My grandmother dressed upper class with tailored clothing and the surprising thing is that she bought most of it from second hand stores that were high end. The outfit you had on that was navy blue and white and you were leaning against a lamp post, was her style. Love it!

Oh I’m definitely going for coastal grandmother chic! It’s the only reliable fashion aesthetic out there really. It’s always comfortable, you can easily dress it up or down for winter or summer with a trench and like you said, plenty of great vintage finds are out there!

Still to this day many people are always telling me out I sound so “eloquent” and surprised that I like classical music, skating and all these silly backhanded comments. I saw some disturbing TikTok where a lady reposted a tweet of a black man saying something like, “Idk man something is wrong about seeing black women depending on a man. I’m used to my mom doing everything for me and working a lot.” Regardless if someone chooses to be independent or dependent I think he was basically telling on himself at that point lol. My Latina friends say the same thing about people being shocked when they are not overworked and not stressed out trying to take care of everybody else.

As for the catcalling.....it can easily turn dangerous at times...you can read about a number of women who were beaten because they turned down catcallers. I don't get it anymore and I do NOT miss it lol. Not sure why women tell others to be ok with it because one day they'll never get it anymore LOL. I say ladies...look forward to when you don't get it anymore and you can go about your business without such sleazy crap being shouted over at you... It is true, it never works. Surely guys must know this but they still do it and that is because it is nothing to do with complimenting you. It is more a control thing..reminding ladies that men control the spaces and you usually find that guys need to have at least one mate with them to do it also so it is more about showing off to them.
