For anyone debating whether or not they should go or if it’s worth it, GO!!!!!!!! So much food but the quality and the care taken with it is so evident. It’s so much fun and more than just a dinner.

Your speech reminded me of the traditional family gatherings that have been long since gone when my grandma passed away back in 1989. You brought back memories of a happier time and I thank you for that as they have become something very distant over the last few years.

Chef Vitolo is such a class act. I have made comments on his FB page and he always responds. Also, as someone who has done catering for wedding parties of up to 300 people, I am impressed with how you can bring together a group of different chefs and have everything go so smoothly. And have the chefs laughing and enjoying the process.

The Sunday Supper is just a fantastic concept. I'm so glad you are keeping the tradition alive and sharing it with others.
@wngimageanddesign95464 ай бұрын
Brilliant concept! And brilliant video. Yes, Sunday supper is a cultural tradition. And I miss those holiday get togethers over at my mother's house when everyone shows up to eat. I remember in the 80s, my best friend was stuck in Manhattan all alone unable to head home for Thanksgiving. When I heard he's doing nothing all by himself, I picked him up for Thanksgiving with my family in Staten Island. His heart was so touched, he wanted to cry! My mother has passed away, and all who were the foundations of this tradition are too old or also gone. So, it's a melancholy memory, but it's a heart and soul kinda thing to have lived it, and to see others know how your feel.

In the 80’s I spent Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings making Sunday supper at my in-laws apartment in East Harlem. I was the first non-Italian in the family so Mary Bush, my husband’s grandmother, said I needed to learn how to cook, “so my f**kin’ grandson don’t starve.” I grew up making boeuf bourgignon, crepes, coc -a-vent. Mary was horrified that I would feed that “sh*t” to her grandson. So I spent a wonderful year making gravy, pasta from scratch, manicotti, gnocchi, mezzaluna, etc. I only get this when I make Sunday gravy, etc. If you have one after the 19th, can you post it? I will sign up now.

Going to one of these is on my bucket list before i leave NY. I got the invite email for this one, but I was sick. I'm going to try to get my BFF to come with. I tell her about you all the time, but I'm not sure she will be adventurous. And yes, my mom made Sunday supper fit years after my grandmother died, but my favorite was roast beef. Rare, with a salad, mashed potatoes and strung beans. On alternating Sundays, my uncle would make a huge pot of sauce.... After he died, we kinda didn't do it anymore. So I'll try to con BFF into it... Otherwise, I'll be alone there, and I know what you're going to say..... But yeah, my caprese will be for one. But it's OK. Imma get there.... ❤
