I'm full-size since I also have a work setup baked into my complete setup (KVM and whatnot). I make good use of the number pad and function keys, and it balances out my 49 inch super-ultrawide and 80 inch wide desk nicely :)

I expected something similar to GMMK, but my expectations fell apart once I saw this keyboard. I was hoping for something high standard from Nzxt, but instead they just made a cheap low quality keyboard But the mouse was decent, though it still has some input lag compared to other competitors.

Mouse looked okay but its still trash. Not your normal input lag on that one

"High standard". The one's who haven't learned how to make a case that doesn't suck with airflow and don't add anything to the next iteration of the case? Those high standards? The same high standards that chocked off m.2 airflow of their mobo? The one's that when they announced a new case with airflow in mind they added a screen in the front? The only thing they have going for them is minimalism. And they can't even do that well without causing fires. The puck they have for headphones is good
@mikeyhope7577
@mikeyhope7577 2 жыл бұрын
Nzxt can’t even make a case that has good airflow or doesn’t catch on fire. Idk what high standards you were expecting.

Oh shit the fuck up it’s a nice ass keyboard! What can you build a better board and mass produce it?
@codyeakinsbradley
@codyeakinsbradley 2 жыл бұрын
There are boards out there with better build quality for the same price. By the time you put money and effort into making the experience better you could of built one for cheaper and to the spec you want. You don't have to be an enthusiast to build a better board. As far as mass production, anyone with the heart could out perform this board.

I think it's more about having the mouse to the right closer to the keyboard, making your posture better. So for me, 65% keyboard-mouse-external numpad.

75% is my favorite size for a desk but 65% is my favorite size for travel. If I didn't have a couple of games that needed lots of keybinds then I would be pretty hard committed to a 65% at all times.

I'm a tkl with a usb numpad. I like the tkl + numpad combo, except it works best when you have a numpad with a detachable cable, and a tkl kb with a usb port, and both can be hard to find. Being able to move the numpad to left or get rid of it entirely is a really nice feature.

I watched your video about 2 months back as a review for this keyboard. You where the reason I decided to spend my money on this and I am very glad I did. This keyboards build quality, Switch quality and the sound of the keys sound very premium. I have been through quite a few keyboards in my time with computers and its normally a switch goes or some feature of the board. This keyboard every part is basically replaceable meaning you buy this once and you'd never need to buy another again. Would honestly recommend this keyboard to anyone!

I do believe that the “NZXT” button is there to launch the application “NZXT cam”, but I’m not sure, I’ve seen many gaming laptops with keyboards that have a key containing there logo, when pressed on launches there gaming suite. Perhaps it’s that? Anyways keep up the great work Frank, love your content especially your filming techniques. 🔥

Personally I think the remapping UI is pretty straightforward and user-friendly. Yeah, it's a bit of a hassle to havta drag and drop to remap, but it seems intuitive and it prevents the problem of losing a key to the abyss if you remapped it and want it back. For example, going with your suggestion of clicking on a key, and then pressing the remap to remap it, if I remap my Esc key to just be another letter X key, well how do I remap something to Esc now since my Esc key has been remapped to X? You could reset everything back to the original for just the purpose of remapping, but what if I switched out my keycaps to match my remapping, then I'm not necessarily going to remember the old default mapping.

65% or mini TKL is perfect for me. I typically use only the 40% part of the 65% keyboards for work related typing with both hands on the keyboard but it's nice to have dedicated keys for when I don't have both hands on the keyboard, like when I'm watching KZbin videos or just browsing web pages.

Although I also use a full size Logitech 613 (had it and love the Logitech's mechanical key feel a bit heavy though) in the bedroom's HTPC along with a TKL.. I also find full size keyboard, in particular Logitech G915, not an incumbrance when gaming.

I think these were made to be bundled with their BLD PCs. For products that you would get with their BLD PCs, these are really good. Obviously these are not good keyboards, and the mouse is pretty average, but these are extremely good for starting peripherals. However, HP might have the upper hand if they start using HyperX peripherals with their PCs.

I think you missed the boat here as did NZXT, you can't complain about the upgrade to black ink if you compare to something like the GMMK Oro at $160 you don't get keycaps and switches... So compare apples to apples, (order with the basic and it is still $120) take the switches and caps out of the equation and look at the build quality. Maybe get the base of each add the same parts and look at those differences. I would argue that this puts them in line with other starter customs and yes if you don't want to do any of the work then you will pay the $$$/hr to have them build it. You can't review the quality one way and then turn around and change the perspective, it is either a custom or a custom pre-built.
