Don't get too excited on the KSG 25...not yet. For sure there's a lot of reviewers who sign off on this 25 shot (!) combat shotgun without reservation and are giddy with the prospect of a 25 shot pump gun. But there's some things you need to know about it. You've come to the right place.
First, the KSG 25 is very heavy and a bit ungainly. We'll talk about that in the Bunker of course...firepower vs mobility again. Lots of infield testing video is shown during the discussion. Second, like some other KelTec firearms, there's a rub. The testing had to be extended because of it. A shell consideration is proffered from my data; it is the key to making your KSGs run well.
Other considerations will be covered like sighting options, loading, competitive options, and comparisons against other perhaps more preferred KSG options.
But I'll give this Fortress KSG it's due props: it has considerable firepower, it's one of kind, it's intimidating, relatively affordable, and it will do point defense like few other shotguns. Make sure you stay to the end too when I say if I'd buy one or not too!

Hi TNPrs! Project still strong and working hard thanks to TNP Patreon [yes it's still going, don't believe the rumors it will shutdown...it has worked very well for us here at least and keeps the content flowing]. Remember TNPP gets the videos first and some never post on the main channel! Here's some TNPr comments from Patreon, join the fun and full flow of TNP content: www.patreon.com/Nutnfancy "Robert I had a KSG, but I sold it 😭 2w William R. Stevens III Intro made me think of.....Say hello to my little friend!!!!!!!!!😎 2w Trevor Dougar Speaking of Keltec you should check out the p17 a 12 oz .22 pistol with 17rd mags I just picked mine up for $180 and it’s functioning everything so far, Thanks for the content 1 2w Aaron Martin I’m good, wrong house... 😅 2w bcbrin KSG has always been a 'like to have' rather than a need. Already having a 590A1 in the arsenal, it's tough to justify another shotgun that wouldn't serve a secondary purpose like hunting, trap, skeet, etc. That said, Keltec is one of the only companies putting out 100% unique designs. 2 2w The Nutnfancy Project I'd rather shoot the 590 than the KSG. It's more of a special purpose gun. For instance in vehicle close confines I'd prefer the KSG> 2w Nicolas Royston This is the shotgun for people who didn't want to watch Nutn's "ammo carry for tactical shotgun" video. Point defense is best pou for sure. For when you know you won't have time to reload. 1 2w The Nutnfancy Project Exactly, thanks for that tie in 2w Mark Horan How about a run n gun through the old trench against the Beretta 1301 Comp Pro or Stoeger M3K 3-Gun shotgun. Miss the old trench. Thanks for review....made my Sunday evening. 2 2w Aceman1126 Keltec... make this in semi auto and I'm sold. I know it will take time to iron out the reliability issues but pllllleeeeeaaassseeee make it happen. Take your time and make it run 100% (include adjustable gas settings) and you will have a LOT of buyers 2 2w The Nutnfancy Project I do have the KS7 review also done it was horrendous in reliability. KT just cannot seem to get quality issues fixed and they never will. But when upgraded from the factory they run great, go figure. 4 2w Connor Murphy I like the KSGs. The short overall length and large capacity is cool, but when push comes to shove I'm still more comfortable with a standard layout semi-auto or pump shotgun. Xlint vid as always. 1 2w mm80121 Was Nutn clearing that malfunction with a Spyderco Stretch 2? That is a lesser known but very awesome Spydie 🤙 2 2w The Nutnfancy Project Good eyes, indeed a Stretch, I love mine 2 2w RowdyRon Really cool video. So glad to see this pop up in my mail. Thanks Nutn. 1 2w The Nutnfancy Project Hello Rowdy! Great to see you here and thanks for all the comments. 1 2w Jake Etzler Any chance of you reviewing the KS7 Nutn? I understand its basically a stripped down KSG but I'm curious what your opinion is based on SAWC and how it holds up in the desert...always appreciate your vids man, thanks for the great content. 1 2w Chris Marchi It would be great in semi auto but hauling it around? Reminds me of the M60 days. 1 2w The Nutnfancy Project It needs a dolly! 2w RobK 18:20 there is a video error 2w The Nutnfancy Project Will check, thanks 2w Load reply Nick Campbell Didn't even know this gun existed! The Nutnfancy reveal is pure entertainment value! Grinning ear to ear starting this video. 1 2w The Nutnfancy Project Thank you Nick, sooo kind 2w PHILLIP DOUBLE U 1:31 is freaking hilarious 1 2w Nancy Merrell-Robertson Oh, Kel-Tec! I wish I understood your business model. Thanks for a GREAT review Nutn. I always look forward to them. ON A PERSONAL NOTE, any idea how I can get the .22LR magazines that would fit into the stock of my SU-22? I've tried and tried, and can't get them, nor does anyone I speak with know what I'm even talking about. OH, well... 2w Lon N As always good stuff Nutn, all GRV's are relevant information. Speaking of 12 gauge bullpuppery... I would be entertained by a review of Armscorp / Rock Island VRBP-100. 5 round mag fed auto. No I don't own one, but the crop of bullpup 12 gauge autos being imported is interesting. 2w Christopher Davis I'm only a few minutes into this review and I'm already laughing from the casual conversation with a home invader about your weapon of choice and "Maybe you don't understand that it's with a banana!" (I had no idea you could do that with your voice, Nutn!) LOL 2w Casey Jones It's a great gun I'm sure, just not for me. It's the weight issue. I'm not exactly 6'4" 240lbs and 5% body fat. Can I shoot it? Yeah. Just don't wanna haul that thing over hill and dale. As for home defense, rather run a more compact and lighter gun. But everyone that wants to run a KSG 25, go for it. It's up for the task, that's for sure. Great review Nutn. 1 2w Rob B Speaking of SAWC, any plans on testing the Brownell’s all polymer AR15 lower once they’re released? Might finally accomplish that 6 pound fighting rifle goal without needing skeletonized BCGs or carbon fiber barrels. 1 2w Joshua kinnunen Keltec’s Chad Enos: friend, competitor, and project bear scat expert. 2 2w Patrick Brichta Dude, i was totally hoping that POU you were about to drop is "when the roof-tops start speaking Korean! " 1 2w Beck Looks badass and intimidating, thats for sure 2w Logan Holmberg I don't care about self defence personaly (its basically illegal where I live...equal force laws🤮) but that gun looks like fun. I wonder if it would be a good wilderness gun? Good Varmet/Hog gun I think IMO Hell yeah! But I imagine its capacity makes it illegal for most game other than those labeled as pests. Anyway the weight can't be much worse than the wood stocked shotguns Ive luged around most of my life.🤣 2w Logan Holmberg Do you think as a Varmit truck gun having Slugs in one barrel and Buck in the other might not be a good idea? That way you don't necessarily need a choke and you have slugs for longer ranges on cyotes or heavier pests like hogs. Also if you screw up its not the end of the world you just might have missed a shot or splatted a pest more than youd like but its probably not a big deal. Also wolves and bears get pretty big were I live so UI like the idea of having both even though the DNR aren't fans of guns out of season. Frankly I'll take the fine cause I don't give a F**k if a Cougar, Grey Wolf or Black bear is approaching my camp. I've long sinced learned you don't F around with these animals especially if the are aclimatized to humans. Yeah popers, bear bells and mace have their place but not in camp. 2w Anthony Schaad Hey Nutn, thanks for the honest review. Looks like it b fun to plink with , maybe home defense but would def not be in my top list. They definitely are interesting shotguns just... idk they never really floated my boat. But as always thanks for the hard work in putting this content out here !! 2w whiskey papa Nothing. Say nothing with a KelTec moniker on it.....jesayin. 2w Zachary Plocek That is one very happy KSG-12. 2w Shot442 First range trip out with a KSG, it took me less than 30 seconds to jam it up so bad it took tools to correct. After looking more closely at the design of the action I decided it had no place for me as a defensive shotgun. 2w Sheepdog He Nutn, speaking of Chad Enus (apologies if I spelled his name wrong), what watch was he running in the picture you flashed up of him? Very cool looking watch! 2w Matthew Larson Definitely got a good laugh from the intro of the video. Thanks for still putting out gun reviews! I have had the standard KSG on my list for a long time, but I haven't gotten around to picking one up. Not sure how available they are right now anyway. The 25 looks cool, but seems kind of like a novelty thing to me. 2w Matthew Sinn Sounds like Nutn didn't have good luck with his, but keep an eye out for the KS7 as well. It's much less expensive, but lighter, slimmer, and more handy. I'm very happy with mine. 2w James R Funniest nutn vid ever!!! 2w Jeremy Huggins Been looking forward to this. Saw it in inset footage like a year ago haha. 2w HappyFrancisMacomber I love the idea of these KSs. From years of hunting I just have such great relationship with a standard 12 ga pump... can clear a jam/reload at dawn with frozen hands, in thick cover and still get a shot off/take a bird... 12 ga as good option for home defense makes sense for me 1w David Goodridge I find it hard to believe you’d even give this gun a look, considering the highly touted UTS-15 in your rotation. 😎 1w Trey Koger needs a bayonet lug. 2 1w David and Elizabeth Like you said, it had its place. Ultimately it's a win. 👍 👨‍👩‍👧 ❤"

⚠ Maybe we should stop focusing so much on guns and START focusing on who controls the money system. ⚠ THE LOSS OF CONFIDENCE IN THE U.S.A. DOLLAR CAUSES VALUE LOSS IN THE U.S.A. DOLLAR ! People, please stop talking negative about the U.S.A. dollar. Yes, most of us agree that the dollar would be better if the privately owned Federal Reserve business would be replaced with Congress taking back their Constitutional right to print the dollar again as they did before the year 1913. * Please watch the video documentary called, 'THE MONEY MASTERS' by Bill Still. The U.S. dollar currency has value in most countries on this earth because modern day technology has made it almost impossible to counterfeit. Gold and Silver can be easily counterfeited ! It costs many thousands of dollars to own a machine that accurately tests Gold and Silver for counterfeits. * I personally own a little Gold and Silver as a novelty. By you and others criticizing the U.S.A. dollar pushes us faster towards a One World Order cashless digital currency money slavery system ! Please research past history from many hundreds of years ago on how Gold and Silver was made scarce by corrupt politicians. When Gold & Silver is made scarce it causes many, many problems. Send all the corrupt politicians that got the U.S.A in debt to communist China to have them pay off the debt in the China slave labor prisons ! * President Trump can create an Executive Order to wipe out the U.S.A. debt. Then allow Congress their Constitutional right to print non-debt based money again as they did before the year 1913. The words 'FEDERAL RESERVE NOTE' will then be replaced with the words 'UNITED STATES NOTE' back on our cash. If Congress does not do this soon we are going to be in a lot of trouble ! ! Why isn't President Trump taking action by implementing this ? This would truly help "make America great again!" I and many other American's are not afraid of the corrupt Federal Reserve bank. "We The People" are the government. The U.S. Constitution clearly explains this! The politicians are our public servants. WE SHOULD NEVER BE AFRAID TO FIGHT FOR THE TRUTH ! ! ! Watch the historical video documentary called 'THE SECRET OF OZ' by Bill Still. It explains that Gold and Silver have been made scarce by banks that resulted in depressions and many other serious problems. This fact has happened often in many countries. Most people need to fine tune their critical thinking skills and research abilities. ~DNA ALTERING VACCINES & THE COMING CONTROLLED MONEY SLAVERY SYSTEM~ LISTEN VERY CAREFULLY TO WHAT Jeremiah Babe said over 5 weeks ago on his KZbin channel ..... He said, "The prices of GOLD and SILVER are manipulated !" Please research past history from many hundreds of years ago on how Gold and Silver was made scarce by corrupt politicians. When Gold & Silver is made scarce it causes many, many problems. *Now, I want you all to think carefully about the logical conclusion here. The evil elitist that manipulate the prices of Gold & Silver can make a new law that says you can't "buy or sell" with Gold, Silver or Cash. Their new form of "money" will be a computer chip in your "right hand or forehead" that can be scanned just like your bank debit cards at all stores. How many of you have 7 years of food stored up in your houses or in your apartments or on your property ? Why would anybody invest or put their trust in Gold & Silver that is manipulated by very evil people ? Question, how many of you will be willing to trade your guns and ammo in for food and medicines? How many are going to let themselves and their family members go hungry to the point of starvation by NOT accepting the new 666 "beast" money system ? How many of you will allow yourselves or family members suffer with an injury because you refuse to have the injury treated at your local walk-in clinic or hospital that only accepts a computer chip in the "right hand or forehead" ? "Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law? They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood." ~HOLY BIBLE, Psalms 94:20, 21 ⚠ WARNING ⚠ URGENT MEDICAL INTEL The politicians that have given themselves over to evil have been destroying people's health for many years. *New Coronavirus vaccine is a 'Trojan horse' .... The CDC and CIA are using fear based psyops manipulation to persuade citizens into taking the new toxic Coronavirus vaccine. This new vaccine has a delayed disease creating effect in the human body. 💉 Please research this truth in the video documentary 'IN LIES WE TRUST' by Dr. Lenny Horowitz. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iaiXho1slrVpq8U Please research this truth in the video documentary 'CORONAVIRUS PREDICTIVE PROGRAMMING' by Dr. Leonard Horowitz. kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKPQqap9bbuopM0 Please research this truth in the video documentary 'BEYOND TREASON'. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZmPEcnqrgsZlh9E Please watch the video documentary '205 - THE MAN BEHIND THE MASK / TOTAL ONSLAUGHT' by Walter Veith. kzbin.info/www/bejne/q3zGiYePjM1lfJI *1909 New York Press, January 26,1909 publishes a report by W.B. lilbeserk I haven’t haven’t had any issues with it myself, but I have had non-gunner friends jam it on a few occasions. The key is to rack the slide with authority. I’m pretty sure nutn talked about it in his original KSG review. If you rack the slide weak it will either not strip a shell from the magazine, or it can also jam. It’s personally never happened to me unless I artificially make it happen though. I trust it enough that I leave it unchambered next to the bed.

A long time ago as an LEO in an unnamed agency, we were taught as a last ditch effort to stop a deadly mob to fire buckshot at the ground in front of the mob. The idea was to bounce the buckshot off the ground and into the legs of the attackers. This was only to be used when deadly force was necessary. We never used this method. But in defense of your home against a deadly mob it might work. But I would have an AR-15 or AK slung and ready to switch to. I would like to see a test to see the effects of the bounce technique and the legality of it. I have not heard of other agencies or civilians using or advocating this method. For those jurisdictions where so called 'assault weapons' are banned, the KSG along with a Mini-14 would be viable options. I carry a Rossi 92 lever action in .45 Colt when I have to drive through Maryland.

Thanks for another gun video. I remember in the good old days in the 1980's, being trained to fire buckshot at the ground in front rioters. to bounce the buckshot into their legs. Then to shoot for effect only if necessary! Luckily we were never deployed to do so. Were were issued Remington 870s at the time The KSG could be used as point defense during riots like we are seeing today. But you must train with the KSG. You must cycle it with vigor. Also train to clear jams!!

The only POU I can’t think of for the KSG 25, would be hog hunting... if you have to use 12 gauge, can’t reload and don’t plan on engaging anything over 100 yards. Great review Nutn! You always keep it real.

Tried several normal KSG's and could barely get through one tube. Not sure I want one with even more ammo in it. Constant stuck casings, having to set the gun down and kickstart the vertical grip to clear it. Pump would get stuck a lot and you'd have to give the grip a really hard smack. And it recoils more than other 12g's for me. Put the same ammo in my 870 and I went through twice as many rounds as the KSG did, in less than half the time. No malfunctions, no cycling troubles or anything. Just not a fan of a lot of their stuff from a usability standpoint. For innovation, they do win though.

I think Kel Tec absolutely nailed it with their first try - the original KSG. It's the perfect size and capacity for pretty much every situation imaginable. But I can't discredit them for giving us more options ;)
@corneredfox
@corneredfox 4 жыл бұрын
What about the KS7, a KSG with a single tube? Yes you lose ammo capacity, it's also lighter, less complex, and costs a lot less. Though personally I wouldn't consider it unless they come out with a 20ga variant.
@208SledHead
@208SledHead 4 жыл бұрын
@@corneredfox What's the point of the KS7? Smaller than a traditional pump I guess, but you're paying quite a bit more for a smaller package with the same capacity that can be had with a used 870/500/590
@corneredfox
@corneredfox 4 жыл бұрын
@@208SledHead Comparing new to used is never really a fair point, used guns typically cost less than new as a rule of thumb. As for the purpose, what purpose does a KSG serve over a traditional pump? Practically there's not really any situation where I'd say it's the superior choice, the only exception maybe being a hiking gun in bear country, but you don't need 14 rounds for that.

Kyle showed that a semi-auto AR-15 is superior for self defense over any manually operated firearm like a pump shotgun. If you are taken to the ground by an angry mob, having 30 rounds on tap, operated with one hand if necessary is a life saver. I would take an AR any day over a shotgun for just about any self defense situation. Lighter, more capacity, faster rate of fire with fewer hands required, quicker reloads (typically), more compact and very effective. Superior in almost every way that matters for defense. That said, the KSG does have a certain 2nd kind of cool.

Just finished watching the Eat Lead series AGAIN. Love the KSG. It’s cool that this popped up on the 25. I’d like to see the other models reviewed more for a POU too. I bet the KSG 25 holds around 40 rounds of short shells. That is a ton of projectiles, almost 400 lead shot at about a 1/4 inch in diameter. Best guess.

Mixing lethal and non-lethal sounds stupid, but it might be nice to mix buckshot and slugs with the two tubes. You can easily label (permanent marker, tape, etc.) the furniture right next to the tubes on the bottom with what each tube contains, so in normal lighting conditions you won't get them mixed up.

I’d use the KSG25 for home defense if you don’t want it to be heavy then just don’t load it to full capacity. If it’s too long then just use it like the more conventional shotguns. The only quirk is your shooting hand will be tightly compressed with the support hand not far from it. It’s main advantage for me is the barrel length. With 590’s 30yrds is pushing it with shot shells but that’s with an 18.5” barrel while the 25 is more than double that. With that said 30yrds is easy and that’s my back door to the edge of my backyard. I’ve got no real desire to push beyond that.

I have the KSG (14+1) and some things I would give my 2 cents on. Yes the 14+1 is much better for indoors/personal defense. Another thing to note is not to use the lower rail on the pump action to attach anything (especially a vertical grip) as the plastic could snap (if this was metal it would be much MUCH better). Finally there's one first world problem, the KSG is sold out EVERYWHERE (in Canada at least). I don't know how bad it is down in the Land of the Free but as of Sept 7 2020 good luck finding one!
