NVIDIA GRID K2 on VMware View running Solidworks

Chris, I did this awhile ago with tech preview code. What you are most likely using now is GA code. In tech preview (and in other videos I have on youtube) I have done direct on multiple GPUs without issue. I did one test where I did 4 directs using a K1 (its supports 4 unlike the K2 which supports 2). I agree shared graphics doesn't have a ton of value. Direct GPU is the only way to get an engineering workload to work on VDI.

Sure. I'm running vSphere 5.1, VMware View 5.2, and an NVIDIA K2 card all on a Dell R720 (with the GPU kit - which means it has dual 1100 watt power supplies). I carved half of the K2 up and sent it direct passthrough to this VM. The other half is running in the "shared" mode and although it works its not as fluid.

Hi Gunnar, Can you split the k2 ( which has 2 GPU's ) into 2 , and direct passthrough to 2 VMs? Thanks Raj
