A vision of the world after a nuclear war with no winners. A concrete capsule gives shelter to eight hundred of hungry and sick people. They wait for a miraculous ark coming to their rescue, although it is just a myth created by the authority of the crypt. In reality, it has limited endurance and inevitably comes to an end. The community's days are numbered. Everyone passively awaits a miracle, even when the leaders disclaim the information about the arrival of the ark.

It was scary. This movie is set in post-apocalyptic world where people in power try to recreate civilization with misguided ideologies (communism). The story is not that far from what really happened in Poland in the years following ww2 1945-53.

I don't think that color palette was directors (Piotr Szulkin) choosing. The person responsible for color aesthetics was his cinematographer - the one of two masters of polish cinematography - Witold Sobociński
