NYC Apartment Series: Redecorating my Entryway & more!

Ahh, what a difference a little wallpaper can make! How do you guys like it? I personally am such a fan. Even though it's subtle I think the olive green color gives it such a moody vibe when you walk into the apartment. Now that my entryway is finally finished I'm wondering what other spaces I can revamp and redecorate since I'm truly having the best time! Hope you all enjoy :)

Beautiful Updates! Another idea for the step stool is to hide it horizontally behind your couch or behind a closet door... I hide mine right next to my fridge which happens to be the same color so it blends right in lol.

Great job with the wallpaper and the color is beautiful. But, that door still bothers me though 😂 For the ladder, I learned with some interior designers that when you have a functional item that is aesthetic pleasing (like your ladder) you use it as a decor piece rather than try to hide it. When you do that (try to hide) it calls for more attention of being an eye sore. So my suggestion is hang the ladder on that wall and turned as an object of art. And maybe a hanging plant on it or leave it as a solo piece in the middle of that wall. Another function, in case you do have space, use it open for some decor (like plants or books) or holding items (in the bathroom, bedroom,-shoes, bags, or even unexpectedly as a bar in the living room decorated with a few bottles/cans - horizontally in a wine rack , few glasses, cocktail apparatus... as you probably decorate a normal bar cart, with a twist 😉 ), everything that can be easily taken down in case you need to. We can totally use a piece and giving it various functions that it wasn't originally designed for (especially in small living spaces we have to be even more creative with everything we acquire). Entryway looks lovely! The white stool does have the advantage of the bar to hold for balance when climbing or leaning against. The gold one is very pretty

Love the wallpaper it looks beautiful in your entry way. Have you thought about putting command hooks on the back of your bedroom closet for your purses and bags? Or maybe another under bed storage to put them while not in use, so your hooks won’t be overcrowded.

Hi Kirsten! I know you've said in a previous video, many moons ago when you moved in, that you got this apartment via the lottery. Do you see yourself living here for ''forever'' aka long term or do you ever want to buy a place of your own. I'm not from nyc, and I know most people rent, but I vaguely remember you saying you grew up in nyc. I'm not sure if you were born there. I assume you will live there forever (unless something crazy drastic happens) I remember your studio with the blue cabinets and I always thought I would love that apartment more, but I'm going to be honest... this one has grown on me and I think I like this one more! You have so much more space (nyc edition!) but I'm just curious in general if owning your own place is something you or even typical new yorkers desire to do. I think the insanely high cost of living in nyc has likely forever broken my desire to live there... but I also teach, but esl online and everyone ... wants to live in nyc hahaha. It's a very special place. It's just not realistic for so many people. I'm just generally curious! Love your videos!

Hi, aw I'm so glad you've grown to love this place. It can be hard to picture people in places or surroundings that are different than what you're used to so I totally get it. I'd love to own one day! Even if I start with a condo or something, it definitely would be an investment that makes sense to pursue. I might even leave NY one day, who knows? I don't feel bound to staying here, but my family mostly resides in NY or surrounding areas so it makes sense for the moment.
