Good video, I'm looking forward to this, I like some of the mechanics for deployment.

I’ve listened to the first eight minutes before being summoned 🙁 So I have to listen to the Russian player later, but all clear so far, it’s given me a clearer view of set up and showed me that a lot more thought is needed when you roll high a 6 or low a 1.

Oooooh! How exciting. Nice lunchtime watch. Back to work and then back to painting 15mm WW2! Roll on the roll out of the rules.

Dave/Rich - a couple of questions. 1. What occurs in the case of an extreme deployment throw (e.g. 1,1,1,1,5,5,6) for the defender? Can they "buy" patrol markers or does everything revert to table edge deployment aside from ambushers? 2. Is there any place for recce troops in the game - e.g. scout or armoured cars or are these just part of the patrol marker representation? 3. Can you fire immediately as deployed from a patrol marker - that AT "ambush" mentioned? 4. Can you confirm plans for expansions into other theatres/Nations and scenarios, please? Many thanks Nick

The maximum number of 1s in the Deployment Dice rolls is 3 per side. Any extra are simply rerolled.

Recon- If you watch Video 1 you'll see the Germans have a recce platoon of armoured cars. You'll see how these are used as the game develops.

You can fire after deploying from a Combat Patrol, but this is classed as moving fire, as you are deemed to have moved up to that position.

Pre order done :-) Looking forward to these rules, very interesting deployment. From what I have seen BUA's are a representation and are sectors, how many units can occupy a BUA? Is there a limit?
@ruckandmaul50183 жыл бұрын
One platoon (and any platoon attached weapon) and any one heavy weapon. On top Company Commanders and FOs can also join the garrison.

Are there sample unit stats posted somewhere? I checked TFL's page. I'm must curious how much variation there will be among similar units, such as a British section vs a German squad. And if the game will differentiate between things like a 75mm and a 76mm Sherman.
@ruckandmaul50183 жыл бұрын
British, German, US and Russian infantry all have a bespoke Training Characteristic. As you might suspect Germans have a Rate of Fire bonus to cater for the MG34/42, while the British platoon can use smoke to cover an advance.

The main gun types are covered, so there is a significant difference between the US 75mm and US 76mm. The 75mm has a very average A/T Firepower rating but good HE rating. Whereas the US 76mm has good A/T Firepower but only average HE. The 76mm is also better at engaging with A/T at longer (elevated) ranges.

So dice rolls of one by either player are only detrimental to the defender? Seems a bit rough
@toofatlardies3 жыл бұрын
It’s a representation of the attackers initial bombardment. In a game where sides may be equal, it allows the attacker to downgrade their opponent so they have a small numerical advantage. This is balanced by the defender having ambush units which the attacker doesn’t have. Absolutely parity doesn’t equal fairness. Both sides have advantages that are unique to them.
@SuperHalberd3 жыл бұрын
@@toofatlardies ok that seems reasonable
@Vlad65WFPReviews3 жыл бұрын
I've played so many rules and scenarios in which the defender has a real advantage so it will be interesting to see how this might bring some balance.
