Also with regards to the tools that you had built, they are pure genius and after watching you wind down your nuts for the past few years manually and with rubber attachments to drills etc, just what you guys need. Will a steel flitch plate between two timbers do the job liam?
@thegardenroomguru7 ай бұрын
It will to a certain point, there's still deflection in them, especially if your doors are top hung, the force pushing down on a flat plate stood up on its side as it would be when it was sandwiched between timber, has not much deflection, but imagine if you flipped it on it side, it bends quite easy, so if you have a lot of weight on the doors top hung? theres were you might get a problem.

I think the osb3 t&g sheets are designed so they don’t need a noggin to fall on the short end joints (assuming appropriate joist/rafter spacing). Get a mafell or Metabo cross cut saw for them as well, mark once and cut - no messing making two marks and a line.

Hello!! Very great job. I saw more than 10 videos of yours as I will build my own small garden house. I have a small question regarding back wall for example in my case I will not have access to the back wall. So I will finish it completely before put it up. Question is. Because this side is not visible I don't want to spend money on composite decking for no reason...which material I can use instead to cover that wall? Thank you in advance !!!
@mugz_1437 Жыл бұрын
I would say still wrap the wall like all the others with the battens then put cheap feather boards so it’s still a good finish but cheap and sort of insulated and protected.

Great channel been watching also been watching your 10 part build uploaded 4 months ago. I can see the benefits of the rubber roof for 2.5m height constraints, but have you ever used Kingspan or other trapezoidal steel roof sheets, I ask as these would support fixings for solar panels?

Really enjoy watching the channel and longing for the day when I can convince the misses that we need a garden room. Have you ever considered using a flitch beam on the front rather than box steel? Would take longer to put together but better u value though not sure how the strength compares. Would expect that the rafters and roof boards would prevent any horizontal deflection.

Love the videos, I was going to make a pergola for the hot tub, but it's seen most of your videos ah good thought, why not a hot tub room. I figure out would heat the room and lower energy costs. I can see an extractor fan making an appearance, additional steel rods in the area directly under the hot tub, but keen to know if you've ever done this or even if you would recommend it ? I'm planning on having permanent back/ sides but haven't decided on the front yet, which would also be a factor in removing the hot tub should it be necessary.
