Would love a video about suspenders. I have heard it's good for your hips as wearing a tight belt all the time can cut off circulation, cause hip problems later in life, etc.

Thanks for touching on a very important subject (for comfort and relief!). I’m turning 50 this summer and about 6 months ago I ditched belts for suspenders. The belt thing was just killing me (and probably destroying my digestion abilities and starting to get miserable). You had mentioned trucker suspenders before, and I went and got a couple pairs and love them. Thanks again for good advice. I’ll also be enjoying the Washington summer at the end of July: wife and kids taking me up to the PNW for my 50th. One of the most beautiful areas in the world in my opinion. Have a great summer and stay comfortable!

Tom, You reflect my feelings concerning suspenders completely. I am all about the comfort. I am soon to be 77 yrs young and they are my first choice over a belt. When I dress for a more formal setting I will go with a belt. Thanks for your post! I enjoy it.

I just read an article in Scotland magazine about the beaver making a re-appearance in Scotland after being hunted to extinction back in the 19th century. also came close to extinction in Canada, all because gentlemen in London demanded top quality beaver skins for making hats, great article about the animal re-appearing in the waters of Scotland. I have it at the store if you want to read it. You are also right on about the deleterious effect on what is supposed to be a "free market" economy basically being destroyed by the corporate/governmental complex. This is what happens when the number crunchers get control of the reins of what is supposed to be a free market, which no longer exists in the world.

Hi Tom, good to see you again. I recently switched to suspenders after having grown a bit of a belly die to zero activity for sure done time. Couldn't stand belts. I'm currently using those metal-clip suspenders with my chinos etc. They do look a little cheesy but they work great. Extremely comfortable and CAN look sharp if the colours/garments I'm wearing come together well.

I've been buying the Prison Blues jeans that come with suspender buttons. I think they're considered loggers jeans. I've also added buttons to jeans fairly easily, but I prefer suspenders when working in the yard as I get tired of pulling my pants up continuously. I've also started wearing overalls, which are very comfortable, however my wife hates the look which she says make me look like Mr. Ziffel from Green Acres. I told her that's what I was going for, so, perfect.

I have a colostomy so I employ suspenders and loose waisted pants regularly. This allows my appliance room to move. I've been exploring lots of the Sutliff Match blend offerings lately. They have become my 'cellar' with about 16 of their blends in house, so far. I've smoked a pipe since 2014. I won't chase stuff that is sold within minutes. Life is too short for that sort of stress. I smoke a pipe for relaxation, motivation to get out and walk, and for contemplation. I got a pair of Decalen suspenders from Jeff Bezos and they're not bad! about $20.

As a sex symbol I’m a tight jeans and belt sort of chap but…. 40 years hit hard and I have delved into the suspenders. I bought a set and didn’t realise they are to go on to a belt so it’s a belt and suspenders setup. It seemed redundant so I just went back to a belt. Maybe I should try again.
