Based wife. There are very few glass pads that *MAY* work without a "gaming" sleeve for some individuals such as Glsswrks Kazemi but since it has cringey anime design, your wife is still going to push you into the locker and steal your lunch money. The glass experience has its pros but now that the winter is approaching, it gets pretty cold. Also, you have to wipe any dust particle or anything really as it ruins the experience. Frankly, the cons outweight the pros which is primarily freedom/speed and consistency*. Consistency is debatable as 99% don't live in perfect conditions so, sweat also ruins the experience because your palm glues to it if you're static for few seconds and your palm will inevitably sweat even if your room is 18-22 degrees.

this video is so ridiculous. I hate to break it to all you wannabe pro gamers, but you're not good enough at video games that a mousepad is going to make a tangible difference for you. Maybe 100 people on Earth have refined their skills so much so that a mousepad could actually make a worthwhile difference in their gameplay. And if you're reading this comment on this scambait video then I assure that you are not one of those 100 people. Do not waste your money on a mousepad in hopes that you will become a better gamer. You will not. The guy posting this video gets a commission for every purchase people make through his affiliate links so he is incentivized to mislead potential buyers into thinking they need to upgrade their mousepad for epic trick $hotz. @lukeX2m
@lukeX2m 2 ай бұрын
Well it’s cut in a specific measurement and I can assume that many pads that have branding underneath the glass also require a bit more machining then just slapping two sheets of glass together and calling it a day. There’s also a bit of micro texturing that’s added which I assume is a little bit involved to add to glass. There is absolutely a premium tax on the glass pads but it’s not equivalent to taking the glass out of your window and using it as your pad

Before the xray pads I was running the stock gpro super light skates and off the bat Its a noticeable difference how extremely smooth it is. Better yet the consistency is definitely there so if you’re questioning buying them I would suggest you do it. I have an SP-004 also and I disagree with the "never needs cleaning" part. If it has a single grain of sand or dirt or dust on it then it has the tendency to cause a grinding sensation until you wipe it off with a microfiber cloth. So, if you don't include dusting it off before use, then yeah you never have to clean it.

@@flytelp what downsides are there?
@flytelp
@flytelp 2 ай бұрын
@@upularFTW glass pads have quite a few downsides that you see immediately when using one for the first time. Especially if the type of game you play is more closely aligned with a tac shooter, you probably wont see any performance gains due to the lack of both static and dynamic friction. In general though: 1. glass pads require a sleeve 2. They become dysfunctional with moisture 3. They make a lot of noise which can only be covered with closed back headphones or iems 4. Extremely sensitive to dust and hair 5. Require much more mouse control or specialized control skates 6. Aren’t comfortable, at least not nearly as comfortable as a plush pad when statically resting your wrist. 7. It’s extremely expensive to try new surfaces at >$100 for most pads 8. The lack of friction requires more tension in your arm, which is counterproductive to the general theory of staying loose yet controlled in high tier aiming scenarios. As stated even in this video, unless you are playing a tracking focused game, you lose basically all control when switching to glass. It’s also worth noting that even some of the top aimers in the world, including VT Matty, prefer to use a fast cloth pad over glass (in his case the artisan raiden) as the physical properties of the pad allow for movement pushing into the pad where glass only allows two dimensional travel.

It also removes the need of a 100% clean surface. A small particle grinding between the glass mousepad and the feet is horrible. While on a Cordura pad these particles "hide" between the fabric. The things that no one talks about when it comes to glass pads are: 1.) the smallest spec of dust will render it unusable. The amount of times I have to pick my mouse up mid match and wipe off the skates and the pad are annoying as hell. 2.) Glass insulates heat, which means if your house is cold, your glass pad will feel like a sheet of ice. It’s impossible to keep your hands warm.

Second one was why I sold my old skypad, even just using it to browse KZbin in the morning in pajamas it would be freezing in winter. Dust allergic so I always have a air purifier running on my desk so could get away with an hour without wiping. The improvement of transfers and flicks when I'm locked in doesn't justify the majority of hours I'm on my computer and not gaming being less comfortable. Realistically, an artisan or even decent clothpad isn't the reason holding you back and that someone else is owning you. They're also probably on a 15 euro qck aswell. Edit: also glass swipe noise took the immersion out of games like content warning and lethal company for friends who heard it through my mic, also a major factor on me not using it.

Ngl, I've had many glass pads over a couple of years and have never, ever had an issue with dust. I keep a microfiber cloth and wipe the pad before I start playing and when I get back from any breaks and it has been more than enough. The cold I understand, I have always played with long sleeves so it's never been an issue, but I agree glass pads definitely aren't for everyone.

I got the Skypad 4 about 5 months ago. Been using it with an arm sleeve. The biggest downside is that I have to have a microfiber cloth by my desk at all times for this thing. I have 2 cats and anything between the pad and your mouse will cause problems. Literally any hair or anything. So, before AND during usage, I constantly have to wipe down the surface of the pad and the bottom of my mouse. And all the other downsides exist mentioned in the video. I've put on new mouse skates cause the original set were chewed through in a month. Another downside for me is I'd like it just slightly bigger, but they don't make a bigger size. And you can't have anything on top of the pad, unlike the huge deskpads I'm used to using. I'd have so much stuff on that pad. But, despite all these downsides, I'd still use this glass pad because it is the most consistent mouse movement experience. It isn't even comparable to anything else. But it is definitely for someone who plays FPS games often. Otherwise, it really isn't necessary.

There must be a reason for that, they earn 10k a month and don’t buy it. Ask yourself why. Second point, it's just a glass sheet, a material that probably costs 5 dollars. Add the processing and paint, maybe another 5 dollars, and 5 dollars for marketing. Where do the remaining 100 dollars come from?

I prefer the cloth placemat style mousepads now: dampens sound from your keyboard, looks sleek, glides fine, mousefeet last forever, easy to clean (I have two so one can be cleanen/dried) and verry affordable and available in 1001 colors and designs, or you can design your own. I used the Skypad 2.0 for a year and the Skypad 3.0 for around four years with a sleeve.. It 100% makes your aim input feel more raw.. I did eventually switch back to a thick classic pad though sense becoming a father around 6 months ago as I prefer the comfort and the classic style thick pads over the performance benifits the skypad 3.0 gives me. I didn't feel like I was lacking in aim when I transitioned but I know I aim..(and that's fine).. It's just more comfortable and nicer in more situations to use a cloth surface as I'm not gaming as much as I used to since being a father. Undoubtedly glass pads are awesome if you're after raw aim potential but it requires a LOT of aim discipline.. If you're buying a pad like this expect you're going to need to learn to adapt. If you're a jittery or flicky aimer like me you'll notice the lack of control or discipline in your aim when quick tracking targets. I started out with a QCK Heavy on an OG G303.. Honestly one of the best setups and I didn't realize or know it at the time when I started fps gaming. Currently using a G303 SE + Puretrak CL1 6mm thick pad.. It's like I've gone back to my roots (bigger hands) with slight improvements in quality. I've been thinking about picking up a Smooth Criminal mousepad
