August Celine III Because not all motherboards have used the same arrangement in the past. And some niche boards, like for example from Supermicro (for NAS builds) still don't follow this "standard", making the entire connector unusable.

@dogboy0912
@dogboy0912 7 жыл бұрын
It's mainly the power supply. Sfx can get quite expensive especially if you get an sfx-L. Not only sfx having a premium to begin with, a lot of itx cases nearly require semi or modular PSUs. You're looking at ~$90 just for a psu that fits and is relatively quiet. Cases are also more unique and maybe you want certain dimensions and the only cases for that cost $80+. Motherboards are generally more expensive for less features, but at least for kaby and Skylake there is the used market.
@dogboy0912

Yeah. I'm just saying sfx have the largest premium over normal sized components compared to everything else in an itx build.

If anyone is having a problem with only have one usb header you can combine the smart hub usb plug with the AIO plug, not a lot of people know this but a standard usb header can support 2 devices most usb plugs only use one of em not the other
@RedVioletVODs
@RedVioletVODs 7 жыл бұрын
if NZXT makes a CPU cooler that utilizes the USB header, why not try to make a system to allow you to plug in the NZXT specific cooler into the smart hub controller? it'll control fans and LED lighting, it makes sense to me

NZXT has a solution to your USB issues. They sell an internal USB hub. It's probably the most useful piece of kit that no one has ever hears of... :) It's almost mandetory actually. At least, it is for me. :) Rather than ditching the smart hub, i really wish it was sold separately, it would really save me some hassle, not to mention, a fair few wires. :)
@sneakeyboard8305
@sneakeyboard8305 7 жыл бұрын
on top of the effin premium that was already paid for by having a "smart" hub? Nty. Don't tell me how to setup cooling profiles, NZXT. I'd insta-buy the 700i the moment the "smart," dumb features become optional and we all know they just don't wanna lose on the R&D it took to make it; don't justify it by implying we, the consumers, have to clean up after them and buy an extra accessory. At least there's competition though.
@BeerBellyDK
@BeerBellyDK 7 жыл бұрын
There's a couple reasons why i wouldn't want to control the fans through the motherboard. First of all, in my case, there's not enough headers. And yes, you could use splitters, but another problem is, MSI's software won't remember your custom settings after reboot. You have to tune and setup your fans through the uefi, if you want your custom curves to be permanently applied. That's just plain stupid. I wouldn't want to make dusins of reboots just to tune my fan curves. And so, the grid+, which just uses an internal USB header, allows me to control everything in the windows environment. Finally, reaching the motherboards fan headers on a super compact build, can be tricky busyness. Actually, i have to remove the CPU cooler to reach it. And that goes for both of my compact builds. Not something i would want to do, just to for example replace a case fan either. A separate solution is, as you can see, for me, a much better choice. And having both of the external units i happen to use, combined into one, would be a HUGE advantage. Again, i don't care one bit about the smart functions. You can manually tune everything after the smart hub has done it's own initial calibration. In other words, the smart function seems to be a one time deal, and afterwards, it's as dumb as a conventional grid+, allowing you to control everything manually if you wish, at least, from what i've seen. :) These are some of the challenges you will face if you go with a truly compact build. This right here in the video, is not really a compact case at all.

I think it's easier than that... AFAIK each thing (fan hub and AiO controller) uses only one of the two available USB ports in the header. You can just re-pin the connector to use both in one header.

I was about to suggest this as well as I have used it in my Phanteks Evolv ITX build using the X52 cooler, but I wish they offered the case without the smart feature that would be awesome for consumer to save a few bucks in case they don’t need that

The biggest issue with this case seems to be the requirement of two USB 2 connectors, which is up to the consumer and MoBo manufacturers to compensate for. I personally think this is a great addition to a 2017 lineup of cases where mid towers are choked in the front by solid paneling. This one does too, but its nice to see some headroom. Probably my favorite looking ITX case to date.

How does that even work ? I'd love to be able in about 6months time when I want to upgrade again to plug in multiple things into USB and for all of them to work properly since most of them all need some type of software ... I already have an NZXT Hue+ with 2 LED strips using my one and only USB 2.0 and I want to get EK RGB reservoir , RGB fans and yet another 2 LED strips that I can control separately ... how the hell do I do all of that at once ... So far the only thing I'm thinking is if I can get a motherboard with 2-3 RGB plugs and all of them can be controlled separately T_T"

These headers support 2 USB ports. The pump and the smarthub only use one each so you can remove the pins from one connector and insert them into the other one. I did that in my h700i and it works perfectly fine plus you are only using up one usb header and there is no need for an internal USB hub.

You can splice two USB peripherals into one header. It's what I had to do with my NZXT build. This has already been explained on other channels. You can also fit two 140mm Kraken X42's (yes, it's enough), I use one for the CPU and the other, GPU, though I recommend a Zotac 1080TI Mini if you do use a Kraken G12 GPU Hybrid kit. For additional USB ports - NZXT has the Internal USB hub. Something that is very useful for this case. Though I'd really like if they would upgrade the NZXT manta - which is IMO one of the prettiest cases built today! Having a modular approach, where you can take out the whole rear part, and replace it with a second one where the rear fan is removed, for the possibility of a vertical GPU bracket in the middle - with enough clearance for great airflow. Also have the possibility to get a 2x3,5" drivebay next to the power supply. Getting this would be a clear buy for me for my next build!

If you want a good compact case the RVZ03B by Silverstone is a better option, if you don't care about the size the Rl06WS-PRO, and Fractal design R6 + Meshify C are better options (IMO).

Hi Dmitry, I just bought this very good case after all the good reviews everywhere. But I hope you would have talked about the shamefull 3.5" HDD "slot" on this case. It is inacceptable on this kind of price range. It was really an afterthought. For people who plan to buy this case, you should know that the 3.5" emplacement is crap (just holes drilled in the bottom of the case) and that this slot and the front 2.5" kinda require alimentation cable that finish with the sata plug (and not cable that continue to a molex or another sata for exemple) because of the way the HDD or SSD are stuck against a flat surface. Also, my motherboard have all the connections (sata and 24pins) on the top, near the top fan. And its a real pain to shove everything in there while keeping the top fan. It's already a big itx case (which I don't mind), 5mm more in height would have been nice for me. So in the end i'm still kinda happy with the purchase because it looks cool, but I moved from a Bitfenix Prodigy and the H200i felt like a stepdown on many practical and construction levels. And I think that 130€ is an hard to swallow price for a non-aluminium case.

I was so excited to see you guys finally reviewing this case, but the biggest question I had about it went unmentioned... How choked is the GPU going to be with that PSU shroud and cable cover? Sure, the shroud is perforated, but under that perforation is still a solid PSU, and a bunch of jumbled cables... and the cable cover lines up perfectly with the blower style card's intake, as seen in your build. So where does the air come from?

It does support 280mm AIOs but only if the fans are installed first on the inside in a push configuration.

The cable management bar fills up the dead space inside the case nicely, but it also prevents a dual-fan setup on top. Not sure it's worth it. The Nano S is more functional at the same size.

I'm glad NZXT is taking airflow more seriously with this new line of cases. If only they weren't so expensive.

I'm going with the h210. My current case is the razer antec cube and as much as I love it, it's huge and takes up way too much space. In addition I managed to get my hands on the 3080 FE and it is not being cooled properly due to mother board orientation (upside down forced by case). So this case looks like a significant upgrade and I already have the nzxt kraken x53 so this should be perfect for me.

NZXT also sell internal USB hub, so you can buy one and get around the one usb restriction of your motherboard easily. Hope they integrated it into the chasis though.

I had the same problem with USB headers when building a similar setup in the Manta. NZXT's USB splitter didn't solve the problem, but a 2.0 to 3.0 header did. Of course, I couldn't use the front case USBs.

If NZXT included their internal USB expansion hub in the package, it would certainly make for a killer deal. That hub is almost mandatory if you're building in this case.

THE CAM and X52 both only use half the usb socket. You can combine the the CAM usb with Pump's USB into one plug. so you can control both

I mean you could easily add the NZXT USB hub. I thing this case would be great for an air cooled build as it looks like itll support large heatsinks.

This case is awesome. The only feature I wish of is removable or hiding carrying handles, so that would make this pc a portable; not that it is not since it is small already, just that handles would would make it a great feature. I game at my friend's house on his 75" 4k tv, and my left arm is not strong as it use to be due to a car accident, one hand carrying is always a great option. Right now i have a Raidmax Troy. In as much as it is a very useful case, its not as nice aesthetically as this nzxt.

I wish they would see an option for the case that didn't include a smart hub. Bringing the price down would help popularize the case quite a bit.
