Hey Johnny! Just a few blocks away from your place, there is a convent named the Franciscan Convent. You can find it on Google Maps. Visit that place. There is a small sales outlet there by the Franciscan Sisters, that sells locally made Wine, Strawberry and other fruit Jams, Marmalades and Juices as well. So fresh they are. You'll enjoy for sure. Try it out ❤️💪

While you are in Nuwara Eliya town I suggest you must visit the highest village (in terms of elevation from sea level) in 🇱🇰 called Shanthipura. Just get a tuk tuk or you can walk up the road to the viewpoint. Also do not miss the Heritance Tea Factory Hotel which is in the clouds 17 km from the 7 Oaks. ❤

The iconic Nuwaraeliya post office building is a landmark of the town from colonial days bygone days postmaster & family used to live on top floor real nice place to live middle of town over looking the Victorian park. Johnny, if you can, check out Jetwing Yala. Get a room on the top floor with a beach view. You’ll be able to see both the sun set and the sun rise over the water, which is unique. Don’t bother with any floors below the top floor. The view is amazing, and it’s unique, with sand dunes, beach, and forest full of animals. It also has one of the longest pools, since you’re impressed with the length of the pools. The pool is elevated, so your view is rather unique into the forest. You’ll have elephants, warthogs, monkeys, and deer visiting the hotel everyday. If you can get a safari in Yala, it will be a fun ride, although not many elephants. You may see leopards and other animals. Rates are very reasonable at Jetwing Yala, food is good, and a true hidden gem. There’s a video on KZbin of an elephant inside the lobby of this hotel. This doesn’t happen that often, but there are elephants in the hotel premises almost every day.
