There are fans who believe Nux actually made it to the real Valhalla due to his sacrifice. Nux repeatedly tries to get himself killed to get to "Valhalla", which is wanting glory in death for himself. He's successful in his fourth attempt because he sacrifices himself for what he loves (which is Capable, the red head, and his newly formed friends). In ancient Nordic tradition, dying in a Heroic Sacrifice makes you one of the Worthy Dead to go to Valhalla. In fact, there are a few people who noted that the Vuvalini can be seen as the film's version of the Valkyrie and noted the area where Nux crashes into looks like a gate.

@@lordjimbo2eh, there's more reasons to that beyond having a female protagonist. It's one of those things where just because you don't like it doesn't mean you're sexist, but if you are sexist you definitely hate it. Besides the fact that Fury Road was released pre-covid and the film industry changed a whole lot in those few short but long years. Furiosa was good, but Anya is not Charlize, and Fury Road is an absolute masterpiece that Furiosa was always going to have a hard time replicating. It's going from a 12/10 movie to an 8.5/10 movie. One of the absolute best action films of all time, and one of my favorites. When it’s available to watch, I strongly recommend watching the prequel that recently came out: “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.” It is an awesome film that shows the start of her journey when she’s taken as a kid, leading up to her getting her start at the citadel. Because Furiosa is younger in this film (starts as a kid and is eventually in her teens or 20’s), she’s played by two younger actresses (including Anya Taylor Joy), and both actresses do a fantastic job. Chris Hemsworth (Thor) also plays one of the main villains in it and is excellent in the film. I’ve seen people bitching and moaning about things they didn’t like about the movie, and at least 90-95% of those complaints are bullshit. It’s an awesome film; definitely check it out. Besides Fury Road and Furiosa, there are three other Mad Max films, all three of which were made a long while before Fury Road, which is the fourth installment in the series. They are, in order, “Mad Max” (originally released in 1979), “Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior” (typically known in the U.S. just as “The Road Warrior”), and “Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome” (featuring Tina Turner as one of the main antagonists). These films definitely have a lower budget than Fury Road, but with the little they had, they still pulled off some amazing and intense scenes, especially in the first two of these three. The third movie is very different from the other two and not quite as intense, but it still has its good moments and is still worth watching. In these three films, Max was played by a young Mel Gibson. For “Fury Road,” they had to recast the Max character, since Max wasn’t planned to have been a lot older by that point in the story and so much time had passed since the earlier films.
