I've been saying that they need to clean house this year. There is no need to keep both Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen. They haven't gotten it done. There is no GM that should keep their job after overpaying for DJ and letting DJ walk because he didn't want to pay him 2 million more and there is no coach that can even keep a good relationship with DC who coached a really good defense. Both of them need to go so we can start new with a new QB, coach, GM, and a new era of Giants football.

They shouldn't have Daniel Jones that contract, and if Philly can give him thar contract, so could we. Wink's defense was good. The offense was terrible. As a general rule I think any team that has "earned" a high enough draft pick to take a top QB (like picks 1-5), the GM and head coach should be fired and a new regime brought in. Especially if the GM and HC have been there for 3+ years already. This is 3 free agency periods and 3 drafts, enough to prove if they can build a winning team or not and if they're a bottom 5 team after all this time one more cycle isn't going to turn them into a top tier playoff team. Time to start over.

Schoen signed DJ to a rich contract nobody else would’ve given DJ. He was bidding against himself. Schoen should’ve offered 2 years at 25mm, you can go hunt for a new deal but if you come back to me you’re getting less.

If we draft a qb next year, the best path forward is for that qb to be on the bench for at least 1-2 years in order to let him develop. Just a few examples are Aaron Rodgers who was Favre’s backup for 3 years before he started or even Mahomes who was behind Alex Smith. So we would still need to sign an “interim” qb if the idea is to also get rid of DJ by the end of the season. If we start him right away, that’s almost guaranteed to end in failure regardless whether you get a new HC and GM.

Schoen - Kinda, no really. Daboll - Yes. I mean how’s a guy supposed to become a great HC without some practice? This whole world, but most specifically the NFL, is all about instant gratification… there’s no more building teams and programs. Everyone expects the playoffs and SBs every single year. Of course it’s the goal, but not every team can be in the post-season. There’s value in consistency and stability. Love ya Marshy but we gotta stop there trolling and dogging on Daboll. The problem is Mara and his over-involvement and horrible meddling. Mara will always be there so it’s sustainable to keep hiring and firing when the problem is higher than those who are hired are fired.

I don’t trust Shoen or Daboll to draft or develop a QB……but it goes back even further, in that I don’t trust Mara to hire the right GM or HC! And this whole issue of not wanting a young QB to be on his second HC is nonsense! They have to adapt to the NFL from college, they have to adapt to different playbooks every season, or to a completely different playbook and terminology if and when they go to another team! You have the right coach for that QB, it doesn’t matter how many systems he has to learn. This all started with Mara’s biggest blunder and a hint of things to come when he scapegoated and forced out Coughlin. Thus destroying the stability and discipline that Coughlin gave the team. People defend Daboll because Shoen didnt give him this or that, well, Reese gave Coughlin no help with the Defense. Then Mara signed off on benching Eli to start Gino Smith and its been all downhill from there!!!!!

Belichick’s record over his 1st 6 years as an NFL head coach: 41-55 (.427). Under .500 in 5 of those 6 years. Made the playoffs only once & won just one playoff game. No coach of the year awards. Daboll over his first two full years as an NFL head coach: 15-18-1 (.455). Made the playoffs in his first season and won a playoff game win. Coach of the year. Without patience, Belichick would have been bagging groceries and would be a forgotten man. We can’t change our coach every two years.

The QB class is college is poor this year, so I would definitely not draft a QB, unless we are drafting in x the top 3 spots. Shoen signed Daniel Jones to a 4-year, $160 million contract. Two games into the season and Marshall wants everyone fired. After 2 games he's completely giving up on the season. Fire everyone! GM, Head coach first. Coordinators will lose their jobs, so will all or almost all of the assistants. The new GM will bring in his own player personnel people so most of the scouts will be out of a job. Lots of players will be out as well. Most of the free agents will look to sign with teams they're sure want than rather than hoping the new staff will. We'll see another youth movement. We'll sell off veteran assets for draft capital because we're rebuilding again anyway. We'll keep Malik but Dexter and Andrew Thomas will probably get moved for picks. It'll be great, a fresh start for the franchise. We'll finally have the stability Marshal wants. And this time it'll be different. No growing pains with this young inexperienced team. A winning record the first year, the playoffs the second year. The rookie QB will hit the ground running like he's CJ Stroud, because that's what always happens. Highly drafted young QBs never struggle. Luck will be with us this time. Our draft picks will transition seamlessly from college to the NFL. Our young O line with have JMS at center and who knows who in the other 4 spots. But it doesn't matter, they'll perform like veterans who have worked together for years. No rash of injuries, no problems with the young players picking up the new systems, no disappointing free agents underperforming, Just blue skies and a GM, coach and QB attached at the hip. Green grass and high tides forever.
