@dogboy09127 жыл бұрын
It's mainly the power supply. Sfx can get quite expensive especially if you get an sfx-L. Not only sfx having a premium to begin with, a lot of itx cases nearly require semi or modular PSUs. You're looking at ~$90 just for a psu that fits and is relatively quiet. Cases are also more unique and maybe you want certain dimensions and the only cases for that cost $80+. Motherboards are generally more expensive for less features, but at least for kaby and Skylake there is the used market.

Yeah. I'm just saying sfx have the largest premium over normal sized components compared to everything else in an itx build.

NZXT has a solution to your USB issues. They sell an internal USB hub. It's probably the most useful piece of kit that no one has ever hears of... :) It's almost mandetory actually. At least, it is for me. :) Rather than ditching the smart hub, i really wish it was sold separately, it would really save me some hassle, not to mention, a fair few wires. :)
@sneakeyboard83057 жыл бұрын
on top of the effin premium that was already paid for by having a "smart" hub? Nty. Don't tell me how to setup cooling profiles, NZXT. I'd insta-buy the 700i the moment the "smart," dumb features become optional and we all know they just don't wanna lose on the R&D it took to make it; don't justify it by implying we, the consumers, have to clean up after them and buy an extra accessory. At least there's competition though.
@BeerBellyDK7 жыл бұрын
There's a couple reasons why i wouldn't want to control the fans through the motherboard. First of all, in my case, there's not enough headers. And yes, you could use splitters, but another problem is, MSI's software won't remember your custom settings after reboot. You have to tune and setup your fans through the uefi, if you want your custom curves to be permanently applied. That's just plain stupid. I wouldn't want to make dusins of reboots just to tune my fan curves. And so, the grid+, which just uses an internal USB header, allows me to control everything in the windows environment. Finally, reaching the motherboards fan headers on a super compact build, can be tricky busyness. Actually, i have to remove the CPU cooler to reach it. And that goes for both of my compact builds. Not something i would want to do, just to for example replace a case fan either. A separate solution is, as you can see, for me, a much better choice. And having both of the external units i happen to use, combined into one, would be a HUGE advantage. Again, i don't care one bit about the smart functions. You can manually tune everything after the smart hub has done it's own initial calibration. In other words, the smart function seems to be a one time deal, and afterwards, it's as dumb as a conventional grid+, allowing you to control everything manually if you wish, at least, from what i've seen. :) These are some of the challenges you will face if you go with a truly compact build. This right here in the video, is not really a compact case at all.

The biggest issue with this case seems to be the requirement of two USB 2 connectors, which is up to the consumer and MoBo manufacturers to compensate for. I personally think this is a great addition to a 2017 lineup of cases where mid towers are choked in the front by solid paneling. This one does too, but its nice to see some headroom. Probably my favorite looking ITX case to date.

For additional USB ports - NZXT has the Internal USB hub. Something that is very useful for this case. Though I'd really like if they would upgrade the NZXT manta - which is IMO one of the prettiest cases built today! Having a modular approach, where you can take out the whole rear part, and replace it with a second one where the rear fan is removed, for the possibility of a vertical GPU bracket in the middle - with enough clearance for great airflow. Also have the possibility to get a 2x3,5" drivebay next to the power supply. Getting this would be a clear buy for me for my next build!

Hi Dmitry, I just bought this very good case after all the good reviews everywhere. But I hope you would have talked about the shamefull 3.5" HDD "slot" on this case. It is inacceptable on this kind of price range. It was really an afterthought. For people who plan to buy this case, you should know that the 3.5" emplacement is crap (just holes drilled in the bottom of the case) and that this slot and the front 2.5" kinda require alimentation cable that finish with the sata plug (and not cable that continue to a molex or another sata for exemple) because of the way the HDD or SSD are stuck against a flat surface. Also, my motherboard have all the connections (sata and 24pins) on the top, near the top fan. And its a real pain to shove everything in there while keeping the top fan. It's already a big itx case (which I don't mind), 5mm more in height would have been nice for me. So in the end i'm still kinda happy with the purchase because it looks cool, but I moved from a Bitfenix Prodigy and the H200i felt like a stepdown on many practical and construction levels. And I think that 130€ is an hard to swallow price for a non-aluminium case.
