This recording of our Spring, 2024 seminar features four presentations on the topic of nutrition in health and brain health. Dr. Ingrid Tulloch provides an overview of the relationship between nutrition/gastrointestinal health and brain health, with Dr. Calliope Holingue providing a more in-depth discussion of the microbiome’s role. Chef Taueret Thomas discusses the way she implements nutrition in dementia care, and Dr. Terris King, Sr. follows by describing a nutrition-based program designed to help reduce health disparities. These presentations are followed by a panel discussion moderated by Rev. Dr. Alvin Hathaway.
This educational program was the result of collaborations between multiple groups at Morgan State University and Johns Hopkins. It was presented by Morgan State University's RCMI, ASCEND, and Center for Brain Health Research, and was co-sponsored by Morgan CARES, the Johns Hopkins Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, and the Johns Hopkins Alzheimer’s Disease Resource Center for Minority Aging Research.
