achieve what Dexter did by the time he's 4.5 i would be thrilled. You are such a great mom. I cried through your video because my son is 5.5 and is still struggling with Speech. I get desperate and frustrated because I can't communicate with my son. It's hard and his little brother is 2.5 and he doesn't say any words also. My 5.5 is autistic and they want to evaluate my younger one. Keep it up, you're doing great.

Hi, I followed you for years but see you haven't updated in 3 years on YT. Do you have any updates on Dexter you could share? From one ASD mama to another.

M lost for words,my son who will be 6 this June was non speaking till 2.5 years, but found his voice at 3 n now he communicates his wants verbally but somewhat in broken sentences As a Mommy ,I can feel the wat u may have gone through,it wasn't easy for me either.but seeing a little progress in my son lights up my world .
