depending on what the poster is made of you may be able to get out the bends with a flat iron. as long as you use one where you can adjust the heat and start low it should be safe. once in college my window sprung a leak and I flat ironed the pages of a rental book that got wet. was surprised how well it worked. is it classy? probably aggressively the opposite. but it was free and worked so that's a win in my book (no pun intended)

Are the other doors in that apartment other people living there? Your room is kind of in the living area? It's unusual because in the UK it's very rare to share a room at uni.
