Hey Nick, just a little suggestion for you. I love your videos, and I know you love bright colorful designs. If you want to avoid your colorful projects slipping over into brown, or black, aim to just use colors from the same side of the color wheel, instead of the whole color wheel. Mixing all colors produces blacks and browns. Instead, mix reds/yellows/oranges/pinks, or yellows/oranges/greens, or green/blue/purple/pink, or red/pinks/purples/blues, or yellows/greens/blues, these will result in bright colorful outcomes without the loss of vibrancy that comes from putting in contrast colors that cancel each other out, such as red/green, blue/yellow, purple/orange.
@colourfulsouls3 жыл бұрын
Yes, color theory is important at for all artists to know. Also- *blue/orange *purple/yellow

@LopsideMakes2 жыл бұрын
But doesn’t the black and brown make it all that much more beauteous? You may think that it’s ugly, but honestly it’s quite easy on the eyes if you look for the individual colors that stand out. It’s more of a piece that shows you more every time you look at it.

You really need a sanding room for your workshop Nick, even just a small area. It really helps not let those dust damage your camera your lathe or electrons anything you might have in your workshop also you lungs, even tough you wearing gas mask. It could keep those dust away even when you’re done with your work, a lot of dust are still floating in the air and you might breathe in. So if you have a sanding room you really could just let the dust settle down. And it doesn’t make too much mess and also it easy to clean as well.👌👌

Right.....even creating like a spray booth, by hanging plastic drop cloths from the ceiling of his workshop, in an enclosed square to the floor, or two sides in a corner; then he could just leave it up since he seems to do this quite often. Am a bit worried about his lungs, though. My baby brother, just passed away at age 51, of COPD, from a lifetime of abusing his lungs. I'd hate to see the "Z", fall victim to the same fate in the name of art. He is quite clever, though, isn't he?

“Take the punt” “Give it a bash” Phrases I’ve never heard but will use from now on
@ironbomb67534 жыл бұрын
I think you need to be a proper Englishman to pull those phrases off. If you are, Waffle on mate.
@naomihall27854 жыл бұрын
@@ironbomb6753 erm, nicks not English though.... And I say many phrases that are not technically "Canadian" because I grew up spending a lot of time with ppl much older than me, so I disagree. If you like the phrase, use it, everybody else be hanged 🤷♀️😘

@@TheMeta6 he has a new Zealand or Australian accent.... not British..... But pretty sure he's in Australia. Usually when some someone says a "proper Englishman" they're referring to the British.... at least that's what I've heard it used as in my experience, but I could be wrong, it's happened before and it'll likely happen again. Lol

If you really wanted to sand it so that it is flat and smooth you could paint a couple layers of resin on it, letting it dry between layers of course. Then you start sanding and get finer and finer paper until you are using a polish paste to put a great surface on it.

Oh I know that sanding-residue-everywhere problem (s’why it’s a warm weather activity. . . Outside in the yard!) I’d legit hate to be your vacuum! And thank you very much for kicking me into gear... got me a wood slice and it’s screaming to be a table!

Me and my 4 year old daughter watch your videos every night after her bedtime story, and every time you pour she says “why doesn’t he add glitter?” Haha! By the end she always said “it didn’t need glitter after all daddy”

I ran crayons through hand pencil sharpeners as a kid cause I thought it was cool (didn't do the resin stuff though, I just had crayon flakes sitting in my room) and seeing the thumbnail reminded me of it I can still smell the wax flecks

I enjoyed this. What an absolute hassle. If I were your friend, I would carry sequins in my pocket with some super glue and always offer to help with the project at hand. I could glue a single sequin on the button of your shirt and then pop off to tea. The patience you have for your passions and creative nature is astounding.
