Amazing that you got a footage of that new train. I remember like a year ago (I think) when a new subway train entered my hometown to test (the train is called C30). I was also lucky to record when the train was testing. Really an amazing experience

I gotta say kowasaki does one hell of a job with their trains. The only thing I’m not proud of is the small windows. I always been a NTT fan but the OTT sometimes beat the NTT by a long shot. I got one thing for everyone: *GET YOUR RIDES PICS AND FOOTAGE OF THE R46. THEY WONT LAST MUCH LONGER.* I’m pretty glad the r68/a will stay around for maybe another 15 - 25 years. Great subway car

I'm going to miss the R46s. To me, they feel more private and cozy. Most trains have only benches facing the aisles of the trains, but the R46s have pairs of chairs that face toward the front and the back of the train cars so that the rider can gaze out of the window like passengers do on an airplane. Furthermore the chairs facing the doors of the train each have a small "wall" that gives a more intimate feeling. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R46_(New_York_City_Subway_car)#/media/File:R-46_R_Train_Interior.jpg There's more space in these trains, so it doesn't feel like people are standing on top of you like the 2 and the 4 trains. The trains lights are not as bright as the modern ones, so it makes it easier to take a nap if you want to.

Bro the last one is the reason why I take most naps in the R46, You have until 3 more years to see them, They aren’t gonna be replaced ASAP. So enjoy them while they’re at it. Wished they’re still at the F and R during the time.

I'll miss them along with the N.Y.C.T.A's "last" R44 cars that still operate on the Staten Island Rapid Transit, although their a lot more noisier than about 25 years ago Lol. You folks also still have the R68 & R68A type cars that are similar to both the R44's & R46s, only they have the Westinghouse propulsion systems instead of GE. The newer subway equipment that's coming, I'm not a fan of. I like the more "conventional" subway equipment much much better than the newer equipment. I just wish that they'd restore train service from Arlington, all the way to St. George again on the North Shore portion of the SIRR, the way it was back in the day.

For all of you that are gushing about a subway train you need to get out a little more.. the sole purpose is to get you from point A to point B .. windows and seating shouldn't be your top priority unless in the case of the latter is because you are handicapped or elderly.. just hope that they show up on time and aren't destroyed in the first week of service

Not all transit trains shows up on time like a 1 train station by station gap, But we'll see soon after, The 211s have those up and pull down chairs like the others, but there's more of them in these trains for disabled/Pregnant/Elderly support.

R211As look great but I’m disappointed that they’re not 75 feet long like the R44/46 it would make sense if it’s going to be that long and they’re replacing them and another thing is that they not going to be as comfortable as the R44/46 and R68/A because of the seating facing forward and backwards because keep it mind I take a lot of naps on the R46 A/N train and those naps be amazing but oh well nowadays the new trains will be relied on technology on trains with little seating and little windows and wider doors so sad that the R68/A and R62/A will soon to be the last old trains

Glad NYC/MTA went back to Kawasaki as opposed to Bombardier. Also glad that the A and C trains will be among the lines to which the R211s will be assigned. If I'm not mistaken, I think I heard that there's supposed to be an order from Kawasaki for the IRT/"A" Division. Is that right?????

The R262 plan order? That for another decade or so. They have to finish the R211 orders first and to plan the CBTC on the IRT Lines (Flushing is off the question since it already has cbtc)

Probably they were wrapped in case of weather conditions happening or they hadn’t unwrapped most of it, On the inside it wrapped since it doesn’t want to be dirty by footsteps and dust, Maybe that can explain how.

Forgive me for being negative but i am not a fan at all. I grew up with the R27s R30s which were my favorite, the R32s, 38s, 40s and 42s. The R44s grew on me after a while, these new trains dont have any IT factor, just my opinion.

Same. While the NTT did grow on Me I always loved the OTT better. I grew around r40/m r42 with the Brighton line and the sea beach line. My home station was Stilwell av and it was like a main hub for our OTT trains like the r32 r40/m r42 r44 r68/a. Yep those were the days

I love the new train but I think it's time for the MTA to to redesign the who subway train with a new body style and bigger windows and eliminate the bench seating and use row seating like metro north and the long island rail road has.

Why are the NYC subway trains getting shorter in length? Just keep them at 8 - 11 cars per train like before. It will be harder to find space on these new trains for sure.

The reason why cause the new R211s will have more space in them also remember that you go in each car with out opening the train door,you can just walk throw just like how China subway trains are like.

@@joelweisstuch4572 here’s the reason 1. The MTA wouldn’t announce the R211 order and then released it 12 years later, For what point actually 2. The SMEE’s, Thing is that the SMEE’s during the time aren’t ready for retirement, (The R32s and the R42s were given more time in service) So I wouldn’t just approve to replace them immediately. 3. No Upcoming or planned CBTC, Like seriously during the time no CBTC Announcement was made. And it’s gonna be pointless either way. There’s reasons why the MTA Don’t need these new cars 12 years ago, Just give a thought for a while.

I get it yea but they can't keep the legacy trains in service forever it's just gonna cause more problems and then more repairs and with the R46 seat arrangements that would make less space for passengers because the seats are blocking. don't get me wrong I love the R46 seating. but there's alot of customers and they need the space for hundreds of customers sitting and standing at least we get USB charging now

Bruh, Homeless people is a thing in reality. We all get it that the MTA Stations are dirty (some of 'em), And the train can be dirty. There's polices around certain stations but y'kno they gotta deal criminals outside of the stations so they can't be in guard of both things at the same time. If you're that impatient of the MTA being dirty. Train Delays, Signaling in stuff. You gotta remember that the signals are extremely old. And they're doing G.O's for that. Not all signals are perfect. Even other transit places has delays as well. The MTA can't deal with many things ASAP. If you want that to be fixed then wait for a while. Patience is the way.
