Sorry about the slightly garbled parts of the audio in this one.

Try to buy short extension cables for each graphics card that you regularly plug in/out and leave them connected to the graphics cards. This way you can remove the cards and leave the extensions plugged into them reducing the wear on the sockets. I started doing that in my Amiga days and it's stuck with me. Saved me a lot of USB and monitor sockets over the years!

fantastic review mate! I've been toying with the idea of replacing my 1080 with a 3060 ti because the price is so low right now but then again I might hold out a few months to see what the 4060 cards look like. I keep going back and forth, sigh.

amazing how solid the 1080 cards are after all this time. nice video!

Yeah, they're still really good. And thanks!

I upgraded from a 1070 to a 3050 for one reason. Power consumption, or - specifically - heat production. -Dx
@BenchyTests2 жыл бұрын
I think fully loaded the 3060 Ti pulls about 50 or so watts less than my 1080 could.

The 1% and 0.1 were a little bit weird looking at the averages. Although, the 3060ti had a crazy margin going from the 1080.

I think sometimes there can just be really brief hitches that bring it down, that might not always happen. Being just me running the channel I can't do enough test runs to iron them out. But yeah, it's crazy seeing what a current gen '60 series card can do compared to what used to be the best.

The Rtx 3060 Ti is a great card, i had it for a year before i upgraded to a rtx 3080, definitely a great GPU

I had an identical upgrade (1080 to 3060 Ti) some time ago and I don't regret. My CPU is worse (i5-8600k OC'ed to 4,6), but I play single player games in 1440p and I'm still mostly GPU-bottlenecked.

Very strange how it renders slower, I noticed the big frame spikes aswell.. was thinking of upgrading my 1080 to this card as they’re going for around 400 now
@BenchyTests Жыл бұрын
It could just be my specific use case. GPU rendering has gotten better in recent Resolve updates, so it might be better than the 1080 now, I'm not sure.

Does sound abit sus about the seller. Hopefully you'll not have any issues once you've been able to swap the fans. I don't think you really need more power then that unless your doing things with VR or 4K monitors. Not that I play that many current games.

In my country Rtx 3060 ti price is €580 and GTX 1080 €280. Will I give € 300 just for 26 fps. 🤔
@BenchyTests2 жыл бұрын
Wouldn't be worth it. Unless you specifically want ray tracing or DLSS then the 1080 is still more than enough.

its not using the full gpu usage because you a cpu bound. meaning that your gpu is stronger than what the cpu can handle in the game making a small bottleneck
