I recently went to Dubai. I'm not a "brand" perosn per se, and I've barely given 2 shts about luxury brands. One day I saw this store where I loved ALL their collection. It was Balmain. Ever since, I decided to search up about Balmain and I'm just amazed at how concise of a visionary Oliver is.

I am not into fashion whatsoever but I just absolutely adore Olivier ❤️❤️ His heart, his passion and when you watch hk interact with others the care and kindness which he shows his models and team. Watching wonder boy had me in tears, and then when he said after women had been lying coming forward as his mother, my heart broke for him. I really hope he finds his birth mother and has that closure his heart is so desperately looking for.

The first time I ever went to Paris was 2 or 3 years ago and one of the first thing I did was visit the Balmain store. It was when Balmain was starting to get a lot of attention no accesories, no bags not a lot of stores around the world yet. Even though I couldnt buy anything (I wish I could have) visiting the store was an experience by itself, the building is amazing everyone is veeery uptight but the most important thing for me was to actually see and touch the clothes, I remember there was a mannequin with a dress I saw on Kim K it was beautiful, to see and touch every embroidery the luxury of the fabric it felt like the best one in the world, it was like Olivier said in the video: pure richness. I got the opportunity to visit different designers stores in Paris, but Balmain definitely impressed me at the end of the day because of the impeccable designs, quality and originality of their dresses and clothes, Olivier truly is very talented and his designs are worth every euro. very inspiring.

Christophe Decarnin does not get the credit he deserves when it comes to setting the foundation for what Balmain, and honestly the industry as a whole, has become. He is truly a visionary, and I much preferred his tenure at the house than what Olivier has done.

i agree entirely and i am black. i looked up decarnin just now as i had completely forgotten about this man's existence, you hardly hear of him its like he's kept in a corner. all rousteing has done is build upon his legacy, he has not invented anything new whilst there and he's been there for some time. now the sequins are tired to look at and ive long become bored of balmain, no imagination or ingenuity, no creativity just the same, like lagerfeld at chanel but at least lagerfeld was appointed to maintain chanel's heritage not to change it
