When you delete airbags to do the lift kit how do you get around the sensors? Won’t the car say check airbags or other stuff on the HUD after?

I saw the initial vid you posted after your purchase where there was a nice green fj40 in the lot. An you said how much you wanted to have the fj. I’ve had three fj40’s. I loved them for what I used them for. I can tell you that the gx is light years ahead of the FJ for day to day use, no comparison, none. The FJ’s are bush trucks. 50 miles per hour max speed, after that your taking your life in your hands. But the FJ is unstoppable, always got me out of it. Like the man said, as trucks get older, they develop gremlins,, fact. I wish I’d have keep a couple of FJ’s, and put them on trailers for off-road . But if you want a daily the GX is superior. That GX you have is very nice. Would have been better if I just went at it with a one and done mentality with chopping the plastics etc. I still find avoidable rubs here and there. My plan is to double back with a video about where I ended up trimming, etc for the larger tires. I can see why people just ditch the running board trim altogether. I want to say it is the best, cleanest chop I have ever seen on a GX. I can tell, you took your time and made it contour with the front, rear and side steps. This is a really good question. There definitely is a difference in speed readings with these sized tires compared to OEM sizes. I have not really calibrated my speedometer, but I'm not particularly worried about it at the moment. I tend to stay under the limit anyways as a kind of buffer and also go with traffic. hows the ride compare to stock ones?
@NVSTRZ343 жыл бұрын
So, like mentioned in the video, its not a full King coilover set. Because of the crazy long backorders with the King suspension, I am having to run Bilstein 5100's up front while my King fronts were still coming in. My King rears are installed (paired with Toytec 2" springs in the rear) currently. My front King coilovers DID come in and are getting put in this coming Monday. The factors above make it a little hard to compare the Kings, but I can describe the mix of the front Bilstein's and King rears. Up front: I would say that I am very impressed with the Bilstein 5100's up front. I now see why they are so popular. They do ride slightly stiffer on the height setting they are on, but its still very comfortable. They do take on/off-road paths pretty damn decently. A great option for the occasional offroad trips, but also daily driven vehicle. Solid 7.5/10 for how they are set up on my truck. In the rear: The rear King shocks and Toytec springs handle excellent. There is a noticeable difference going over things at speed (with regard to the front vs back end of my GX). The rears feel like they seriously glide over everything you can throw at it. Its definitely way smoother than the front end. You can feel the difference (albeit moderate for most drivers that havent really driven on different suspensions before). At slow speeds, both the front and rear feel almost identical. The Kings shine in mid to higher speed driving. I give the rears 9.5/10. If you like nice suspensions, you will LOVE the Kings. They really were worth the almost year'ish wait for me. Hope this helps. I will review the Kings once the fronts get on next week. -Justin

@@NVSTRZ34 Thanks for all the details, I am in Florida and wondering if you would mind sharing what the shop in Texas charged for suspension upgrade and chop? Might give me an idea of what I am looking at. Thanks.

@@edhiestand1197 I dont have the itemized list any longer, but I believe it was around $1.5K to $1.6K all in. This includes lift w/ reservoirs/rear springs/UCA/and testing/trimming. You can probably cut out $300-$500 just by doing your own trimming before the lift. Trimming is a little labor intensive if you are serious about not rubbing. That $1.6K does not include a body mount chop if you run larger tires like mine (285/75/17). Also, this is from a shop that specializes in Toyotas, so there is a premium for their services, but it really was turn-key drive out no problems. Nothing to really still sort out major, only little rubbing here and there. Worth it in my case. My personal experience from swapping out my 370Z suspension is that a car lift goes a long way to making the coilover, spring, and UCA install much much easier. I had no problem paying that amount for setup and testing. All the other stuff like lights and RCI skid plate installs (also featured on my channel), etc... I will do myself. Hope this helps. Feel free to ask any other questions you have. Thanks, Justin

Nice video! Where did you get the little Toyota hash marks for the grill?
@NVSTRZ343 жыл бұрын
On Amazon. Here is a link to the grille badge: amzn.to/3jmv24D Install was very easy and secure. Hope that helps!

Thank you! It really has been awesome. My 370Z is really low, so I was looking forward to something a little higher in clearance lol

You didn’t mention your new splashguards 😂

Yeah. Kind of mixed emotions currently with them because of fitment on the driver side. Have to cut them some to make it fit 100%. Just haven't made time for it. Will once I get my front Kings in next week.

@@NVSTRZ34 that's good. How tall are the springs in the rear ?

@@NVSTRZ34 nice had those springs on my FJ good springs. I love the bumper chop looks real good. Going to do that eventually lazy right now. Good choice on tires too had them on my FJ as well. Regear is a must with the tires though. Alot of guyz run nitro gears. I need those too lol . Get some power back!
@NVSTRZ343 жыл бұрын
@@dakine808shooter Yeah. Definitely a change in power. The V8 helps, but really, a regear is needed. I had my eyes on some bumpers, but I think I will be doing the gears and lockers first. Going to be $$$ for sure. I was actually thinking about doing the gears and lockers early next year and just enjoying as is right now.

More rubber more cutting needed. You can always go with a smaller tire too.
