What problem did you even had tho? Just the check engine light? Or did you have rough idle or maybe some other simptoms?

Just engine light. Car ran fine. I read the OBD2 with a scanner and it gave the code that the O2 was not heating

It's suck I have it it's a lot I have code 2789 it's hot but not running hot oil it's super hot

I had a 2010 mini Cooper with a Lean o2 code AND it wound up being the brake booster and I was perplexed because the booster had a mechanical vacuum pump but I unplugged the booster and put My fingers over the vacuum pump and the trim valve started to correct it self so I changed out the brake booster and the problem was fixed.😊

I have a 2009 mini cooper R57 like yours and my engine light came on few days ago I only have 65,000 miles. I have the exact same reading P2187 and it frustrating because I only had the car for a month. So it was the Mass Airflow sensor..! is your engine light still on today?

@@maliknexus warning light was able to be cleared and never came back after I replaced the MAF sensor.

Did you delete the check engine light with the scanner, or is it off with the new sensor??? Thanks

I can’t remember 100% but I think I cleared it with the scanner and the error code never came back. That same year two other cars had failed O2 sensors and I know for one of those repairs, changing the sensor removed the error. So I may be getting the jobs confused. Sorry about that. Good luck

Do you remember if you fault code ? I have a few code mostly it's all the Foot well fault code

I replaced whole cat and downstream o2 sensor, or as far as I understood bank2 o2 sensor, and error deleted itself as soon as I turned the car on (after installing everything offcourse) and day after that I got check engine again, sp now I ordered the bank 1 or upstream o2 sensor and I am going to replace it, but what could be the problem, I went to mechanic to code read it he said everything is fine but catalytic converter was the only thing that had warnings, should I get it cleared after installing it all even if the code dissapeared itself?

Try clearing it and see if the error code comes back. What is the error code?

@@mcmcminicooperI forgot, he cleared all the codes before I changed the cat, and I couldn’t get the car licenced because europe is hard on these things, the cars emission gasses were bad so id didn’t pass the inspection Sp after finding out there were errors for cat and not passing the inspection I bought new cat and downstream o2 sensor because the old one was burnt but the upstream one (before cat or bank 1) looked fine to me So now am thinking when the bank 1 arrives I will put it in and get the codes cleared and see what happens If I get the codes back I will come here for help with the codes

How do you torque it down

You can try to get a torque wrench in there but I tighten by feel. Most likely I tighten slightly more than needed.

@@mcmcminicooper Im already replace 2 oxygen sensor Bosch (brandnew) but still show error: "oxygen sensor heating after catalytic converter function" I'm confused.

@@mcmcminicooper I used an Autel to clear the code.And it appeared a few kilometers run. It's confusing. Have you ever encountered this situation? Why the heating error of the sensor?

FYI- you defo need the long sensor socket (there is a short version socket, which is not even close to being long enough).

P0136 code. Replaced both O2 sensors and code still returns after driving 10-15 miles. I’m at a loss…..

Check the connectors to the O2 sensors that they aren’t damaged ad full seated
