W5GLS 6d Joe Finken Also BTW, SCCY (Century Arms, Canik, etc) just rolled out a handgun, an evolution of the Sig p365, called the DVG1. If the availability is there and the funding is there, it could be an interesting table-top or bunker review to show people if it's a competetor to the p365, Hellcat, or the MP Shield 2.0 9mm double stack. 6d Ricky Kurtz Hey LTC, have to respectfully disagree with regards to my choice of handgun(s). I will go with either my Glock 21 or my LAPD SWAT designed Robar hand built 1911 depending on the outing. I’ll deal with the weight. I have many hundreds hours of trigger time on a 1911 platform much less on the Glock21 but still a significant amout of trigger time on that platform. Also, I always have a backup handgun at all times with me. I’ve carried a firearm for most of my life and that fireare has been a 1911 and as of the past 8 years my other handgun as mention is the Glock21 with certain factor armourer upgrades. I do own many other handguns and trained with them, M9A2, M17, Glock30, etc You might wonder what’s a guy from IBM caring a firearm for. Work for the Military and law enforcement. Every time I go to watch your vids they don’t load and are super crap quality. I usually wait till you post on KZbin but nowadays looks like you don’t do that. My goals this year are to be properly squared away like a modern minute men of old. Various load outs and gear. Fitness is on point due to getting testosterone up 152% in the past 8 months. But my gear is severely lacking I need a light weight LBE plate carrier. My first spear Strandhogg is too big or something 6d Chris Marchi A2 iron sights..lots of ammo...heavy barrel? 6d David Crawford Fantastic, mindset first!! 6d SURVIVOR Lol great vid as usual. I do have a question for you @NuTNFancy? So I’m a POST treatment cancer patient and when you said be physical fit I started crying I was laughing so hard. So because I’m 5’2 and 115 pounds AND given my circumstance is there a way for me to be “tactically squared away” or am I just boned? Would love to hear your opinion on the matter. Hope I can shoot good 😂 6d Racing Psychosis That sucks. You have to figure a work around. I've had brain surgery for a tumor removal. While it was benign, it left me without hearing in one ear, missing the balance nerve on one side, fatigue issues coupled with vertigo occasionally, and facial nerve damage that gives my one eye trouble. Its 5-years, I'm still recovering and still getting better and figuring out work arounds for everything. Can you be tactically squared away, one way to think about that is knowing what your limitations are and trying to figure out what to do about them. Be as sound as you can be. If you know your limitations and are still a good shot, you probably are better prepared than that coach potato that thinks they can go out and do anything without ever even trying. Hopefully you are in remission, wish you the best. 2 5d Load 2 replies Ready-or-Not Physical fitness is critical. Everything - gear, mindset, fitness - are links in the same chain. Weakness in one or more can undermine strengths in another. As with all things, moderation and balance. 6d Matt Sharp Thanks for keeping it real Nutn 6d robin walker thanks 6d Priest Preach! I always laugh at these “gun guys” online and in the shops that are morbidly obese. Really enjoy your posts. 5d Steve Dutton Love the update, Nutn'. Keep it up, Bro. Uhhh, by "it" .. well, you know what i mean. Keep the other up, too. Damn, how do i get out of this rabbit hole? Did I just say hole? Son of a ..... 5d Logan **Yells into cheep plastic Megaphone** Thanks for the update Nutn, crank out PT 2 now! Also maybe you should make Soldier Boy Patreon exclusive? 1 5d Sam Brower I would run tavor and PPq M1 combo. I prefer how my tavor handles compared to my AR (bad wrists so having the weight closer into the shoulder works better for me) and i feel I shoot my PPQ better on average than my Glock19 and prefer the ergo’s. Those are my thoughts. 4d Dan the GW I always watch soldier boy, it's one of the reasons I became a patreon for you. I enjoy everything else, krv, wrv, and grv's too but, solider boy is my favorite. 3d Rusty Chains We are soft, yep! Most of us are carrying too much weight, no not stuff, lard. Woke up one day and discovered I was 40 pounds overweight, it took me several years to get that way so now I am working on my fitness. Developing the exercise habit and losing the lard still going to take several more months to get the rest of it off. Do the things and fix your personal readiness. 3d JDCoy That intro was too violent:( Now I'm triggered,, somebody give me a tissue. 3d Jordan Vallas got smoked by a pump paintball player in the early 2000's. dude was a beast, we didn't see it coming at all. too hyped up on our own ego and speed ball guns. Good times. 2d Scott Stevens In my experience, while paint balling, simply sprinting around the field (woodland) seemed to work better than you would expect. I guess no one expected us to be in certain areas so early in a match. Cardio gettin done. 1d Emerson Evans I can't WAIT... im glad its multiple parts though. Im hoping for feature length haha 11h James Toomey As far as weight lifting, check out the super slow method. This method is helping me regain strength after a Devastating Auto accident that ended a 20 year career as a PE teacher. While recuperating from the neck and back & arm surgeries I gained over 35 pounds of fat with a great deal of muscle wasting. Anyway Super Slow has enabled me to lose weight and gain muscle."

I’ve watched this video before. And I’ve been a TNPer since 2009. I’m almost 67 and this last year I lost 60 pounds and improved my physical condition immensely. BP is back to normal and my RHR is in the upper 40’s to 50’s. The weight loss came from going on the Keto diet and intermittent fasting. Honestly, exercise had nothing to do with it. But I’m working on getting into the gym a couple of times a week for 20-30 minutes. I’m not a great runner because I ran so much in my youth and my knees are wearing out. Proud to be a Patreon supporter of the channel. Thanks Nutnfancy for what you do.

15:09 "I think shooting accurately has a lot to do with mental toughness." Studies have shown that marksmanship is tied to iq, cognitive ability. Something as simple as pointing and shooting, which theoretically can be done by anyone of any skill level, still sorts people into a hierarchy based partially on the power of the mind. You make a plan, it doesn't work out exactly as planned, then you adapt. Mental toughness is key.

💯 agreed! (small caveat) I'm not being arrogant. To your point I've always been above average intelligence. Subsequently I ended up being the second highest Expert Riflemen in my platoon with a score of 234 out of 250; I was beat by 2 points. I also mastered every weapon system; 50 cal., Mk 19, M203 grenade launcher, Squad Automatic Weapon (5.56mm), and the Golf (7.62mm) machine gun. Intelligence absolutely matters!

Running is important. But in the experience of many, it comes for free with heavy barbell strength training. Increasing my squat and deadlift by over 200lbs in a couple years has done way more for my physical capability than other programs. Plus, heavy lifting actually provides sufficient heart rate increases to benefit running as well. Just throwing experience out there for anyone who could benefit.
@Southernguitar744 жыл бұрын
Definitely agree. If you are going to shape up, don't half ass it. Lifting is very beneficial for heart rate and muscle stamina, to mention nothing of strength gains.

I served with a marine (in the 90's) who smoked like a freight train. During a PFT (physical fitness test) the guy would be smoking at the starting line, the marine monitoring the test would yell go and this guy would take drag, throw down his cigarette, run 3 miles in 15 min and be smoking and drinking water as he walked around to cool area as the bulk of us came in at 18-19 minutes. What a MANIAC and weighed all of 150 pounds and would max the entire pft, sit-ups, pull ups, run etc. guy was a beast. We did a last man standing boxing match event while training in Death Valley. I ended up boxing the same guy, I figured I had this one, he's admin at hq and here I am a grunt and i have him by 20pnds. NOPE! Dude floated like a butterfly. He didn't hit that hard but I couldn't get him! Turns out dude was some type of home town boxing champ. Few days later we ended up as partners in a card game (spades I think) and became great friends, dude was a great marine and a really good guy. We wrestled a couple of times and when we went to the ground (and at the range) I'd own him, but boxing and running, NOPE!

Great stuff. Any chance we can get some info on small unit tactics in the next video? Being armed/equipped and physically and mentally tough is very important but at the end of the day, how are you going to execute with your team? Who is going to lead and who is going to follow? What tactics would you use to own your battlespace? How big of a group are you going to patrol with and who will be carrying key pieces of equipment (i.e. AWs, radios, breaching equipment, explosives, etc.)? If you and your people were to receive fire from an element 1/3rd your size while out on the range 150m away, how would you respond? I am no expert in any of this, I just am curious about your tactics. Thanks.

When you mentioned iron sighted guns it made me ponder something. The overlooked ethics and morals of shooting down range in wrol. In our urban environment, with easily penetrated sheet rock walls and children everywhere, I think it is important to consider having a magnified optic to identify your target. I think you'll say in response most engagements would probably be within 100 meters. Can I tell the difference between a hiding noncombatant and a combatant at 100 meters, honestly I've never tried. Fantastic Video. Absolutely spot on as usual. As a former infantryman. Our focus was to be the weapon. Everything else is tools of the trade. Always ready physically and mentally. Great video Nutnfancy

Working on it, but not physically ready for Soldier Boy. I’m training for 2021 Tactical Games, but if I got a SB call out, I would rock an M-1A.

Speaking of paintball. My english teacher from back in the day in high school was a past Army Ranger sniper, and he told us his paintball story: This paintball group that he also coached soccer for, challenged him to a paintball match in the woods. He accepted and told them, “Not only do I accept, but I will also only use a red sharpie marker (to simulate a knife).” They laughed at him. Come paintball match day, this guy took them ALL out from behind, one by one, with a red sharpie marker line drawn across their necks. He used various tactics that included leaving his boot poking out from behind a tree while one of them crept up only to realize he wasnt actually behind the tree, to using a plastic bag tied to a string to distract one of them while he snuck up behind, etc. Students used to ask him in class if he has ever killed anyone, to which he responded, “I dont like talking about it.” Such an awesome dude.

For my environment being almost all rural wooded areas, if i have reliable resupply then I'm rocking my PSAK-47 GF3 with 7.62x39 154 grain soft points. It will hit hard for most ranges in my area. If i don't have reliable resupply then I'm rocking the Bushmaster XM-15 in 5.56.

have you thought about something like soldier boy for concealed carry or "grey man" type events? meaning a force on force senario when all you have is your edc? something like active shooters or civil unrest. also, have you thought about buying a weighted dummy to test people on carrying an injured person?

On the smoking aspect. When I was going through basic at Ft. Benning in 1998, one of 4th Platoons Drill Sergeants, he had a Ranger tab, smoked like a chimney but ran like a deer.

The key to fitness is consistency. Whatever you do, you have to do it 3-4 times a week for several years. And you can never stop.

I'm physically tough, and mentally tough. Not in great shape. Four years ago I had a takosubo related heart attack. Didn't even know I had a heart attack. Didn't go to the doctor for two months (I hate the VA.) I was physically weak, bloated up, lethargic, and knocking on deaths door. Took 3 buses to the West LA VA. Got there in the knick of time, got admitted to MICU, spent two weeks. Got discharged, took the bus home, still feeling weak. A few days later took the bus back to the VA and spent another 5 days there. Spent most of my adult life in some form of discomfort. Survived in Skid Row for 15 years. Sorry for the rant. I'd be golden if I was in better shape.

I own a remodeling business, last summer we hired a guy who was a gym guru who probably bench more then 280 lbs had six pack abs he was gym strong, we were building a retainer wall and having to dig alot by hand with shovels and carry the block by hand long distance because of the terrain... We would run circles around the kid who was gym strong he could NOT keep up at all...

Your Soldier Boy drill is a combat exercise in open prairie/desert, maybe mountainous terrain more typical of the western states. Most people will be contending with far different terrain and surroundings. Given the terrain and conditions of Soldier Boy, the AR and AK platforms are better suited firearms than say the Tavor . . . which is far from a long range tack driver, but excels in urban environments, moving between indoor and outdoor engagements, as well as in and out of vehicles. Weapon choice is highly dependent upon the field of combat.

I've got a Mini and an AR.. but I drool over the Tavor. I have heard the triggers aren't great and like you said, they aren't intended for long range. But the Tavor is dead sexy.

Cool message. This is what I love about your channel. The message is spot on here, without fieldcraft, woodsmanship, stamina, and mental toughness, the best guns are useless in a adverse situation. While everyone possesses these qualities in varying degrees it's really important to know where your strengths and weaknesses are. Your ponytailed flannel friend was likely very self aware in that way, he knew his limits.

I agree, your mental and mind set is the most powerful tool in the box. A couple people in the right mindset with basic tools like a 22 and a couple basic dear rifles can cause extreme devastation.

I train way harder in martial arts and cardio than I do with firearms. I still concealed carry every day as well as own several rifles and shotguns but I think it’s more important to be a weapon than to own one.

Primary Arms makes the best quality budget optics. You can get an illuminated FFP 4-14x scope for $250, which is both durable and has properly tracking turrets.

Thank you for bringing in the fitness of being squared away. Your most important weapons are your mind and body before anything else! Honestly though even though my cardio has been doing well at this point, my cardio at your locality about a mile high up, I'd pass out.

What about an ar-15 non free floated with a scope and weaponlight? I can't make hits at 400 yards with a red dot. I've noticed that a red dot is good to about 200 to 250 yards or so. So basically, I have a value AR and glock 22 converted to 9mm.

Great video. I have one question for you and the fellow subs. You talked about having people with you. How do you and others start a conversation at an office job about being ready for, say, an active shooter situation without being flagged by HR? Clearly it’s a touchy subject and most people don’t carry inside a workplace.
@seribas4 жыл бұрын
In my short and limited experience id say to just carry concealed and dont tell anyone. I carry everyday at work and have found it just best that only I know. Im not breaking any laws so i dont see any reason to have to tell anyone. Grain of salt, to each their own, respect your local laws whether you choose to follow them or not just respect em.
