Me too hungry and elderly. When i was younger everyone in my church would cook a dish if they could afford. The church provided turkey and such. Then we’d set up a long table and feed hundreds. Its a blessing to feed the poor.

How heart warming to see. I’m a senior whose turkey didn’t defrost completely, so, I figured I’d just run to Walmart and pick something up even if it was just for fajitas. Apparently, they closed early. I only go there every couple of weeks and no hours posted early when I was there. So I figured it was a peanut butter sandwich again. Driving home I saw cars in a Denny’s Restaurant. Thought okay, that will work, even if it’s just an omelet. At, 4:50pm, I Walked in, asked for a seat near the door so I didn’t have to walk the length of the restaurant. Handicapped. Got handed a menu, ask what I would like to drink, coffee. Came back ten minutes later and said she had to start a new pot and it would be ten minutes. Asked about the coffee 25 minutes in, and was told it had 2 more minutes to go. Finally brought it another 5 minutes later. Waitress still had not come to take my order by the 40 minutes mark. I asked for a manager. Exasperated woman came over and said they were not taking any more, or entering any more orders in the kitchen for 25 minutes. They had forty orders before me. I look around as see 1/3 of tables filled,yes 8 tables in the whole restaurant. even had maybe 5 diners on 3 orders and a handful of carry outs drifted in over two hour period of time. Otherwise, people waited. I explained, I had to get something in my stomach like NOW. ALL I HAD EATEN IN ABOUT 30 hours was a small danish and 2 small cookies, in quick obligatory visits, and A LOT OF COFFEE. IF I couldn’t get even a slice of pie, SOMETHING,THEN DRAW UP MY BILL AFTER 1 hour waiting. They brought a sliced pumpkin,at least 20 minutes later. It came at about 6:15pm. Are you folks counting? There for 90 minutes GONE before I got ANY FOOD OF ANY KIND. I could hear the cooks/managers discussing food availability. No mash potatoes completely out, no biscuits. All they had was white bread, I made them toast it, gummy WONDRA Bread. The kind you make fishing pellets out of. They brought the actual meal at around 6:40pm. I bolted the food down. 7 pm. I walked in at 4:50pm, Had to wait another 10 minutes for the bill. In the meantime a shift change came, a male manager took over. I spot him behind the grill, efficient. The woman manager should have split those 4 cooks up. One assigned to cook/prep meats/entrees on the order, another handling all the side dishes on the plate, another cook prepping those side dishes, whether it was defrosting, microwaving, pulling items out of oven, and last, the fourth lining up all the orders for one table and double checking them before waitress served them. I am not exaggerating, I went in at 4:50pm and left at 7:I5 pm, got home at 7:25pm. This was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had in my life! Because the managers showed no organization, nor initiative, or creativity in how to get an order filled. CHANGE THE DAMN PROTOCOLS TO MORE OF AN ASSEMBLY LINE OPERATION, DENNY MANAGEMENT! No wonder you are losing business. You need different company trainers who can think outside the box for what they think are busy operating hours, like holidays. They need to think on their feet and train others how to do it. Even small restaurants use the equivalent of sous chefs. I got charge $18.25 for refried mini potatoes, like a Yukon, brown, not red. They were reheated or refried on the grill. Even the turkey slices were 2 small pieces, from the bottom of the breast, totally dried out where edges were hard and crunchy. Vegetable medley was soggy. It was like they deliberately sabotaged the meal, waited to even tell the waitress so she could consult with me on what to substitute. A ghastly experience. I would have gladly substituted that meal for a subway meal. It looked delicious. Moral of the story= stay away from around the clock restaurants near the interstate, especially on holidays. Management doesn’t give a damn.

A very intelligent and empathetic person thought of this! Who is commuting on the subway on Thanksgiving?? The people who are stuck working while others are celebrating. Usually people of lower seniority and lower salary. Not management. And you know what, it's a bit depressing. Yes, you are lucky because you have your job, but anyone would rather relax on a holiday. But you get down into the subway anyway, and ....what's this? Someone thought about me and did something special to make the commute more fun? Thanks! And everyone is smiling and the food smells great and I don't know if I should eat it but ..yeah let's go for it. And people are just enjoying the ride instead of maneuvering for a seat. How awesome, the best of NYC. So proud when our city shows up in a big way! 🗽🌆🗽

You're looking at New York's problem right there; Complete lawlessness. They had to Skip stops and take the train service.. you want to serve food, do it in your local projects or street corner not a train used for travel.
@apap15862 жыл бұрын
@Plant Based Apparently it's not okay you see they took the train out of service. That affects other people and their travel plans. That's the problem with some people New York; think they can do whatever they want with no consequences.

I've got to say this makes me feel good to see. After all the randomness going on with track shoving or stabbings I was getting sick to my stomach. Now New Yorkers could shove some mac n cheese in their mouths and stab a delicious turkey. There truly is a light at the end of the subway tunnel 😉
