I had a blast being my high school mascot, the home of the tigers during my senior year. The 1st time I had the costume on, the ventilation fan did not have batteries, it was in the low 80s. I only had a long sleeve on I had to smell my own sweat, it was insane. Lesson learned.

I was wondering if you had any information on male Disney roles besides the princes, like Mad Hatter or Peter Pan. Is height more lenient with guys bc they are less in supply? Also what does signing up for seasonal work mean? Is that only Christmas/Halloween, or is it just any one season in particular? Thank you so much!!! LOVE your videos!!!!
7 жыл бұрын
i can help to answer!! height is always strict, unfortunately, but if disney really likes you, they will measure you as a little bit smaller or taller than your actual height at the audition to put you in a certain range. in regards to your other question, someone who is seasonal has to work a minimum of 40 hours a year, so those 40 hours can be at any time. a lot of seasonal workers are in school so they get those hours during their breaks (spring break, summer break, christmas break), but you can get them at any time.

Great video!! Could you get someone you new that was Prince Charming and do a video with him? I really want to become a Disney Prince, and a lot of my friends say I look like the guys who perform as him at Disney World. Thank you!!

Hey Jared! Now if only I could get a "Retired Disney Prince" to agree to do a video with me, lol!!! that will be the day! hahaha.. hmm.. if people are already telling you you have a shot, then I say go for it! audition! you probably do have a really good shot... guys felt (for me) so few and far between, that when they would walk in to audition, all eyes were on them.. and regardless of how good you were or weren't, you were being carefully considered... how are you with following a choreographed routine?

I am 15, and I want to audition to be Prince Naveen when I am older, but I think all the Princes have to be 5'10 or taller. I dont know if I will be tall enough, but if I'm not, I want to help Disney make animated films or help Disney in the culinary section. 🏰

Do you walk in auditioning for a certain role or do they see you and then set you with a set character they think you look like?
@OakesPrincess7 жыл бұрын
I walked in with the idea of auditioning for a certain role (I had never auditioned before).. my reasoning was that because I had a Latin background, I would never be considered for Cinderella, Aurora, Mulan, etc.. so I just went with who I felt I resembled the most, based on my own opinion and that of my fiance at the time.. (Jasmine).. however, many walk in without any idea of who they might resemble and then they leave it all to chance... but I went in with my eyes done up w/the best "Arabic" makeup I could pull off and that worked for me. However, I did ask, at my first audition, if they would also consider me for Pocahontas, because I knew that the Pocahontas characters I had seen at Animal Kingdom, didn't seem to resemble Pocahontas very much, aka.. they were very, very Caucasian, and since I had more "ethnic" features, I thought I might be able to bring a little of that to the character.. and they agreed and also cast me for her in addition to Jasmine.. mind you, this was years ago, before Disney had a black princess.. so I just imagined they needed some more "ethnic" looking girls in their department. lol. I hoped then, that I was what they were looking for and I gave it my all at the audition.. and I am thankful that they cast me at the time. :D I hope that helps. But I think it helps to have an idea of who you might be considered as, then if they are open to other ideas, go with it. xo

In the stage shows are they really singing or lip singing?
@OakesPrincess7 жыл бұрын
good question! often, they were really singing. :D Especially at Hollywood Studios.. in fact, all stage shows it was their real voice, only in parades do I recall them lip syncing to an audio track.. but even then, sometimes it was their real voice. It just depended. xo

What is the shortest guy you ever worked with?? How tall was he?? I want to audition for Aladdin, but I'm worried about the height requirement.
@colbybingham-brasher15467 жыл бұрын
Does Disney make more exceptions for the heights with male face character because of lack of guys that audition? Also is it easier to work your way up into the musical roles from the non musical face characters?
7 жыл бұрын
i said this in another comment, but if you have "the look" and are close to the height range, they might fudge your height a little bit upwards or downwards at the audition to help you out in that aspect, but if you're way off, you're out of luck. the musical roles are completely separate from nonmusical roles and, to my understanding, you would have to audition again to get those as opposed to "working up" to them. the only advantage i can think of is that they sometimes do cast member only auditions, and current cast members are usually allowed to audition first at open auditions and are given more consideration.

As has been mentioned, guys who are "close enough" might get through, but they'll need to be taller than the princesses.

I heard that if you're straight and single, Disney Entertainment was a great place to meet attractive young women. If so, Disney should figure out a way of making that known during recruitment events. ... Did you find that most Aladdins were comfortable trying to have conversations with toddlers? ... Did you find that some teen girls straight up ignored Jasmine? ... I remember Rapunzel & Flynn being a pretty popular meet and greet for women in their 20s. So much so, that they had to limit his appearances to parades. True??
7 жыл бұрын
at disney world, you can only meet flynn at the new character breakfast (with rapunzel, prince eric, and ariel). in disneyland, you can meet him every day, and, yes, it is a very popular meet and greet!!

Honestly THo I always STUMBLE UPON the true identities of the people that play Peter Pan and it's Completely Sad and Accidental ;-; Fate or the Universe is probably like "Peter Pan isn't real. Look See! *makes me come across their Instagrams or KZbin pages or find an article or really anything that tells me they are real people with real lives* " BUT I PUSH ON THROUGH LOL I'm not going to let it make stop believing. Idk if it's just me that somehow finds these people? Peter Pan and Alice/ Wendy because, typically the Peter Pans are friends with the women who are friends with those characters.

Hi how tall do you have to be a prince at Disney I'm 6ft1
@OakesPrincess7 жыл бұрын
that's def tall enough.. they seem to def prefer a taller guy.. minimum I'd say is 5'9", but I feel like they prefer 5'10" plus.. that's just my experience. Though there are other face roles for guys that don't require such a height, such as Peter Pan and the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland.. etc.
