Its still a goid card for budget builds pretty basically run any game depending on settings. The 1660 gies pretty regular @ $75+/- here in US. Easy fit for a @ $300 build

Yeah, I think the entire GTX 10 series are still great today. Apart from maybe the version of the 1030 they handicapped with ddr4 memory.

@StefanTests the 7th generation i3 really has some good performance, I was going to upgrade my cpu to a i7 7700 but that costs in my area 100 euro and a i5 7600 costs 30 euro :O so i5 7600 it is....

I mean recent improvements in Integrated graphics from both Intel and AMD have managed to surpass cards like 2050. So I don't really get why would you buy 1660 ? Yeas, for a really old build you wanna just give over to your nephew or something like that is understandable.
@StefanTests

Did you mean 1050? But anyway, as far as I'm aware, no integrated graphics comes close to the 1070/1660 for performance.

its a 1080p card for older games at the time, now older games like halo mcc can run 4k at 80fps without any tearing and looks great. its no performance beast but still a tank of a card for the budget i love mine lol

because Nvenc if u have a dedicated livestreaming PC like me Radeon GPUs don't really have a Encoder for streaming or a not a very good one sadly if u want a dedicated livestreaming PC with GPU Encoding, Nvidia is ur only option sadly atm however for gaming, yes i will agree with u tha AMD 6000 series wipes tha floor with it in gaming, however when it comes to content creation such as Streaming, Nvidia Touring and above is tha way to go 16 series included

@@blakedmc1989RaveHD Common misconception. AMD encoders are only slightly behind Nvidia ones. They both offer great quality. I personally use a 7800XT for my content creation, and if you look at my videos, you wouldn't be able to tell its all done on AMD. AMD has fixed their encoders for quite awhile now, its just the misinformation from people whom have never used AMD GPU's. So uh, yeah no. AMD is a great content creation tool.

@@Triro idk mane Vegas Pro was very Fussy with Radeon GPUs and i was left with a sour taste in my mouth when i last tried a Radeon GPU for encoding and it's good they're making improvements on it but it's not enough sadly, but any improvement is better than none but it'll be nice if they got it right from tha start instead of waiting on improvements especially when it comes to Streaming Encoding ok yea it's nice they improved on tha rendering side of things, but when it comes to Streaming encoding, it's a completely different animal to tha point dat i'm still gunna be stuck on Nvidia because of it sadly

I use these older Pentiums and even the I3 from the Ivy Bridge in a silent builds. The stock coolers do an ok job with no fans connected. For high end i3 hashwells I do use a proper fan-less cooler (just really a bigger chunk of aluminium).. Maybe do some testing for your channel.

This is the last classic platform with no UEFI bioses and such modern "shits" and it still has drivers for Win XP and better compatibility with DDR3 memories that were problematical with sc775 platform. I really recommend first Core i platform for ultimate Win XP retro gaming build. You can have Win 7 on second HDD/SSD. Ofcourse some decent C2D E8600 or some better C2Q will it that job too, but sc 1156 is really the last "classic" platform from good old days and big advantage is that most of modern coolers still fits on socket 1156.

Thanks a lot mate for this video, im using this exact cpu as my daily driver with a gt 1030. And got to say that this is a little beast and have been able to play games such as days gone, assassins creed origins and lots of ps4 era games pretty well However the key to get the best out of this chip is by optimising your windows 10 as i was able to reduce the number of processes to like 60 and ram usage at idle is at 1.7 gb, btw im using 16 gb dual channel. Another thing to keep in mind is locking the frame rate at 30 and use a controller.

Well they might perform little bit faster than the sandy bridge but their integrated graphics blew the intel hd 3000 out of the water, also the performance of top tier ivy bridge is comparable to 8th generation quad core cpus. that's why they are the most impactful intel cpu.

I3-3240 is the first CPU I bought with my own money for my first self-built PC! The motherboard was Foxconn P67A-S with 16 GB of some Kingston DDR3 RAM, and GTX 550 Ti with 2 GB of DDR3 RAM, it was significantly faster than my previous PC with Core 2 Duo and GPU without fans by default, sadly this build was rather quickly outdated, especially with this poor 550 Ti, but it was a very fun computer.

A pea sized blob is perfectly fine like you say, but I can guarantee this way that there's good coverage and contact with the cooler. It's a habit I picked up from my interest in extreme overclocking where they'd do this to get better heat transfer with liquid nitrogen.
