So beautifully adapted. After Twenty Years is one of my most favourite stories. The video has made the story more interesting for me. The characters of Bob and Jimmy is quite close to O.Henry's depiction. Had their creator been alive, he would have been happy to see his 'best chums' alive. The music in the intervals is so charming and immersive, it transports the viewers into the imaginary world of O.Henry.

So Bob finds it hard to believe that the fake Jimmy is really Jimmy because he's so tall... and yet, the REAL Jimmy is much taller than the fake Jimmy. The real Jimmy doesn't have a Roman nose, nor does the fake Jimmy have a pug. Ah well. Other than that, it's well acted, and very faithful to the short story.

I REALLY like O. Henry but this is TERRIBLE. Let me count the ways: - first guy, Bobby, waiting for Jimmy is doing an awful impersonation of Peter Falk/ Pesce/ any Italian mobster type. The dialogue is fine, BUT the delivery is dated and wooden. - a police officer with a 3-day beard in this time period??? I think not. - when so-called Jimmy shows up, he looks all of 24 years old. O. Henry must be spinning in his grave.
