Tom Delgado takes you on a walk around Madison Square, which is formed by the intersection of Broadway and Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, New York City. He tells you the history of important landmarks surrounding or near the square, like the Empire State Building and the original Madison Square Garden. Shot by Dan Foley.

6:33 “No matter how hard we try, in 100 years no one’s gonna care” Ironically, nobody remembers Roscoe Conkling, but Tom actually has a pretty good shot of people in 100 years still watching his videos, considering that he’s video-documenting 202X New York in detail.

I teach high school gym class on 14st and 5th ave, close by Union Square park. It’s such a joy to learn the history of this area. Tom you are a gem! I hope you fulfill your dreams and I hope to cross paths with you at some point to share our love for NYC! You deserve so much more recognition that what KZbin provides.

Brilliant, as usual! Is it bad of me that from all the excellent information you shared, the thing sticking with me most is you going back into court and telling the jurors to smash that not guilty button?! Ha ha Also you missed a couple of sick plugs: The Tampa video should have been sick plug 5, NY Public Library 6, and Midtown (right at the end) 7. Just saying, so chill out man! LOL

I really enjoy your intelligence on these videos. Too many NYC vloggers have reached the Peter Principle when they pick up a camera and attempt to vlog. You know who they are and this will not insult them because they have no idea what the Peter Principle is. You are right up there with Walking Commuter who is another highly educated vlogger. I'm attempting to watch all your videos in the next week and really looking forward to it.

I love the focus on these sites around 14th-23rd Streets. Off the typical tourist path but very interesting with lots of history! There are lots of iconic old shots of the Flatiron Building because lots of top photographers such as Alfred Stieglitz had their offices nearby around the turn of the 20th Century.

I moved to the area 7 years ago, I That when you cross a street or avenue, you find the most important buildings of NYC. Like, the Flariton building on 5th av, you can see the freedom tower, on Madison av you see the Empire State Building, with the creepy freemason details. America has freedom of sin not to sin, on 3rd av, we can see the Chrysler building, on 3rd av. The financial district with the Statue on top. Near Brooklyn Bridge. I forgot the name but is gorgeous. That's the peculiar thing I found on east 23rd, St. It's getting prettier now. Enjoy ;)

😃" INTERESTING!.... Normally, I don't care for most ' walking tours ' because most are simply too long and drawn out. There's something to be said for ' short and sweet ' video highlights and showcases, instead of meandering through crowded sidewalks and the ' hustle and bustle ' en route to various attractions. Well Done! "

Hi Tom, I had no idea you were a lawyer. No wonder you're so smart and retain so much information. Across the street from the site of the old Madison Square Garden was the Leonard Jerome Town House. He was a wealthy New Yorker who daughter ,Jennie Jerome married Lord Randolph Churchill and were the parents of Sir Winston Churchill. I think the house later became a private club and was later torn down. James Stewart and Kim Novak do a love scene on the top of the Flatiron Building in the movie,BELL,BOOK AND CANDLE. The last big event i the old Madison Square Garden was the 1924 Democratic Convention that took 103 ballots before John W.Davis became the nominee and lost to Calvin Coolidge. The inside was extremely humid because their was no air conditioning. I know it gets hot in New York this time of the year so you wore the right kind of gear. I know also a lot of garbage rots and it really stinks. Feel free to use some of my own little tid bits in your tours. We all know a little bit about a lot of things. I found Madison Square by accident on one of my trips and saw the iconic building.which was a great surprise.
