This is part three of three in the installation of the Smittybilt XRC fender flares for a JK or JKU Jeep Wrangler. I got these from Extreme Terrain, and they fit my needs - Low cost, lots of clearance!
Part one covers the removal of the factory JK front fender flares, and subsequent installation of the Smittybilt flares.
Part two covers the removal of the factory JK rear fender flares, and the subsequent installation of the Smittybilt flares.
Part three covers the re-installation of the front factory fender liners...after a little cutting and creativity.

Thanks so much for this guide! It made everything so easy! Minus getting my fingers up in behind to install the lug nuts on the front fenders which took some careful skill. Cool you're a local DMV guy maybe I'll see ya around if I ever get out to some meetups or trails.

Finally completed my install after your videos. They were a great help. The only inferior part of this inexpensive smittybilt kit were the self tapping screws. A couple broke for me just trying to drill them in. Either way, in the end, I think the only reason for drilling them in would be to limit slight vibration of shutting the rear doors. Ultimately, I'm a happy camper. Final note; I reused my front liners as well following your pattern. The only difference I made was connecting the rear tab to the lower frame instead of the fender bolt. It looks a little cleaner and is extremely solid. Thanks for the 3 part series!

Thanks for doing this series of video's. I installed the XRC fender flares today. The removal/install was done in under an hour. The installation of the front fender liners took a little more time. I had to stop and watch part three to review the cut. The last bolt on the passenger side was a bi*^h to get the nut and washer on. Thanks again for your efforts to produce quality videos they have been very helpful. BTW can you do a video on your CB set up with antennae mounted on the front bumper? Thanks!

Nice job I'm on the fence between these fender flares and the armor version. Question did you think about putting that section of the liner that you bolted to the fender flare behind the quarter panel or is that not possible to clean up the look?

After all this time, still satisfied with the XRC? I think I am noticing in your later videos that you ended up removing your front liners anyway? True? Did you rhino the rear? Did the rear tap screws hold up?

that big gap in the front liner, along with the zip tied light, just makes the whole thing look cheap.

+OVERCLOCK3D - JKU Yep, who cares? It's an inexpensive mod. I have seen some people use an amber dash light in place of the existing marker. It's a little smaller, but drills into one of the holes perfectly.

I don't remember... I just went to the local Home Depot and got some fender washers that fit the bolt.

Hey buddy, I commented your look over vid recently about those fender flares. Have you heard of anyone trying to install those or the ebay knockoffs and the flare just completely not fitting or aligning at all? I hate to bother you with this question but I've looked all over and it doesn't seem like others are having this issue, none on forums anyway. Thanks! Scott

So i bought some ebay KO and the holes do not line up for $%^& on my 17 jku. The rear ones on both ends sit off the jeep about a half inch. Tried a self tap screw and it just popped out immediately. Just ordered some Rivnuts to drill and bolt in that way.

Ya mine fit like sh*t. I drilled new holes for the front fender that line up (on the flare not the jeep)and used self tapping in back. The front flares didn't even match the shape correctly and had to cut into the the surface that lays flat onto the jeep in order to bend it into the correct shape.

Ha...yeah! In the summer I am almost always in flip flops. I try and remember to put on shoes when I work on the Jeep tho...it's hard. ;-) (Unless I am cutting crap...then shoes and pants are very important!)

Id bed line it. I didn't put the liner back in because it just holds mud and dirt. Better to paint it black if you don't like seeing body color.
