Hi Ajay, I just want to say your KZbin video is the most comprehensive troubleshooting guide to the ubiquitous NXR ignitor-clicking issue on the internet. Your video is a great public service resource. Shame on NXR for not posting a troubleshooting video like yours. Great job!

Ajay, mine starting click again due to cleaning them!! ha ha . So I followed your directions and all is well again. I have a gardenweb thread "If Susan can fix her nxr u can too " and I posted a link to send all the NXR owners here. You are a wonderful person for taking the time to upload this video. Thank you so much.

That was so helpful; thank you! Cooking is not frustrating any longer! I've been battling clicking for a few years already; I wish I had seen your video sooner. I used steelwool to polish the burners, and it worked!

Thank you! I can't even begin to tell you how frustrated I've been with our NXR range. This fix did the trick. Thanks for sharing this!

It seems that you are the only one who gave a reasonable explanation of the cause of the continuous clicking. Thank you very much.

I'm so grateful and impressed. I spent hours with pins and paperclips cleaning holes and cleaning with wire brushes and cotton swabs to no avail. I realized after watching your video that there was a small gap created by uneven contact between 2 components of the burner. Problem solved. Heartfelt thanks.

I don't know how you came up with this fix but I'm glad you did! I recently moved into a new house with this range and the clicking was insane. I ended up throwing the breaker to cut the power after lighting a burner.

It’s amazing that a range that costs $5000+ US dollars and Costco sells, have this design flaw. Thumbs down for the engineers at NXR, this problem should be a recall issue, and a re-designed burner should be provided to NXR range owners with this problem. I am very disappointed at this company. Thanks for the video, they should hire people as smart as you, that understand the laws of physics in real world scenarios, at this companies.

Well it was worth a try. I have a THOR 6 burner range and have two of those exact burners with the exact problem. For years I haven't used the front right and left burners because of this issue. THORs customer service is no help either. They are based in California and somehow my house here in South Dakota managed to have one where there is no support for it. My orifices are clean (used ultrasonic jewelry cleaner). I've adjusted bypass jet settings. I tried this sanding trick too. No matter what my simmer burner pitters and goes out and clicks. Before seeing this video, I had just purchased what appears to be updated models of these burners and main jet holders. I get them this week. If they work, I'll post a video as well with the parts used. If not then 250 bucks down the drain. EDIT: I found another video where they sanded the inside of the burner base. I did a test run simply putting a single sheet of tin foil with all the holes cut out and that was enough to act like a gasket and got the burners working until the new parts arrive.

Great video! When I called NXR support they made no mention of the burner head needing to be flat.

This solution worked well for 2 of my NXR burners which resulted in continuous ignition clicking. A clever and simple solution to an annoying problem. For what it's worth, the machining/casting of the burner components was pretty rough and contributed to this issue.

Tried everything you suggested this afternoon and so far it worked to stop the clicking. THANK YOU. the gas movement is still not right though, especially when on high. Things I've tried (in the past) to stop clicking are as follows: thorough cleaning of the burner holes. I use those teeth cleaners that are sold in the dollar store that look like miniature pipe cleaners with handles). I've purchased new burner assemblies which worked for a while to stop the clicking and helped with the crazy flames. Then it all returned, I guess because of the warping as you suggested. I also replaced all the knobs and that helped for a while (or atleast it seemed) and then the clicking returned. I also noticed that certain pans (cast iron frying pans for example) made matters worse. Again, thanks.

Susan, there are 2 solutions - #1 try to make sure holes are aligned. We had the same problem on high. We realized that on high the gas coming to the middle burner was not complete and due to that the stove detected incomplete ignition and started clicking. Look directly from top of burner and assure all holes are aligned, especially one at 6 o'clock as that brings in the natural gas to the middle burner.
@ajaymalhotra38535 жыл бұрын
#2 - sometimes the metal takes 2,3 times to get rid of its unevenness - this usually is in the metal due to impurities / differential compression rates at time of casting. At times you may need to repeat the process in this video a couple of times (after a month or so, or 6 months or so) and then it should give you another 3-4 years of great service.

@@ajaymalhotra3853 I don't understand what you mean by trying to align the holes. It seems when you connect the two pieces together, you have no choice but to align them because you have to match things up with the ignition rod. Could you please clarify?

Please also note that it's very important to have burner holes aligned. As you put the layers of metal, please look from right on top to assure holes are aligned precisely with the nozzle below and each other layer. This burner design makes it very to be misaligned.

I am so happy I came across your video. I have an NXR 36” range with 6 burners. Since day one it was ticking away and does often, I’ve grown used to it and ignore it or yell at my stove. I will try these things tomorrow. Wondering if you figured out how to take the top off to clean better down in the injection areas. Thank you for your time.
@ajaymalhotra38534 жыл бұрын
I find it best to just clean the nozzle holes and that to only if needed. The process is very easy - poke the nozzle holes with a right sized needle and then turn on your gas for a split second to let it blow all that you scraped out of the nozzle. The nozzle design in this one is protected enough that I only did it once for my wife's mental satisfaction, otherwise it looked clean enough in the nozzle hole to not warrant it. We installed an ultrasonic humidifier in the house and that made the fume tips orange. We thought it was air blockage causing incomplete combustion, later realized its calcium from our tap water aerosolized by the ultrasonic humidifier - Never use one unless you put in distilled water :) Happy to be of help. Cheers.

I just tried this fix, and am astonished to have my stove working again, after many many years of terrible burners. I had given up hope!! We were on the verge of buying a new stove! EDIT: well, for those following this issue, the fix worked for a few days, but then the burners were back to their old tricks. Not a solution for us.

Shelley Evans, try making sure the holes are aligned. @George also mentioned this in a reply to comment below. These burners can get mis-aligned very easily.

if you gonna do this trick just buy 1500 grit sand paper and stick on a flat surface.if you want to close small gap between the different piece why not use high temp grease that could act as a sealer.

How does fixing the flame fix the clicking? Does the flame keep the spark from jumping or something?
@ajaymalhotra38534 жыл бұрын
This model has auto ignition. If the burner senses lack of ignition but the burner knob is in any of the ON positions, then it starts sparking to induce ignition.
