"He can get HURT?" That really made my heart sink, Blitzø never even once considered how Stolas might feel throughout their relationship, he felt like "he’s an immortal prince, he’ll get over it". But it took Stolas to genuinely get physically hurt for Blitzø to realize that he isn’t unbreakable, even if he never saw how much he suffered mentally, he is finally starting to realize that he’s in pain.

To double down on this... I think that the backdown on the text might have been 'Regret' taking over. With the idea that Stolas can get hurt, and especially looking at their text history, 'How much have *I* hurt Stolas?'
@Wixvhen Жыл бұрын
@Millo Eisa 100% just as likely. But with those walls of text with 1 line replies over and over... How could Blitz not feel something after recognizing? It could even be both together. 'Holy shit, I don't wanna hurt him... But look at all that hurting I've done already... I can't send this.' Hell, knowing him, his knee jerk reaction was probably go ASK 'You can get hurt!? Why didn't you tell me!?' but holy crap that would have been a dumpster fire of a first or even second text. So he backed off before he made a mistake or asked any questions that he now realizes could be stupidly bad in retrospect. And now... Stolas has been left on 'Read'.

@Wixvhen Жыл бұрын
@Zek Draco I can put this in a way that might actually upset you and put the comparison into stone. Ironmouse. She's a sickly vtuber girl who takes a lot of medicine. We know and accept it's possible she might die from her illness. But it's one thing to know it's possible... And another for her to miss a scheduled stream. And then another. And another... No noise from anybody from Vshojo or anything because they don't know what happened either, and don't want to alarm people if she's okay. Come to find out, she's in the hospital and won't be coming back out anymore. The vtuber Ironmouse is gone. Anybody could accidentally veer their car into oncoming traffic, anybody could have a bad step and not get back up, and anybody could just have a vessel pop in their head and they're dead before they reach the ground. It's all a real possibility, but knowing it and seeing it actually happen are so starkly separated that sometimes you don't really get it until nonfiction becomes reality. Seeing those tail feathers fluttering by was probably the most sobering thing that could happen to Blitz, who sees Stolas as his immortal deus ex machina that he does actually care for. When it's 'untouchable' you can do whatever you want with it and it'll be fine. When it can be hurt... The thing might very wrll become far too precious to touch.

It really feels like Blitz wants to have that normal and loving relationship like M&M but he simply can't do it. He can't do the things he needs to in order to have it. He can't confront his trauma or fight what his trauma causes in him (I've a theory that due to his mother's passing, he HATES hospitals. And this seems to be right bc he hasn't visited Barbie in the rehab clinic). And I can relate to Blitz in the sense that I truly was in a relationship where all it was was him wanting me to, you know, him. And he would pretend to care if he sensed me slipping from his grasp. But the difference is that Stolas is genuinely in want of the little things about love. Watching a movie and cuddling, making food together or ordering delivery, going on actual dates. Blitz wants that too, I feel, but again he isn't acknowledging it. I relate to Stolas in that regard bc every relationship I've had, I've wanted and needed those things, but never received them in turn. It was always just me, drowning, holding onto the side of a raft while my partners were sitting still and dry in it. I've met my Millie and I've married her too. She got me out of the water and breathed life back into me. And it will be devastating to anyone who seems a glimmer of themselves in either Stolas, Blitz, or both if (likely when) things truly end between them. Either ending in death or, arguably worse, ending with them never speaking to each other again beyond sharing custody of the grimoire. I just hope, for once, we can avoid the bad end; maintenance of the status quo.

I feel like the Loona/Blitzø fight was supposed to demonstrate how Blitzø was so removed and unaware of the severity with the Stolas situation. There's also a bit of a power dynamic to the relationship that further fuels the whole "untouchable" aspect too. We saw last season in the episode with the government facility, and again at the begining of season 2, that Blitzø and Stolas both percieve the OTHER as having all the power in the relationship. In Blitzø's case, it was super-obvious, with the hallucinated Stolas being perched far above him on a throne, and the whole gold chains thing. The percieved power dynamic on Blitzø's side would have helped feed directly into his perception of Stolas as being "untouchable," so it's why he's so shocked he actually got hurt. It looks like even during that first enounter with Striker, he didn't actually believe Striker would kill Stolas, he was more worried for Moxxie and Millie (and pissed that Striker hurt them), and that Stolas might break their contract/deal if Blitzø and Co. didn't put on a good enough "show" of protecting him.

The character context of this episode was more in line with the show don't tell idea. The character beats are there they just aren't spoken. The B-plot was solely their to not have Blitzø directly involved with the rescue. The ending is all about guilt, that's why Blitzø doesn't respond to the text about visiting him in the hospital. He feels guilty about not taking him seriously when he asked for help, and seeing that he got hurt, realizing that he "could" get hurt would also make Blitzø start realizing that he could have hurt Stolas himself in the past which is just piling the guilt on him, especially since Stolas is the only person we've ever seen Blitzø really care about.

I’ve seen that some people of been trying to claim that Stella’s character is devolving. But really, this is the first episode that they’ve ever had her interact with anybody other than Stoliis, and by a smaller extension Striker. Meaning that the character we’re getting from her when she’s interacting with her brother is her character. It’s just that fan comics had depicted her as an unfortunate soul. Now we’re being shown that she’s an idiot, who only really cares about throwing lavish parties and being rich. I mean, she was convinced by her brother, to stop her assassin from killing Stoliis, simply, because if he succeeded all of the money, he wouldn’t go to her but her daughter. Plus, I think the reason that Stella’s brother kept saying things like, it’s a good thing she’s attractive. Is because being attractive is her only good quality. (while I admit, the fiery vixen line is a little concerning. I don’t think he was actually flirting with her.)

With events of episode 6 in mind - namely, Stolas securing a crystal from Asmodeus that will let Blitz run I.M.P. without ties to the owl prince - how his revelation in this episode will play into his reaction will be interesting. Because Stolas being injured here shows Blitz he can't keep taking Stolas lightly; while the crystal of Asmodeus offers Blitz a chance to either take their relationship more seriously and sincerely or cut things off altogether (while also very clearly showing Stolas's sincerity of his feelings, by offering to end the power imbalance/transactional nature if their relationship). the B-plot is very similar to the chem baron meeting scene in Arcane 1. the characters react as if it's a chore 2. the audience picks up on this and doesn't really want to watch or care too much 3. the stakes are fairly low Arcane uses the scene to show Silco being his normal self, when he's not dealing with stuff like Jinx that really gets to him personally, and Helluva boss uses the scene to show how vulnerable Loona is in, we don't see her acting like this really outside of the flashback to when she was in a dog-orphanage-impound-thing, this is also one of the few scenes in the show where we get to see Blitzo acting like a good dad, and clearly this is going to be future setup for all of that in the future it's comic to add a bit of lightheartedness to the episode, not just because all episodes try to do a bit of that, but it doesn't land super well because of the severity of the A-plot, wherein Stolas was relying on blitzo specifically to save him, like, instead of calling his hell army or a bodyguard or whatever, he calls Blitzo for help, the only one he can trust, and we get to see Blitzo prioritise an injection for Loona higher than the call from Stolas, and Stolas also has a facade here, he cries silently in the choo-choo cave when striker goes away to cool off because he's absolutely terrified, but when calling Blitzo the entire time he pretends to act like it's only a minor issue even when it clearly isn't this, along with the text message since Ozzies, is a perfect way to demonstrate how their relationship operates. As in, it doesn't exist offscreen at all. the only time they text eachother we get to see it, even though plenty happens offscreen, like, putting all the pieces together, Blitzo is the person Stolas trusts most in the world, trusting noone else with anything of importance, but they only ever interact when something important happens Blitz: when he is trying to spy on M&M at their anniversary Stolas: when his life is in literal danger Also Blitzo doesn't even try to spell words correctly at all, whereas Stolas sends formal brittish emails by text with extra loopholes to make sure Blitzo doesn't have to confront either of their feelings... This is not a big plot momento episode, it is a build up and development episode, and the awkward feeling it gives you is intentional, having experienced a relationship distantly similar to theirs, obviously in the real world so it was entirely non-sexual, involved completely different people, neither of which was a demon lord, or married to a Karen, or getting regularly assassinated, and alot less dramatic, the feeling it gives you is more or less exactly the same, a kind of tension that doesn't go away, and when you're all alone it's all you can think about it's honestly really hard to make episodes that fill this role an S tier, because the emotions that it gives you is usually fairly weak by itself, I'd put this executed at A rank overall, but it sets up potential for an S tier follow up episode

Dude someone pointed out in another ep on here that Stolas only talks dirty the scary way he does because he THINKS Blitz likes it, so rewatching the show through Nux let me see that Stolas is LITERALLY just the same silly little baby he was when he was a kid and I find that hilarious. He’s just a big goobish nerd who REALLY wants to be with the only person in his whole life who he ever had fun with who just TALKED to him. He’s a prince waiting for his prince. He was waiting his whole life for Blitz. For the IDEA of Blitz, based off of his one night interpretation from when he was little. Then Blitz swooped back in as an adult and escalated that longing to what he saw as an in reach fantasy. Blitz probably doesn’t even REMEMBER their meeting and I don’t blame him. I think Stolas thought he was getting his fairytale ending when he announced the divorce on his balcony and that makes me feel so sad for him. He’s aware of politics but seems to mentally disassociate from them. I don’t think he was thinking through the lens of ‘I’m a powerful obscure politician who can’t be seen as an real person by my citizens’ when he giddily accepted Blitz’s public date, when he fought the humans, or when Striker kidnapped him. He’s just LITERALLY not WIRED to be royalty. He doesn’t have the lens for it. From the jump he’s only ever just tried to be himself, and every time he’s not it’s because of an outside force, not from his lack of showing his heart on his sleeve. He made it so clear he was miserable at the idea of marrying Stella, for a WHOLE day. He didn’t hide his politeness or giddiness as a kid with Blitz. He never once pretended to be happy with Stella or to be in love with her. He looks miserable and she looks evil in EVERY portrait. He tries with Blitz over and over again. Not sexually, but romantically. He tries to make a connection. Stolas is Stolas to a FAULT, he never got to live his life, so while he loves his daughter, he’s literally never mentally processed that most parents act as if their life is over to focus on their kids. Stolas is still waiting for his life to begin and trying to perpetuate it. That is GREAT character writing.

At first glance, it seems like just another animated show with wild comedy and outrageous antics, but as I've watched, I've come to realize that beneath all the chaos, there are layers of heartbreak and profound themes about relationships, loss, and the quest for redemption. One character that particularly struck a chord with me was Moxxie. His struggles with self-worth and the pressures of fitting into a world that often feels so unforgiving is something I think many of us can relate to. The way he navigates his feelings of inadequacy while trying to prove himself to his friends and loved ones really resonates. It reminds me of my own experiences where I often feel trapped by my insecurities, grappling with a fear of not being enough, both professionally and personally. The episode where we dive deeper into Millie and Moxxie's relationship absolutely broke my heart. Seeing the way they support and uplift each other, while also facing external challenges, made me reflect on my own relationships. It’s a reminder that love isn’t just about the good times; it’s also about weathering the storms together. It made me think about my partner and the sacrifices we both make for each other, which can sometimes lead to moments of tension. Then there’s the character of Blitzo, who embodies a mix of bravado and vulnerability. He presents this tough exterior, yet when you dig a little deeper, you see a character who is desperately trying to connect but often pushes people away. It was heartbreaking to witness his interactions with the other characters, especially in moments where his past traumas are hinted at. It really opened my eyes to how we often erect walls around our hearts to avoid getting hurt, which can lead to loneliness and regret. In a bizarre way, these exaggerated representations of hellish situations force us to confront our own realities. They challenge us to think about how our actions, even in jest, can have significant consequences on those we care about. Helluva Boss makes me laugh, but it also makes me reflect deeply on my own life choices and relationships. So, thank you to the creators for crafting such layered characters and storylines. You've managed to blend humor and heartache in a way that truly resonates. This isn’t just a show about demons and chaos; it’s a narrative about the human experience, with all its complexities. I didn’t expect to be so affected by what seemed like a mere comedy, but here I am, emotionally i

"why is this a BOP?!" Me: cause it's a Vivziepop show! and yeah, i was saddened by this episode too, that night down at Ozzies shook them both to the very core, ruining the relationship those two were building. Blitz definitely has a lot of emotional baggage, so when Stolas hid like he was ashamed, it basically convinced him that what they have was sexual and nothing more.

Wonder how Octavia will react. She will likely be Strikers next target seeing as she is Stolats heir.
@UltimateGamerCC Жыл бұрын
i dont think that is a problem as of yet, having her offed would do nothing but have the Goetia family go to war against Stella's family, Stella knows that she would get nothing, also there may even be the slightest chance that she cares about her offspring at least a little.
@justinholdt1806 Жыл бұрын
I mean both Stolas and Blitz were both not taking this kidnapping seriously that he would actually be in danger. Blitz was probably always under the impression that since he was powerful and a royal that he wouldn't be able to get hurt. Now Blitz knows this and has shown some genuine concern for him. I think the bigger question is how much will Octavia find out about this attack on her father's life. More than likely Stella will lie. Eventually Octavia will find out the truth I just hope not at her father's last breaths.

The B plot really took away from the episode because it kept pulling us away from the action. The only reason I see for it was to make Blitz unable to come rescue Stolas. I think alot of it has to do with Stolas thinking of their relationship as kinda a fairy take (very horny one tho). When he was kidnapped he saw himself as the princess and Blitz would be his knight in shining armor that would rescue him. Don’t forget he rescued Blitz (and company) from the secret agents in Season 1 Episode 6. So this really hurt his heart that Blitz never came and he realizing from this and from the text that Blitz does not actually care about him. If you look at the text messages Stolas writes paragraphs like someone spilling their heart out, while his are a single sentence or couple of words which is someone very closed off and not really caring.
@crimsonknight7011 Жыл бұрын
I mean we all know something tragic happened to Blitz to make him so cold to others and such, but Stolas doesn’t know that and Blitz would not tell him that. So as far as Stolas sees Blitz just doesn’t actually love him at all.

Personally I don't like how they made Stella out to be an idiot. It would've been better if she just cared about getting revenge on Stolas. They could've instead have Andrealphus convince Stella that getting his money would make the revenge even better. That way you keep Stella as a threat while still having Striker called off.
@Idcidancecool Жыл бұрын
I was disappointed I expected Stella to be something greater than just evil wife. Usually the characters have more story to them. For example, I thought that Stella was a thundere I mean it’s hell why would the demons care about the holy matrimony of a wedding? What demons would care about cheating in hell? It’s weird that she’s angry if she didn’t care about him.
@BrandonLee365 Жыл бұрын
If I had to wager anything it was effectively public humiliation for her because as we see in the pilot Blitzo literally crashes one of her parties after their little interaction. That said, she's also kind of stupid if she was just trying to take Stolas' wealth and power. Can't even be a proper gold digger XD
@AnInsideJoke Жыл бұрын
It is kind of disappointing, especially after even Stella's VA mentioned during a livestream that there was supposed to be more to the character, and that we would see it. Hopefully it's just a case of us not having gotten to the Stella episode yet.

@@AnInsideJoke This shit was there since episode 2. Anyone who saw her being abusive, screaming, throwing shit, and referring to their daughter more like an object, and went, "Ah yes, this is gonna be a deep character and not just a piece of shit" was delusional. At best there is probably a crappy upbringing that helped develop her this way, but at no point is her character going to be redeemable.

@AnInsideJoke Жыл бұрын
@@SleepyStreak Oh, I never said redeemable, just that they hinted at a promise of there being something more there. And honestly, trying to "redeem" her feels like it might just end up flattening the character. Not really sure what all the fuss over her is at times anyway, why some want her to be redeemed so much. Maybe it's just a case of either wanting her to be a better mom for her kid, or just because people think she's hot.

I think its true that Blitzo didn't take Stolas being in danger seriously, but I feel the point of the B-Plot was that it wasnt just some dumb shit that he was blowing him off for this time. He had to take his daughter in for something she needed and they made it clear he wasnt getting another chance to get it done. He literally couldnt make it this time, even though from the outside it'd juat be another time Blitzo doesnt care. Same with the ending texts. From the outside it looks like he's just ghosting Stolas again, but he probably can't stand seeing Stolas actually being severely hurt like this and probably blames himself for it, and i imagine the next episode will probably address this. (To be fair sending Millie and Moxie was probably a good bet for this to be done right anyway.)

as for why the karen fish thought blitzo was a wrathian. there is a youtuber who talked about the society in hell and how the imps spread from the wrath ring. also how most of greed is water which prevents the land dwelling hellions from taking it over. with the exception of the land sections. example being moxies father who is arguably a overlord. leading most of the greed ring to not even be aware of the imps take over. which would most definitely explain why that karen fish though blitzo was both wrathian and jobless.

@@alisond929 probably the same place looloo land was on. which is the greed ring, if you recall that fizzarolli owned looloo land. he probably inherited the business from blitzo father. having been the most successful clown. and built it up into the rip off known as looloo land. there is other things too that hint to its location. i imagine it takes money to use the trains to the other layers. and recall that blitzo was in prison. same prison moxie ended up in. which is the greed ring.

stolas and blitz relationship is kind of a love-hate one...final episode of season 1 made blitz think of something on their relationship, and this episode showed that blitz took everything for granted and not knowing that stolas could be hurt, so it might be that blitz and stolas would become an official couple later down or they might be some kind of friends with benifit relation, where they would still be the same, or stolas would stop hounding blitz and only ask him for help when he needs it and focus on his daughter
