Great video Michael. The other videos started and concentrated on and around the spark. Yours started with cleaning around the nob where I found the spring was full of grease and not releasing, thus continues clicking. Hello Mike- I have the following gas GE cooktop--GP328WEC2WW. I have followed all of the steps with cleaning ceramic ignitors, valve stems debris, underside of burner caps, pushed dental tool down into orifice hole gently to no avail. From the start, I had intermittent sparking (on all burners) when gas was off, now after cleaning and restoring power, the spark is "constant" on all burners. Before, I could wiggle the 1st knob and it would stop clicking, now no help. Do you have any other suggestions or remedies? Thank you kindly.

My 6 burner range was constantly clicking. The problem was created when the ignition module was replaced. It has 6 inputs from the switches (120 V AC), a neutral connection, a ground connection, and 6 connections to the igniters on the burners. The inputs are from a wiring harness with a multi-pin connector. Outputs are individual wires. When a burner control is turned on, power is supplied to one of the inputs, for example, input 1 (left front). If correctly wired, all igniters spark, but only output line 1 is trying to sense the flame. Once it senses flame, it stops clicking. When the output wires were switched around, it could not sense flame on the correct output, so it never stopped clicking. Once I corrected the output wiring, the constant clicking stopped.

In my case I spilled water that made it under the knobs and apparently got water in one of the sensors surrounding the valve. After cleaning everything and trying to dry it out it would still spark randomly now and again. I finally had to replace the wiring harness that connects the four valves to the ignitor control module. It was not overly complicated and cost me a little over $40. problem solved.

i just washed my stove nd now its clicking is it cause of the water should i be worried
@DIYwithMichaelBorders4 жыл бұрын
baby besos Thanks for watching. Water can carry electricity & can cause issues when within close proximity of igniter & burner. We recommend doing your best to dry up all areas around the burner and igniter. Be careful as you try to clean up any moisture near the igniter, it can be accidentally damaged pretty easily. Once your igniter area and burner are dry, we recommend turning your burner on and allowing it to run for 10 minutes. This will allow the heat from the burner to assist in drying any additional moisture within the surrounding area of igniter and burner. Clicking should stop. Keep us posted. Please subscribe to the channel and turn on your KZbin notification Bell 🛎 that would be awesome thanks again! 😎👍🔧🔩

@@kendalgee5808 Thanks for the reply, the knobs move internal ignition mechanism. To your thoughts, without the knob... it’s pretty tough to rotate or move the internal ignition mechanism.
@kendalgee58082 жыл бұрын
@@DIYwithMichaelBorders The knobs are not necessary. You can use your fingers to push down on the metal vertical stick handle and turn it counterclockwise, which will rotate the igniter switch to activate the ignition module to spark. It is not necessary to clean the knob for spark function. However, it is a good idea to clean the knob because it will drip grease diwn the vertical metal stick handle, it may drip through the rubber cover sitting on the switch, What's Chris gets inside of the switch internals, it may break it causing no signal to the module.
