I had an opportunity to sit down with Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker and we talked about Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome.
Dr. Shoemaker has devoted his career to unveiling the complexities of Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome-caused by exposure to damp buildings, cyanobacterial blooms, dinoflagellates, spirochetes, apicomplexans, and recluse spiders: among others.
Dr. Shoemaker began the first biotoxin illness practice in the US in 2002 and has treated over 10,000 patients with CIRS illnesses. His non-profit research group, the Center for Research on Biotoxin Associated Illnesses, has raised over $2,000,000 for private funding of academic research. As a medical expert, Dr. Shoemaker has testified in over 200 cases.
If you haven't already done so, we recommend you watch the introduction to CIRS video first. • Not Getting Better wit...

By fate or destiny, I inherited Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker's 764 page book Surviving Mold---and it alone has changed everything for me. This interview is definitely one of THE MOST vitally important interviews on the internet today. Judy you asked the most intelligent questions I've ever heard from someone with your expertise! I'm sending awesome good, cosmic, and positive protection energy to those affected including myself and also to Dr. Ritchie and Nutritionist Judy!! They are both at the forefront of this evolutionary breakthrough and deserve all the support they can get from the global communities of CIRS affected persons and those who are still in the dark. CDC says it’s rare. If doctors aren’t being taught in Medical school, hospitals don’t have proper testing, and toxicology screenings aren’t done on routine or teaching autopsies they can not say with any scientific certainty how many people are actually affected. 😔

@@rosalindr4975 It was upstate that got us sick too. Shoemaker, Nathan, and all the others should be fighting to get this covered by insurance, knowing his many are sick. I’m tired of hearing it’s only 25% of the population when, I know, the numbers are far higher. Until they teach mainstream medical doctors about it’s health effects, have proper testing in hospitals, and do toxicology screenings on routine and teaching autopsies they can Not say with any scientific certainty how many people are actually affected. Here is were the military needs this protocol! The military and family members are exposed to lots of toxins that naturally occur around the world. Mold in homes is minor (Unless people come from a dry climate to a damp climate and don't know the precautions.) compared to buildings such as child centers, grocery, exercise centers, etc that both military and family members need to use on a weekly or daily basis. Add all the toxins that come along with big groups living together, machinery and war, you get lots of exposure, even in the water system. As he said 25% are getting issues, why aren't military Dr. the first to be caught up to speed on this???

@@krickenthekraken8844 well I read a book about it by Neil Nathan, the tests seemed expensive and obscure though, I was having a lot of issues in one room so I moved to another, which shouldn't have had any mold or water damage, started to feel better within weeks, but about 8 months later similar issues started to occur after I became more and more sensitive to air fresheners and laundry detergent. Now I'm living downstairs and sleeping on the floor and I am very sensitive to a lot of chemicals in the air and also react a bit to foods. Prior to 2022 my CFS/ME was moderate and predictable and I rarely would spontaneously start to react to chems that were previously ok. Its still a mystery to be honest but right now im considering whether it could be bacteria in my mouth thats causing the problem. I don't doubt mold is a big issue for some but I feel like my exposure has been consistent throughout my illness.

You were very charitable in this interview. He's very knowledgeable about CIRS but I found it hilarious how he thought that you were prescribing meditation and "feel good" protocols and that metabolic disease was not the focus of a meat based diet. Considering he is clearly himself metabolically sick I found it hard to continue listening, quite condescending.

Yes, it's difficult to listen to someone about metabolic health, who is obviously obese, and, therefore "metabolically sick".

I definitely see your point, he could have other stuff going on as well. OR I’ve noticed that people that do something for a living often don’t do that in their personal life. I know people that clean houses immaculately for a living BUT their own home is always a gross disaster. I know therapists that have major personal issues, and relationship problems. Or people like acupuncturists and chiropractors who know better but eat tons of junk food and don’t exercise etc.. It definitely is best to live by example but I don’t know if it means that you suck at your job lol 😂 (maybe?)

I have mold in my house. Im UK based. I began getting sick 6 yeara ago, started with flu type symptoms, aching joints, sore throat, chronic fatigue. I was diagnosed with M.E 2 years ago. Last year i got cauda equina twice and had two spinal surgeries and im slowly getting much worse. I now have severe problems with memory, have muscle fasciculations 24/7 jerks of limbs, tremors and i hurt everywhere. I feel like im slowly dying and theres no help here in the uk. 😔 My inflammation markers are always raised. I feel like I've been plugged into a socket.

what about Greska's C-60,which goes into the mitochondria and detoxes it? Wouldn't that work? I've heard the toxins are negatively charged and therefore cholestyramine which is positively charged removes it-which is correct-do you know?

Dr. Shoemaker is a genius, but I don't like how he brought up the family planning...people should still have kids if they want kids, and just teach them to keep away from water damaged buildings if they have one of the affected genotypes.

Really great information. Question 1: Will Carnivore diet reduce glucose uptake do to “non-tight” junctions in the stomach or intestine? Seems it would due to non consumption. Question 2: He’s not suffering from active inflammation, possible. Why does he look overweight? It appears he could use the Carnivore Cure approach with his protocol……

I understand it all as well. When you’re sick you research until you find the truth. Take some time to go to his website (Surviving Mold) or listen to lectures by Dr. Andrew Heyman or Dr. Scott McMahon who work with Dr. Shoemaker. One podcast will not give a person all he needs to know.

This is an answer to a long decade of an earnest prayer I’ve prayed of simply “what in the Sam Hill is wrong with me?!” 🥹… There’s one common theme (even with my mother’s VERY aggressive Alzheimer’s, onset at age 55😳)-fishing as a main means of food throughout my childhood, & mold. I have *one missing answer here* , and it’s been brought about by what lead me to this video: I’ve had a crazy last couple of weeks, stressed out to an inglorious degree, trying to identify things: *Epidermal hyper-absorption* . I’ve been progressively sicker over the last month, my family as well… in trying to find that source itself, I discovered the hardcore water damage and subsequent mold issues we have in our apartment. Bingo. I’ll spare most of the “more bizarre than the question itself” details on this, but what I’d like to know is this: can CIRS cause my epidermis to become a collector of things? We recently got new mulch, bringing with it artillery fungus-and the spores are now all around my apartment, but ALSo, under my finger and toe nails… Took a detox bath a few days ago and there were things that came out of my skin that were just… beyond belief, some of the six-legged variety 👀… Can this be related to a decrease in lipids?
