For my money, the greatest dis song ever. Not only was it based on what was actually happening (Jerry and Eazy ripping the rest of the group off), it actually fit in with the larger themes of Death Certificate which talks a lot about the economic exploitation of Blacks in America with rape as a recurring metaphor. His ending words to Eazy about breaking away from Jerry match the larger message on the Life Side of the album about economic independence.

That thumbnail image with your face on the vaseline is hilarious. There have been interviews done where some people have said that Easy was a good guy and loyal. And that his loyalty to Jerry Heller really came from a good place. A lot of people forget that loyalty is a good quality when talking about Easy-E.

What's funny is that after Dre left Death Row Records Suge Knight included No Vaseline on a Death Row Greatest Hits album. Everyone was so petty in those days. :)

@@ABoomerReacts Scripted, but throw in some frestyle during. They write memorize each round. Each person doesn't know what the other is going to say going into the battle. Usually battles are about dissing the other opponent but this battle was for fun a d about complementing the other opponent. This would be more of a fun review if you were interested in doing something like that.

Ice cube went to the west coast. It was a big deal because it was a west coast artist going to the east and the bomb squad which produced for public enemy. I would really like to see you do Public Enemy - fight the power is a good one. They were everybody's favorite group at one time before NWA. Way more conscious. And a fun fact is that they were against drugs. But flavor flav was on hella drugs.
