NYC congestion pricing: MTA gives final approval

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority on Wednesday approved creating a new toll for vehicles entering Midtown and Lower Manhattan, below 60th St. The goal of the congestion pricing program, the first of its kind in the nation, is to reduce traffic and pollution in New York City, while raising new revenue to improve New York's transit system.

There is a way to not pay by bypassing the camera . There is one location. Of course you might get yelled at for using it as it's not for that purpose.

Not everyone can to get in or out of the city. Not everyplace is served by a train or a bus. Just because you and I can take public transit doesn't mean everyone can

@WoJackHorseman24 People who need to leave to get to areas not served by public transit or those who need to get in from areas where taking a bus or a train isn't a reliable option. There are transit deserts in the New York Metropolitan area you know and not everyone can just take a train to into Manhattan hence why people drive

@@Atrail_Mckinley4786 For those in a transit desert, driving to a nearby train station or bus stop is a viable option to avoid driving the full distance. Driving directly isn't prohibited, but it will involve paying a toll

Traffic got worse in London though. It didn't reduce traffic but made it worse outside the zone.
