Sachin is a junior studying Philosophy, Politics, and Economics with a minor in History. Having grown up in rural Utah, he is passionate about addressing issues affecting rural communities, particularly poverty and access to education and healthcare. Sachin was an inaugural member of NYU's Extremism Examined Program and is Director of Research for the Political Economy Exchange at NYU. He is also a reporter for WNYU Radio, where he primarily reports on labor organizing at NYU and in New York City at large. He is particularly interested in the nascent Law and Political Economy (LPE) movement. This summer, Sachin will be working with Mountain State Justice in West Virginia to advocate for economic and social rights.
The Gallatin Global Fellowship in Human Rights is a year-long program that supports selected NYU students with funding to focus on these issues while working with human rights organizations. Fellows pursue extended projects and internships (including research and report writing) for the host organization during the summer. The fellowship aims to allow students to contribute to the host organizations’ work while gaining experience in the human rights field in ways that complement their academic trajectory at NYU.
