Tremendous as always. I love the video of Richard playing it because of the audience reaction. I recall the first time I heard it played, I didn't realize what he was doing at first, and thought he was screwing up the nutcracker score. Then when I figured it out I kept watching the video over and over. Shared it with many friends.

Beautiful music and excellent production. The video recording was so well done I forgot that I was watching a multi-camera production. The lighting is also superb, depth-of-field. Feels movie-like. Thanks for going above-and-beyond to make your videos just as delightful to watch as they are to listen to.

Great arrangement, great performance. Thumbs up! Btw: did you know that this song originally is a spring song from 16th century Sweden? "Then Lustige Tijd Nu Är" (Now is the Happy Season". Everyone think it's English, but nope. Speaking as a Swede, I'm a little proud of that 😉

Really good Rob. You play just like Richard Elliott. Love it. You should have got the tabernacle organist job when the choir posted the application. I have a few inspirations. Your one of them. Love all of your videos Rob. Keep them coming.

Rob, could you please answer a question? I’ve been wanting to make visually stunning keyboard videos like this myself. The ones I’ve made so far (most not even posted yet) are all pretty boring because they’re just static cameras on tripod. I don’t know anything about camcorder peripherals yet. Can you please tell me how you achieved those smooth horizontal and vertical panning shots? I assume that wasn’t just someone holding a camera because it’s too smooth a movement. Was it a handheld stabilizer of some kind? Possibly even one of those curved “train track” type things that cameras ride on? (Sorry I don’t know the names of these things.) Honestly, if I knew how you created those moving shots, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy the same equipment to do it myself. Can you help with the info on what you used?
@stefanussen5 жыл бұрын
There's a lot you can do with just a tripod, especially if you take a multi-camera approach. The movement you see are pretty typical slider shots, this is the one I used: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zmqae6OQiZmsr80 I used to be able to make one of these videos in a day or two (not including time to learn a piece), but now they're starting to turn into week long projects. I have fun with it, so it's fine. If it wasn't something I really enjoyed doing though, the investment of time, money, and effort probably wouldn't be worth it.

@@stefanussen Rob, a fat **Thank You** for the reply and posting that video link. I just watched the video and I'm already sold. I've been busting my tail getting my keyboard skills off the ground and now I really want to share videos of myself playing, possibly even beginner tutorials. I figure if I can inspire anyone half as much as your videos have inspired me, it's definitely worth the effort. Thank you again for the link and the info.

Wow!! Nice arrangement Rob.😁 Glad to see you're still in circulation. I love your new console... that's one gorgeous piece of woodwork! I've also got Hauptwerk 4.2 and a couple of MIDI keyboards, but I don't have my pedal board finished yet. (too many projects and not enough time). I've got several sample sets of both European classical organs and various American theater organs. My current favorite is the Friesach (extended) set from Piotr Grabowski, and it sounds great through my Macbook Pro running a digital signal line into an Onkyo 500 watt receiver/amp.😉
@cromorno87494 жыл бұрын
Friesach is for sure the best of the free sample sets, but the two best are Harlem and Dudelange, both by Voxus

Fantastic! Where are you getting the percussion from (i.e. chimes)? I just purchased the Salisbury sets but don't see those anywhere
@stefanussen4 жыл бұрын
I added them with EastWest Symphonic Orchestra and Reaper. It's a pretty technical process that involved learning Lua and writing scripts to make it all work.

What is the printed music notation indicating 'raise both hands in the air as if being held up by a bandit' at about 2:56? I'm totally impressed by your musical and cinematic skills.

Are you talking about the melody for the last seciton? I had the solo coupled down to the choir. And then added the Gt. 8' & 4' reeds.

Another great organist arranger and composer and has absolutely incredible and challenging beautiful music is Mons Leidvin Takle . Power of Life and Resolute Desicion. The leg-crossing was part of the premiere by the arranger in 2008. The pedals on the off-beats are tricky enough without the leg-crossing, so I don't usually perform it this way, but included it in one angle as a nod to Rick. His Christmas solos are just as much for the eyes as they are for the ears.
