Gotta say, not a fan of the voiceover. The trivia is nice, but I would probably stick to text only. Takes away from the ambience, in my opinion. Otherwise, good work as always.

As adorable as the voice overs, with their station announcements, homilies and other information, are, I do feel it takes away from the subway experience. Just my opinion.
@joscallinet6260
@joscallinet6260 Жыл бұрын
I agree - the manner in which you've presented your New York City Subway videos until now has been the RIGHT way to do it - by allowing the experience to speak for itself. Adding the station names in highlighted text together with the numbered and lettered routes they serve, is also quite valuable and informative. I DO appreciate your adding in text format the announcements occasionally faintly heard from the train itself at stations. However, the cute voice-over announcing station names, etc., strikes me as superfluous and distracting - enterprising though it may be. Despite my and others' one criticism of your child-like voice-over in this one particular video, I heartily thank you for presenting us with your superb videos! The New York City Subway System is truly a remarkable achievement which is greatly worthwhile documenting as you have so superbly done it.
@Mrbeahz1

And if you're adding comments please keep them MTA relevant. "Roosevelt Island is Manhattan borough" is fine. "Through the left wall here at 23rd St. is the PATH train" would be OK. "The train heading downhill past Forest Hills is heading to Jamaica Yard" is relevant. But you surely don't need to warn us about "Screenching".
@AngelusBrady
@AngelusBrady Жыл бұрын
@@Mrbeahz1 I would expect that some viewers would appreciate the screeching warning if they have sensitive ears or didn't like the sound of that. I greatly dislike the high pitched noise at the beginning of the video.

@@AngelusBrady I was waiting for some over-the-top screeching, but it really didn't seem any more than other normal subway noises, and it was just the brakes, I think. Not sure why that part deserved it's own warning.

The NYC subway, officially known as the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Subway, is one of the largest and oldest public transit systems in the world. It serves the five boroughs of New York City: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island. The subway system consists of 27 subway lines, identified by letters or numbers, and operates 24/7. The NYC subway network spans over 665 miles (1,070 kilometers) and has around 472 stations, making it a crucial mode of transportation for millions of New Yorkers and visitors daily. It offers convenient access to various landmarks, attractions, residential areas, and business districts across the city. The subway operates using a pay-per-ride system, with fares payable through MetroCards, which can be purchased at vending machines in subway stations. The fares are determined by distance traveled, and transfers between subway lines or buses are usually free within a specific time limit. While the subway system provides a convenient way to navigate the city, it can get crowded during rush hours. Some lines have express and local trains, allowing commuters to travel faster or make more stops, respectively. However, service disruptions and delays can occur due to maintenance work, signal issues, or other factors. The MTA continuously works on improving the subway system, including upgrading infrastructure, introducing new train cars, and implementing modern technologies for better passenger experience. Real-time train arrival information is available through digital displays and smartphone apps. It's important for subway riders to be aware of safety precautions, such as standing behind the yellow safety line on platforms, holding onto handrails, and being mindful of personal belongings. Emergency intercoms, security cameras, and police presence contribute to maintaining a secure environment. Overall, the NYC subway is an iconic and essential component of the city's transportation system, connecting New Yorkers and visitors to various destinations throughout the metropolis.

The kid voice is so distracting. The best part of WTAE is how raw it is. No music added over the sounds of the train. The voice overs ruin the experience, we don’t want to feel like we’re watching a nursery rhyme. A lot of us are teenage and adult enthusiasts. These videos worked for all ages because they were just raw footage of the subway, something people of all ages can enjoy. But don't for a nanosecond think that your videos fail to please---they are a railfan's ideal of trackside views now that most trains no longer have the railfan window! You simply are THE NUMBER ONE SOURCE for real-time, unedited track and tunnel views from the front of a train. Long live your channel!

I used to drive from Long Island to Forest Hills on Saturday mornings to go into midtown on the E or F trains to do a little shopping; this was when the F still used the 53rd St tunnel. The unfortunate memory I have is when my car was broken into twice while parallel-parked on busy side streets in an upscale neighborhood in broad daylight; how those guys got away with that is beyond me. Unfortunately on one of those occasions I lost a tray of irreplaceable slides from a European trip.

For Montague Street deinterlining, here's my version of the plan: A: 168th Street to WTC via CPW Lcl/8th Ave Local B: 207th Street to Bay Ridge-95th Street via CPW Express/6th Avenue Express/4th Avenue Express (Local south of 36th street) C: Bedford Park Blvd to WTC via Concourse Lcl/CPW Lcl/8th Ave LCL D: 205th Street to Coney Island via Concourse Lcl to Coney Island via Concourse Lcl (EXP Rush Hours)/CPW EXP/6th Avenue EXP/4th Avenue Express/Sea Beach Local E: Jamaica Center to Far Rockaway via Queens Boulevard Express/53rd Street/8th Avenue Express/Fulton Street Express F: Forest Hills to Coney Island via Queens Boulevard Lcl/63rd Street/6th Avenue Lcl/South Brooklyn Express/Culver Lcl G: Court Square to Church Aveune via Crosstown Lcl J: Jamaica Center to Broad Street via Jamaica Lcl (Rush Hour Express) K: 179th Street to Lefferts Blvd via Queens Boulevard Express/53rd Street/8th Avenue Express/Fulton Street Lcl L: 8th Avenue to Canarsie via Canarsie Lcl M: 179th Street to Metropolitan Aveune via Queens Blvd Lcl/63rd Street/6th Avenue Lcl/Jamaica Lcl/Myrtle Avenue Lcl N: 96th Street to Brighton Beach via Broadway Express/Brighton Express Q: 96th Street to Coney Island via Broadway Express/Brighton Local R: Astoria to Coney Island via Broadway Local/4th Ave Local/West End Local Improvements -Reconstruction of switches at Astoria-Ditmars to turn 30 trains per hour -New switches between local and express tracks south of 36th street, allowing locals to serve West End, and Expresses to split between Bay Ridge and Sea Beach With this plan the Z can be killed off as skip stop is useless and a failure and with the W being absorbed into the R to increase frequency in the Astoria branch with some R trains terminating at the lower level of the City Hall station while the N can now be a weekday only route and both the N and Q can now interchange and share fleets

To Fix the A Division I Propose this We would build a new smoother curve to allow 5 trains to travel directly between 138th street Grand Concourse and 3rd Avenue 149th street without stopping at 149th street Grand Concourse. In other words, move that 5 train merge between Grand Concourse and 3rd Avenue. Almost Everyone will see a faster service and a few riders that need to go to 149th street Grand Concourse can use the 2 train. The 145th Street platforms will get extended and we would construct a new tunnel along the East River to reach the 149th Street upper level so that 3 trains can run with 4 trains via Jerome and Bedford Park Blvd will get converted into two island platforms with 3 trains terminating in the Outer tracks and 4 trains can continue to Woodlawn in the Inner tracks meanwhile the 148th street yard will be converted back into a maintenance facility and the Harlem 148th street station will also be converted back into Lenox Yard to store additional trains To Fix Rogers Junction we would need to add two switches so that 2 and 3 trains Run to Flatbush while the 4 runs local to New lots and the 5 runs express to Crown Heights plus new interlockings around Franklin Aveune and Crown Hts would need to be created to avoid conflict between the 2, 3, 4 and 5 meanwhile 3 trains could deadhead to Livonia or 239th street yard once the rush hour is over similar to how the M train fleet works

I heavily disagree, making the E go to far Rockaway would make it too long, would also make the A too short, and N and Q trains would be interchangeably redundant. But I would like the see this whole thing on brand new subway cause I could be wrong

Greetings, is it possible for you guys to upload the UNEDITED version of this please? Or perhaps put up a link for the unedited video. Would gladly appreciate an unedited version of this, maybe via email if possible. I would enjoy the experience much better that way. Thanks. As a suggestion in the future maybe you guys can upload (2) versions of the subway experience, a edited & unedited version. The voice over is cute but a front view railfan video doesn't need to much of it in all honesty. The station text/info are fine as is like in your earlier videos. Your videos and edits are innovative but sometimes you tend to bombard your videos with other stuff. Case and point your logo watermark appears on & off TOO MUCH like a ghost in different placements throughout your video. Maybe you can keep it in just one particular area where it can still be seen. Also, the "warning screeching noise" label when approaching 36th st in Queens..... We Get It. Sometimes is better to keep things simple. Just my opinion.

@@wtaenyc I was making a humorous reference to the videos of DJ Hammers in which his channel features many excellent rain fan videos. But the videos of the nostalgia trips always have the voices of excited children who are at the front window, hence the humor of my comment. I was the one who requested a video of these nostalgia trips so that one can enjoy not only the view but also the sounds of those classic cars. RFW videos of those trips are great but the background chatter can be annoying.

Regarding the addition of a child's voice, while I agree it may not have a good fit for this video, if it is genuine, the parent(s) of the child could think whether a future career in voiceover is feasible, even as a child (of course with the appropriate supervision and legal checks-and-balances). There is always a need for children's voices for commercials and animated programs (cartoons). If the child fully enjoys it, it may be considered as an adult career. Best of luck to whoever did the voice in the video and the parents!

@@wtaenyc Two criticisms of this particular video: 1) The child-like voice-over announcing the names of stations along the F-Train's route (it may be "cute," but is cuteness a requisite for inclusion in these videos? - I daresay not) - and 2), this particular video seemed to be uncharacteristically hazy and out of focus optically, especially because it's in 4K (2160 p) resolution - and because "Welcome to An Experience's" other videos are by and large in quite sharp focus. My guess is adding the child announcing the stations was done as an experiment to see how people would like it. Judging by the comments below, SOME people DID like it - but a SIGNIFICANT portion of others DIDN'T. The child's voice-overs seem so uncalled-for, irrelevant to the subject matter AND unnecessary!

Good video. First of all, thanks to the kid who provided the voiceovers at each of the stops. As Monty Python would say, it is "something completely different". East Broadway station is currently 87 years old. In three more years, it will be 90. Our nation will be celebrating its 250th anniversary in July 2026! Wonder what that will be like?! Also, the New York Transit Museum will be celebrating its 50th anniversary! Plenty of good stuff to look forward to in the years ahead! One suggestion: when our train is on the express tracks, it would be a good idea to mark our progress to the next express stop. For example, have the graphics say "passing Woodhaven Boulevard-Slattery Plaza" or "passing Rego Park" till we reach the next express stop. Other than that, another good video from you guys! Thanks!
