So many smart decisions by characters good and bad in this movie. Furiosa wearing her hair as a wig to get away, the biker tying Furiosa to himself back to back so Mary wouldn't risk taking the shot. Even Dementus puppeting one of his guys as a human shield to spot Furiosa sniping.

Dementus is far from "stupid" he was able to take over gastown along with the bullet farm and he probably wouldve taken the citadel if Furiosa hadn't told Immortan Joe his plan but the fact that he was still able to hold out the 40 day war despite being snitched on is impressive

Why would studios continue to give George Miller over 200 million dollars to make a film that can't even make back half the budget, not including marketing. No matter how creative he is, it makes no sense to greenlight a budget like this for him anymore, at least anytime soon.

I highly recommend the MADMAX game, it was written at the same time as FuryRoad and Furiosa, and it was supposed to be an extension of the overall story, so it fits right in… Scrotus, and Chumbucket (who makes a brief appearance in this movie) are both in it, along with GasTown… it also explains the maggots, and how maggot-farming works… great expansion to the overall lore of the Fury Road kingdom.

I was waiting for the reveal of The Wasteland as the bottom of the ocean, with shipwrecks sticking out of the dunes the oil rigs hundreds of feet up in the air. @@RolandDeschain1 right? from what I understand, the game is no longer considered "canon", BUT it was clearly written at the same time as a natural expansion of the "Fury Road Kingdoms", and all the pieces still fit right in so smoothly! Dementus is such an interesting typa character for this. He's just like everybody else but he collects resources and people to make himself seem above everyone, like you'd swear bro thinks he's jesus in his first scene. He's just a wasteland mf like everyone else but he's just smart enough and theatrical enough to gain a following, not at all what I was expecting from a Hemsworth villain edit: I think the most consistent thing about Furiosa is that any person in her vicinity she cares about always trumps revenge OR her freedom. It's why she made the mistake of going back for her mom, why she risked her escape and revenge on Dementus to go back for Jack, and why she goes back for the wives even tho she's fully capable of trying to find the green place on her own by then

It was a shame that this movie underperformed. I don’t think it’s as good as Fury Road but it was a very good movie and all the performances were great. I get people getting tired of remakes and sequels, and I get that folks don’t feel like they have as much spending money for movies like they used to (especially with streaming). And I can't stress enough how this isn't bad movie... it just above average nothing really to complain about but people want to see Max in a Mad Max movie so a lot of the core fan base who loves Max skipped out I think if they would have just called it Furiosa!! it would have done a lot better because then people wouldn't be disappointed in seeing the name of mad max used because they don't trust in Furiosa... when I think there was a big core fan base for her character in mad max

@@chrishernandez8504 I think this movie was originally supposed to come out a year or so after Fury Road as a stop-gap between Fury Road and The Wasteland. Unfortunately it didn't worked out that way. I think if it did it would have gotten a better reception. It's basically a solid movie that came out 8 years too late. I kind of agree about the "A Mad Max Saga" title. Something like "Furiosa-A Road Warrior Tale" would have worked out better; but Mad Max is a marque name and Furiosa isn't, so the studio probably insisted in having Mad Max in the title. Still I'm glad this movie was made. I loved the world building in it. Imo, if you consider it a Mad Max film, I'd put it in the middle of the pack; better than the first one and Thunder Dome but not as good as The Road Warrior and Fury Road

Furiosa was incredible. Mad Max Fury Road is George Miller’s Masterpiece in an impressive body of work that has spanned over 5 decades. Though it’s in the Mad Max universe & directly related it’s not fair to compare Furiosa to Fury Road. It should be looked at as a standalone film & as such, it is incredible film. I think many people wanted another strap-you-to-a-rocket ride that is Fury Road but although it is based in the Wasteland & shares characters, the backdrop, etc it’s a very different film. The pacing is slower, there’s more dialogue, more characters, etc I think many people incorrectly believed it was a feminist styled Girl Boss poisoning of Mad Max but that couldn’t be further from the truth. It’s a shame it didn’t do better in the box office because it’s such a creative & fun ride. George Miller & crew are so detail oriented with the Wasteland as they make all the vehicles, costumes, tools, etc with so much care We see how wastelanders would conceivably live with repurposed items. Again, the creativity with the Mad Max ethos, pathos, etc makes it so immersive. For example, the signal flares they use are called “Sky Blood” by the War Boys. I love how one of the bikers shoots it into the ground which gives red hair to Dementus & Furiosa. It’s little details like this that make it so good. How George Miller was able to make it indelibly Mad Max & Fury Road with a different vibe is a testament to his mastery. Even the low-key dark & dry comedy was welcome & added a different touch to very dark subject matter. It’s a brutal film as it represents the brutality that is the Wasteland but Miller was able to balance things well. I loved this movie & one should see it & hear it in all its glory on the big screen. Haven’t watched your reaction yet but I’m pretty sure you guys are going to love it. Going to jump into your reaction now.🙂👍 Edit: BTW, Scrotus is played by Josh Helman who played Slit in Fury Road, Nux’s Lancer

@@KenjiMapes Because it was a more mainstream release with an insanely large budget. So of course more eyes are gonna see it thus "immortalizing" him. But that doesn't make Fury Road the best Mad Max movie by default. Road Warrior is 100% on par with it.

This is absolutely my favorite Chris Hemsworth role. He brought so much to it. And that conversation at the end is one of my favorite scenes in recent memory if not one of my favorites ever. Just so so good. Happy everyone on the couch liked it, it really does deserve much more love than it’s got. It’s not fury road good, but it’s still so solid

This is my favorite film of the year at this point. Absolutely epic viewing experience in theaters. The cinematography blew me away. Hemsworth is so good at being goofy yet threatening... powerful and pathetic. Both Furiosa actresses were wonderful. Wish more people went to see it in theaters. Something about Australia just screams EPIC

They actually spread oil to dampen the dust, preventing it from flying around. This way, vehicles don't kick up dust, and the citadel won't see them coming. Dementus had a pretty good plan and it would have worked, if Furosa did not escape and returned to the Citadel.

One of the reasons movies are flopping is the streaming industry. Movies are taken off theaters before they can find their footing. Furiosa was only on the big screen for about 2 to 3 weeks before it was removed. Companies expect a high revenue from the get-go and if that doesn't happen, they quit immediately.

I think Rana has Dementus all wrong. He's not intelligent, but by no means is he stupid. He has a very high level of charisma, which he uses to his advantage, and he is very crafty, as shown when he took Gastown and bargained with Immortan Joe. He just has no ability to run a larger group or hold down a fort because he's not built for that kind of living.

Until she stands up with her hair flowing on the front of the war rig and driver Jack first sees her, they were using AI deepfake to blend the two actors faces. Once she stands up and shows her hair, it is fully Anya’s face Also that whole scene where they fight off the mortar fires and the octoboss, took 73 days to film

One of the main reasons I don't think this movie did well with OG Mad Max fans, is that there's WAYYYYYY too much CGI for the car scenes. The first one avoided it so well where possible and this one just had wayyyyy too much. Same with the motorcycle scenes as well. There's also that Max is hardly in it at all, which is obvious because it's called Furiosa, but it still feels bad for OG Mad Max fans. That's not me, but I went with my pops and that was one of his gripes about it.

Also, like it was mentioned on the couch, Furiosa is just instantly allowed into their group, even though they should have been searching for her. She built her arm in a fast forward sequence, and then we hardly saw any of the war between gas town, bullet farm and the citadel. Which is ALOT of movie they could have shown.
