I like how thorough and instructional your videos are. Thank you. A while back, I had to use an impact wrench to remove my anode rod, too. I did worry about using it though. Some people say the vibrations can crack the glass lining of the heater if it has one--causing it to rust faster. I know they had glass linings decades ago, but I don't know if the modern ones do.

Thank you and glad you liked the video. I really didn't think about cracking the glass because I read somewhere that they are not actually glass lined but don't know if that is true. There was no way I was getting that rod out with a breakover bar. Thanks for watching.

@@OakleysDIYHomeRenovation101 I'm with you. I had a four foot cheater bar on a regular 1/2 socket wrench and it wasn't budging on a 9-year old heater. There was no way to do it except with an impact, unfortunately.

Mr. Oakley, quick question rolling back to your D Walt NiCad battery refurbishment I’m wondering if I could just hook 212 V car batteries in series and perform the same process I only have one good working Dewalt battery and about 12 dead ones. Also it seems like we’re trying to trick the Dewalt charger into charging the battery what if we just had a straight 20 V charger that we just landed on the speeds of the battery and just force charged it for an hour and then tested to see what happened??

Bought a tankless water heater. You have to use a cleaner to flush it out every 12 months. I believe the computer board is programed to cut it off every 12 months. The model I replaced. I never had to flush it. It lasted 20 years. Circuit board went out. If you have to get a plumber to do it. It cost $200 in my area. You do not have one I see, but would make a good video showing how a DIYer could do it. Maybe you have a neighbor who has one. And would let you flush it.

Forgot to mention this: In 2017, when I moved into my home here in North DFW, I saw the pipes on top of water heater (in the garage) were not insulated. I insulated both of them. You only need to insulate the cold feed, but I did both because the smallest insulation I could buy was enough for both. We had a big freeze in February of 2021. All the neighbors, and I mean all, lost hot water because the inlet pipe froze and wouldn't allow the water heater to fill up. I never had that problem. Even had hot water when the power was out because the water heater was gas.

I had a pan just like that under my water heater. Connected an old hose to it and ran it out of the garage in case the water heater leaked. Well the water heater ended up leaking and the pan overflowed. Now I know pans like that and the one under the AC condenser are a joke
