Very good start. If you want more distance push your elbow forward prior to your forward cast and focus on bringing your underhand down and towards your body while using your tophand as pivot and still a loose grip you be amazed how far you shoot. Your entire runningline is with a 12,6 0r 13 feet long rod not a problem. Amazed how far you came without a tutor well done!

Loved your ending there champ! You were drifting into an abyss, and with humor, escaped in good fashion. One of the many reasons why your fans keep coming back. Besides the great lessons you provide, of course, which are the main reason your viewership continues to grow. I am still an avid lake fisherman, enjoying the single hander as I fish for rainbows; a devote of the incomparable genius of Brian Chan, I am not so willing to give up the skills and success that I have acquired after years of struggling in this fishery. Besides, the many 4wt and 5wt rods and reels that I have invested in. I will see in late April whether or not the underhand casting works for me. And I will indeed give it a good try, there, Jedi.

Hello there first time I'm see this video! I'm from scandi land Sweden 🇸🇪 The most fault people do is open the loop when they cast. You need stay tight in the box and rod shall have a short stroke whit high front stop that's very Important!!! Goran Andersson show me this 1980 so done this some year now. I use fast rods and next thing is you tend to use a lighter line. Why do we use that. Here is the answer. As you not load your rod to hard it becomes faster response. My shooting head are 30-40' depending on how long rod been used. I prefer about 2,5-3 times longer head then my rod. And do not let your bottom hand crawl up that open up the loop and loss of speed and precision for most. Rods who have long stroke and of the slow type is not the best for underhand casting. Love your passion for casting that's awesome! The swed 🇸🇪 Bjorn

@@LineSpeedJediTimRawlins Sure as I'm from scandi land that's how we fish here for most. But as I'm told I did go the long way too. 100-120' lines was my starting point in the 70s up to mid 80s that was my fishing gear DT lines long rods 14-17' AFTM 10-12# that was my learning curve. As I'm get older I find those new rods more suitable for me ! Loop make good fast action rod's Sage as well plus a bunch more. The weight is 10 OZ on my 13,5' and 9 OZ on my 13' that's about half the weight of my traditional spey rods from UK. Fun help out and get feedback and input. The swed 🇸🇪

Good stuff. Always good to watch. I see I'm not the only man who walks around the house with my rod! Phew! It's amazing how a few little changes can make a huge difference to a cast. I always think it's down to putting in the right amount of ingredients in each cast. Then trying to keep consistent with it. I find a light grip on the rod always makes life easier too. Keep them vids coming!

thanks Ninja! I spend time walking around with the bottom section. When I get brave I ll do a video in my bathrobe as is often the case when I'm not working. Agreed! Consistancy is a must!

Cack handed seems to be my best casting stance, and I believe it is because I don't possess the strength to overpower the cast. Remains to be seen where underhand casting puts me, but I will certainly give it a try. I love the lighthearted play towards the end, seems we all too often lose our sense of humor as we interact with one another. A real shame in my opinion as humor not only can break the ice in an iced over conversation, but it can often lower our guard, our defense mechanisms towards acceptance of friendship, however fleeting. BTW: your sound volume fluctuates a great deal as you move forward and back, duh. Be nice if we get the funding done on the mic system over with. It's going to happen, Tim, maybe two weeks and done, I just feel it so.

Thanks Water Sprite. Great observations. Thank you for your encouragement as always. Looking forward to seeing your cach handed casting. My loops are tighter cach handed but more power regular casting. Had some fun single hand cache handing with a little double haul. too much fun. video's forth comming

Great video. Very helpful. What do you mean by short shooting head? For example, what would be considered a short scandi head on a 12.5ft DH rod?
@LineSpeedJediTimRawlins3 жыл бұрын
33’ would be fine. Give or take a foot or two. Good question, thanks
